Double Happiness Chinese Restaurant
Double Happiness does not disappoint. The Wrightsville Ave location was a neighborhood favorite of mine when we lived in Wilmington. After moving away in 2013, we have to have it again anytime we were in town. This time we visited the Ogden location and had a wonderful dining experience. This is not fast food Chinese food (although they do offer to go). It is so nice to have authentic Chinese food in a relaxed fine dining atmosphere. When we were there this past week the food was amazing! Not only did we have a wonderful meal there, we got a couple entrees to go to warm up for dinner the next day. May gave us pointers on reheating the food and it was also delicious. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Shane was our waiter. He was very nice and patient while we decided what to order. Tony and I started with fried shrimp that came with a sesame sauce. For our entrees, he had the "Ants climbing a tree" and I had the Mu Shu pork. Both were excellent. Big portions! Leftovers! Our friends had the spring rolls, beef with broccoli and general Tao's chicken. Also very good. Great place for Chinese foods!
China Garden Buffet
The staff is absolutely amazing. They are super friendly and they don’t hover. The food is so good. My family and I love to go here and eat. They constantly replace food and make sure it’s not sitting for to long so its always fresh. The tables are spaced nicely so you don’t feel crowded. It’s nicely lit up so it’s not dark and it truly feels welcoming. The prices are not over the top like most places are. I highly recommend you eat here. 10/10
Relaxed atmosphere. Management is wonderful. Easy to have conversations, easy access, plenty of oatking, great food.
Ho Wah Chinese Restaurant
Howah used to be the crown jewel of Chinese cuisine within a 50-mile radius—about 20 years ago. Back then, it was the go-to spot for flavorful dishes and consistent quality. Sadly, over time, it fell into decline, with overcooked meals and a building that started to feel neglected. Like many, I stopped going. But recently, I decided to give it another shot—and I’m so glad I did. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how refreshed the place looked. Whether it’s a renovation or new ownership, something has clearly changed for the better. It felt clean, welcoming, and like a place that once again cares about its customers. As for the food: it was a return to form. I ordered the tangy chicken with fried rice and crab Rangoon. Every bite took me back to the golden years—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The tangy chicken had just the right balance of sweetness and spice, and the crab Rangoon was crispy and creamy without being greasy. I’m happy to say that Howah is back on my rotation. I give it an 8.6 out of 10. Whether it’s a return to their roots or a fresh start under new management, one thing’s clear: they’re doing things right again. Great job, Howah.
Went today for lunch take out didn't receive what I ordered. General chicken smelled and tasted like ketchup ordered chicken fried rice and got some noodles not sure what's happened. Used to love this place. If I could give negative stars i definitely would. Be careful when ordering anything from here. Especially take out
Hong Kong Fast Food
A little review, I'll be back to edit it. I found this little place with exquisitely delicious Chinese food, the WOAO Chinese rolls are huge!! … The price is fair and the customer service is warm and fast. I will definitely be back.
$15 snack Food is good, but they don’t give you enough to fill up I took a few bites before I pulled off and this is what I was left with.
Fire Bowl
I've ate from this establishment for over a year and half and it's always been good! Well last night I get the same thing I always get.., unfortunately 5 hours later I'm throwing it up. Only thing I ate that day too... I guess I'm going to take a break from here for a little while.., but you guys need to make sure you're following food safety protocol. Like I said, my only issue I've had in going there in a year and a half so..., be cautious. I loved this food too!!! 😭
Stopped by for some takeout. Got the house imperial chicken dish with white rice. Asked for extra spicy. Large amount of chicken; not much vegetables and the spiciness level was low. Taste was okay but the heat was not there.
Chopstix
This was my son and I’s first time going to chopsticks and when we taste the food, my mind exploded the flavor is so good. It’s real and it’s authentic and they put love in it. Their customer service was awesome and on point they were kind as a family owned business and they are a loving family and they care about their customers. I have found my place. I will not be getting my food from anywhere else. It is truly a taste sensation that you will never forget! They made me very happy! And the prices are good and they give you a lot of food. See the picture. Treat yourself to this tasteful sensation!
We decided to try a different Chinese restaurant from where we normally go. After skimming through the reviews, we were a little hesitant, due to the several bad reviews. But despite that, we gave Chopstix a chance. And I will say, the food was perfect. We have zero complaints about to quality of what we ordered. I was ready on time. It was piping hot. We will definately go back in the future.
Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant
Ordered beef and broccoli. I have eaten here several times before. The first time I called to complain about my order, they hung up on me. The second time I called about my issue, which was that the beef and broccoli was gritty like the broccoli hadn’t been washed properly. I was told that the broccoli was washed. If it was, it wasn’t done well and every bite was gritty and Sandy. I couldn’t eat it and they didn’t care. I ordered here so many times and will not order back. So rude and terrible customer service.
Ordered from Door Dash and was happy with the timeliness of the delivery. I was not impressed with the quality of the food. The dumplings were hard at the edges indicating they may have gone from freezer to the microwave. The won Ton soup had no flavor. I ordered a spring roll and was provided an egg roll. I will have to be hard pressed to patronize again. Too expensive for the quality received.
China Maxim
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Tried them about 2 weeks ago and had a terrible experience. Order was not completely fulfilled, items out of stock, prices inaccurate on menu. I walked out missing 2 meals and the food was just ok. I was charged $61.10 on my receipt and upon checking my credit card statement “China Maxim” or “Hippo Kitchen” as they’re now calling it, charged me $144.50! Do not go here
This restaurant is a scam. Customers beware. Ordering takeout on their website was a compete nightmare. Missing large quantities of food, was charged literally double which was not reflected on my receipt, pretty sure this is illegal. No customer support provided. Was left with very little food and paid double for it… total scam.
Asian Garden
They rushed my food so they could go back to eating they own food my rice was hard and meat was chewy when I went back and they was rude to me yelling at me
One of the best places for takeout, couple running the place are awesome and very friendly
Golden Lake
The food was TRASH. The General Tso's chicken was soggy and way too spicy to consume. The Crab Rangoon was super chewy - either way undercooked or stale. Regardless, do NOT order from here. Instead, A Mandarin is much better. I would have ordered from them, but they are closed on Monday's. Unfortunately, I chose Golden Lake instead. I contacted them for a refund was more or less inedible, they refused. Horrible customer service I will never be back to Golden Lake.
I ordered on 3/20 because I was working late and the food was disgusting. Not fresh, not good, really greasy. The shrimp egg roll had the tiniest shrimp, the crab Rangoons were cold, gross and just poorly done. The pork in the fried rice was all fat and the rice tasted stale. I threw everything away. Waste of $15.
Panda Express
Very rude staff. Asked if I could sample the orange chicken. Response was “you’ve never had orange chicken before.” I said not from here. He says, “orange chicken is the same everywhere.” His coworker steps in and says actually it’s not and sends him to the back. This was the only reason I didn’t walk out right then and there. So disappointing because I come frequently during lunch breaks but the disrespect paired with high prices is not worth it. I will not be returning. Wok in the fashion district has a significantly friendlier staff.
Patricia, Maya, and Jayonna, was so pleasant and made sure my food was fresh!!!!! Been here so many times and never received the kind of service I received today from these ladies!!!!
China House - Pennsylvania
This was absolutely the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to in my life. We ordered Singapore rice noodles, house special fried rice and beef with broccoli. Everything was awful. The noodles were absolute mush. The rice was a very strange yellow color. Not normal for fried rice and the beef. I’m not quite sure what that was. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone ever.
We called and placed an order over the phone and the lady who answered the phone did not have a good grasp of English. Arrived and when we checked our order in the car there was missing items. Our order consisted of four lunch specials, dumplings, and a pint of fried rice. We received two lunch specials, one order of fried chicken, and dumplings. The price was as expected so I did not catch the error earlier. When my teenage brother went in they made one of the lunch specials to replace the fried chicken and when he told them we were still missing items a man came out of the back and began yelling at him. As the receipt they gave us was not itemized there was no way for us to prove that our order was incorrect. We can work with the order being wrong as that is something that occurs in business but for someone to think it is acceptable to yell at young customer is unprofessional. I would not recommend this establishment at all.
