The New Mandarin Chinese Restaurant of New City
Delicious food, everything was so fresh and flavorful. Scallion pancakes were probably the best I’ve ever had. The owner Rong is such a kind woman and you can tell she works so hard to make sure everyone is satisfied.
First time checking this spot out, and turns out they've got a new owner! Legit Chinese food! The owner lady is super friendly, and get this: if you're hankering for something off-menu, just give 'em a heads up a week or two ahead, or just ask on the spot and they might whip it up for you! We went all in with the Chongqing diced chicken (a total winner), the hot and spicy fish fillet, some flavorful fried rice, and the lo mein – gotta have that wok-char taste, right? Well, they nailed it! Overall, a great experience!
TR's Oriental
I had chicken with mushrooms and it was very fresh! Very flavorful and I really enjoyed it! The guy behind the counter kept saying thank you thank you thank you, maybe because people commented how he wasn’t very friendly, but he was very friendly to me. One gentleman from the back came out to have lunch and he said hello to me. This place is so reasonable and the food is very good! I just think that if they put a new outside sign and redid their walls and floor that it would attract more people to come eat there. They do a lot of takeout so obviously people like the food.
Okay where to begin. First off the staff was rude. The man taking my order at the register I had to tell him three times what I wanted. The waitress when she delivered it to me said absolutely nothing and basically slammed it on the table. The portion of food was definitely not worth it. I had General Tso's chicken and basically the sauce was bland and watered down. I had asked for them to please make certain that it was spicy and it was far from it. I ordered shrimp fried rice and found no shrimp in my rice. I ordered the large combo and had seven small pieces of chicken. This place used to be the restaurant you wanted to go to and Travelers Rest for good Chinese food however now I wouldn't recommend it for anything.
China King Greensburg
Wish we knew this was take out only when we got here. I went here 100% for the high reviews but was sadly mistaken once we got our sushi roll order...the tuna in 1 of the rolls was weird looking and could smell seafood, which shouldn't happen with fresh good sushi fish. I got it for me and our young daughter and didn't let her even have any after I saw some of the tuna was not fresh looking or smelling. It was almost gray and had a few small pieces in the roll, which is not good. Salmon roll was OK but also did not taste fresh and I was grossed out after seeing the tuna that I couldn't eat any more. Got wonton soup, and it was good but very generic, it's likely all the same pre packaged soup as any other standard Chinese style restaurant.
As a treat I stopped to pick up sushi (cooked) for my family. I was a little hesitant, we enjoy California rolls and I thought it would be some thing new to try, but I was not sure what to get. I appreciated the excellent customer service, when I made my order we went through the recommended items. My family was so pleased with the meal, we will be visiting next to try the hot menu! Thanks for your help today! 😊
Golden Wok
Wanted to try this place because their menu looked good. However, it was without a doubt thee worst Chinese food I’ve ever attempted to eat in my life. Crab Rangoon was decent. The actual meal? Sweet & Sour sauce was definitely no flavor that I had tasted before. The fried rice had zero flavor or typical vegetables in it. The egg roll tasted like whatever “meat” they through in there was bad. Do not and I mean 👏🏻DO NOT👏🏻 waste your money, time, or taste buds at this place. If I could give no stars for the food, I would. I will say that the only positive is that the wait staff was decent.
Every time I order from this place I get a completely different quantity and quality of food.(Crab Rangoon in particular) EVERY time I get a different item. Sometimes the food is pretty decent but the last 3 or 4 times the food has been so awful I don't even eat it. This Chicken and Broccoli was so bad I had to even spit it out...
Chang Tai Chinese Restaurant
Don't be discouraged by the looks. This small town Chinese restaurant is packed full of flavors. I got the bourbon chicken with broccoli and it was cooked perfectly. The fried cheese wontons were fresh and light served with lots of sweet and sour sauce. The lomein was simple yet delicious. I definitely recommend this place to any locals or travelers! Check it out and support the friendly owners! :)
Amazing authentic Chinese food in Columbiana. A sort of a hole in the wall spot but that doesn’t even matter because the food is unbeatable at these prices and the people there are super friendly and hospitable. Their lunch special is amazing. Please come and try their food, you will not regret it.
Chan's House
Friendly people! Their fried rice and pork chop suey were delightful. We also had General Tso’s chicken—generous portion with an abundance of sweetness. We were able to sit down and enjoy our meal since we didn’t want to eat in the car.
We ordered three fried ice and they only give me one fried ice and two white rice. They are not honest and also the quality of meat is poor. I didn’t expect much for a take out food, but my experience here really shocked me. We ordered three different dishes and they all taste the same. What a shame.
China One
Renovated fairly recently I’m new to the area so I didn’t try them before the changes But it is always very clean and the service is impeccable and they’re so Friendly. So refreshing if I had to work long day and don’t have time to cook the big meal. Ordering by phone or online it’s usually ready in 20 minutes or less. The food is good. If you’re craving Chinese and you’re an Eaton Rapids, this is the place to go to. It will Satisfy. If it’s your first time, it’s much tastier than panda express… But not something you would find in a larger city. I feed a Big family and There are no complaints. I love the running jokes on the community page. I hope the restaurant owners do not take offense to the playful banter. They have a good business That brings some diversity to this little town.
The Sweet and Sour Chicken was disgusting. We got carryout and the sauce was in a separate container, at first I was perplexed about what it was, it was this neon salmon color, I tried a small taste and just couldn't eat it. My husband got different dish which he said was ok.
China Star
Quick, tasty, standard Chinese food with lots of options. Takeout mostly, but some simple tables inside. Kinda grungy, but what else do you expect?
It was Christmas night and very few places were opened. This is a simple place mostly with carry-outs and a few tables to eat inside. The two soups we ordered were weak, but the pork dish with thin pancakes was very good. Hot tea is free and our whole bill was below $20.
Bamboo Gardens
Very nice.. small family owned restaurant. Food was fantastic and the service impeccable... doesn't look like much from the outside but well worth getting something to eat.
Spent 90 dollars drove a hr home and they forgot my 3 lg orders of pork fried rice!
Lin's Garden
Overall Score: 1.2/10 – A standard Chinese takeout spot with easy online ordering and prompt service, but the low-quality chicken and lack of spice ruined the overall experience. Atmosphere and Service: 4.2/10 – The restaurant is a typical takeout-only spot with a messy and unpolished appearance. The menu offers a nostalgic Boston-style selection that could appeal to some diners. However, the standout positive was the seamless online ordering process, which included an email receipt, and the food was ready on time. General Tso’s Chicken: 2.9/10 – A major letdown that ruined the entire experience. The chicken was of poor quality, with a significant amount of hard cartilage making it unpleasant to eat. Despite selecting “medium” spice, the dish lacked any heat or chili peppers, resulting in no spiciness at all. The combination of these issues overshadowed any potential positives and made the dish highly unsatisfactory.
So far this is the best Chinese food we've found in the area. If you want fortune cookies, make sure to ask for them! Wonderful family owned and run take out business.
Golden Palace
What a nasty place! Rude employees and disgusting food! Look at the brown rice wraps on the sushi they are supposed to be bright green-black! Loose watered-down hot mustard! Wasabi was watered down and looked like pistachio ice cream. Also requested fresh wasabi as well as packets of hot mustard and didn't give us either. Rude service talking in a foreign language about us paying for lunch at 26$ what a rip-off! Be warned.
This is a typical Chinese buffet with only 2 tables of main options, and one table with cold/dessert/sushi options. It is sufficient and the food was prepared acceptably. We were there a little early before dinner, so maybe they weren't quite stocked up for the dinner rush. Nothing was a stand out dish - good or bad. It is an acceptable option if you want a buffet dinner in Farmville, VA.
Hong Kong Kitchen
When I order, my food is always hot and ready. My food always tastes amazing. I highly recommend.
Yesterday was my first time ordering here at Hong Kong Kitchen in Farmville VA. They have an excellent selection of menu items. Also, smaller lunch size portions are available at very reasonable prices. Everything was packed up well in the to go bag. However, I wish they automatically would pack plastic utensils which were missing. I had to go back inside and request them. Nevertheless, the food was delicious!
