Sheng Hui Dim Sum
I came here on 1/26/25 a little after 11am. I was order number 10. I got the shumai and Shanghai dumplings. I took it home and I the shumri was not cooked. The pork was raw. I spent the time to take it back and got a refund, what a waste of time. Be careful with your food.
Omg one of the best dim sum place I've had! After the pandemic everyone elses' portions (or size) went down but not theirs. I was super surprised to see that each of the familiar items are all the same size as what we're used to. The flavor is outstanding and super authentic! According to the owners the chief was already a sim sum chef back in Hong Kong. We ordered for 2 and it came out to be about $40 ish. Well worth the money especially when everyone else is super expensive. There's only 1 small table outside so don't expect to be able to occupy it. Looks like we'll be a regular here.
The Congee
The wontons were huge, packed with generous filling—not just pork, but big, juicy chunks of shrimp. The broth was flavorful, though I think it could use just a touch more salt. Overall, totally worth the $15. Can’t wait to come back!
I love congees. When I saw The Congee show up on my search results when I was in Alhambra. I want to try them. I was there before lunchtime. So I got a table right away. The restaurant is not very big. The service was okay. I like the food. The fish balls are very fresh, and the congee is very yummy! I know I'll be back!
Lu's Garden
Asian comfort food! Loved the verities and also enjoyed that they offered unlimited sweet potato porridge for dine in customers. Friendly service! Side note: Lunch is a better deal ($16.95+ tax for 3 items combo, $21.95 for 4 items as of Jan, 2025), considering they offer the same food all day
the portion was really underwhelming—barely enough to be filling. For nearly the same price, you can get a freshly made, full plate of food at a proper restaurant. This felt more like a snack than a meal. Not great value for the money. This plate, 2 tofu, more than 10 dollars
Sam Woo BBQ
This restaurant have the best roasted Duck very tasty crispy noodle was awesome seafood porridge was so yummy highly recommended 🥰🥰♥️we’re be back again.
The food was average. Their barbeque meats weren't as good as other Sam Woo (i think). Ordered porridge and walnut mayonnaise shrimp; the walnuts were soggy.
China Cook
This place looks very nice and the food might be good but my girlfriend says she didn't get enough of it to know. She got the one entree one side combo and they basically put enough orange chicken in the box to fill one slot of the Togo Styrofoam container. Plenty of dry rice and noodles though. My "spicy" chicken fried rice is full of cartilage and fat. It was spicy and the orange chicken did taste okay. The service was bad 👎 we didn't get drinks at first but decided to stay and eat because we liked the atmosphere so we changed our minds. We were told that they have to charge the card a fee and offered to pay cash for the drink but the cashier never changed the price. Immediately didn't not feel welcomed after refusing to purchase Arizona's in a can for 6.20.
Orange chicken was very good. But the serving size was very small. I watched a previous customer get a way bigger plate for exactly what I paid for. Over charged for drink 2 Arizona teas cost $6.25 and they only cost 99¢ Employees were kinda rude and I didn't feel welcomed.
Yummi Chinese Fast Food
For Chinese fast food, it was what I expected with a nod for the hot and sour soup, which is the only fresh made item I ordered. I did expect more based on some reviews and really wanted to try the spicy fried chicken and bbq pork. They were out of the bbq pork, but had the fried chicken, so went ahead with my order anyway. Also tried the pork ribs with black bean sauce and orange chicken. All three items were ok to good for steam table food, just not great. The fried rice and chow mein also tasted like it’s been there a while. The nice lady suggested I come before lunch for the bbq pork, which I’ll have to try. I’m guessing the other items will taste fresher too and will update my review.
I’ve gone for the last 12 years the food was always great but it got my whole family sick this time. Disappointed, I won’t be going back again. This is awful!
Fujian
Clean and polite server at the front desk. Good food at reasonable prices. My last order was pork fried rice with chicken wings and it was very good.
They love to cancel your order after you have placed it and then mark their restaurant as closed.
Tasty Thousand Restaurant
Waitress was very helpful even with her somewhat broken English. Food was quite tasty. Would definitely come back. Ordered the iron beef. Recommend it.
Hit and miss. Avoid 夫妻肺片at all costs. Not fresh (iced too long). The rest was okay. I was craving 東北菜, so I dropped by here when I saw the menu. I probably will try again because they had a couple stand out dishes. I just wished that their ingredients were more fresh.
