Cinders Wood Fire Grill
After a long while of passing by this place I decided to stop in one evening and I have no regrets. Very cozy atmosphere. I sat at the bar, the bartender Carol was very polite and friendly. She was on top of service despite it being busy. The drinks were all really good, especially her espresso martini (highly recommend). I had the shrimp tacos and the voodoo pasta, both were exceptional… I’ll definitely be coming back for more of Carols espresso martini and certainly want to try the other dishes because they looked great and smelled amazing when the servers were walking by with them. Definitely worth a try if you’ve never been
Went over tonight with my son who entered the Star-Wars trivia game. Had a good time. Short rib tacos were huge, filling and delicious. For dessert I got the key lime cheesecake, very good as well.
Mizuki Asian Fusion and Hibachi
Been here many times. Always good. Lunch special is a good deal. Tried the Rt 46 roll, it was ok but not for me. Seaweed salad special was good. Sushi pizza was huge. Came with Mango and thick rice pad.
Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, excellent sushi and par for the course pricing. Looking forward to trying their hibachi. Definitely a staple sushi 🍣 place in the area exceeding the others.
The Clay Oven Indian Restaurant
I’ve been coming to The Oven Clay since 2018, and it’s hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. The food is always amazing—fresh, authentic, and super tasty. Every single time I’ve been, it’s been delicious. The owner is so nice, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. It’s just a great vibe all around. If you’re wondering what to try, definitely get the kheema samosa—it’s my favorite! The Chicken Makhani and Lamb Korma are also fantastic, their Garlic Naam is also so so good. Honestly, anything you order here is going to be good.
I recently ordered take and unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience. The food was just okay, but the portion sizes were surprisingly small, especially considering how expensive everything was. I also wish I had known beforehand that it's a cash-only restaurant, which was a bit of an inconvenience. I was particularly disappointed with the Peshwari naan. It was dry, and the raisins and coconut tasted off, which was quite a letdown since I was really looking forward to it. Overall, I left feeling that the meal wasn't worth the price. With so many great Indian restaurants out there, I'm not sure I'll be returning to The Clay Oven anytime soon. ♿️Wheelchair accessibility is available here
Hanami Sushi & Asian Cuisine
Very nice and cozy restaurant. Good service and not super crowded. I was very surprised to see they had an all you can eat option for $31! Very reasonable. Their sushi is well filled and seems fresh. Not too much rice. Everything is as you would expect. I hope this place continues to thrive.
Solid sushi experience if your looking for rolls and a casual setting. New place is sparkling clean and staff were attentive. In picture top to bottom: American Dream Roll, Crunchy Eel Roll, Black Dragon Roll. The American dream roll was great and filling. Crunchy eel roll gives a good amount of eel if you’re going in for that fix. Black Dragon Roll was crunchy and nice.
Imperial 46 Restaurant
Imperial 46 is known for hibachi which we’ve tried a few times before. It’s fun and entertaining and the kids love it. Today we just went for sushi and I do think it’s one of the best sushi restaurant around in the area. We ordered a selection of rolls and also some salmon sashimi. All were delicious and fresh, particularly the salmon. Service is great and shout out to Uncle Eddie who is so funny! The manager also makes you feel very welcomed. Highly recommended
Dominican Server named Jordy is the best server! Food was amazing and the vibes were great! Such a good time
Hunan Noodle House
I would give zero stars if I could. Dumplings were undercooked (hard) and our Stirfry was pretty bad. The garlic cloves in the dish still had the paper peel on! Noodles hard(hardly cooked. I was worried I’d have a stomach upset after this meal. Didn’t come close to finishing it. 🤨
This place is horrible. It was a waste of moneyI order chicken wings and they look disgusting. My garlic shrimp was nasty. Not sure how they got more than 1 star on here because their food is not even edible.
Ashia Authentic Chinese & Japanese Cuisine
Ordered chirashi sushi from them a few weeks ago that was slimy and cut, like, 1/2” thick. On top of that I’d ordered an alacart piece of mackerel sashimi that was dryed out and yellowed. Thing looked and smelt like a freeze dried cat treat. The whole dish was iffy. Decided tonight to give them another shot but only stuck to the Chinese food and everything was bland and undercooked. House lomein was basically just warm plain noodles with chicken shavings. Pepper steak is basically raw peppers and onions with unseasoned meat scraps thrown in. Peanut dumplings had burned peanuts and garlic all over it. Been ordering from these guys for nearly 10 years, but never again. Plenty of fish in the sea, and unfortunately Ashia ain’t it anymore.
I have been living in this area for more than 12 years now, noticed the place all the times, never ventured. Today 5/14/2022 decided to give it a try. Bad idea. Place is ok, large, great access, next to a huge apartment community, all is good but the food is BLAND. So far my worst chines take out food with regards to taste experience. Food is BLAND. House special fried rice:- Recommendation, only fit for people those can not stand the sight of a speck of pepper. Not only BLAND, no taste, meat was less, understandably due to inflation. Quantity was fair. At best AVOID Broccoli Chicken:- Recommendation, only fit for people those can not stand the sight of a speck of pepper. Not only BLAND, no taste, no flavor, no aroma. Quantity was fair. At best AVOID Chicken Dumplings: I never saw the shape like a fan, like in underdeveloped countries, children put a three fold paper fan and stick it to a stick with a pin, well odd shape aside, it was OK, (if you can not get dumplings right, you should be garbage removal business, not in Chinese food.) Lady was nice, service was quick. Price is very reasonable, (again in this inflationary period.) Neatly packed. But what is the use if the food is so BLAND and tasteless. This is my feedback, may be it will work for you as spices input is ZERO, not at all stopping you all from patronizing local business in these hard and challenging times.
China King
Bought a spare rib, lunch special for my mother who is in a nursing home nearby sat down with her to eat it. It was the smallest 3 1/2 ribs I’ve ever seen. They were dry. They were not fresh. The small container was filled almost all the way up with rice And it came with an egg roll and a Snapple drink cost almost $13 ! After I got home, I called them to let them know. They were very polite and apologetic, but unwilling to replace the dinner they wanted to actually give me one rib as a replacement that is not how a reputable place would do business they must get a lot of complaints do not go, do not waste your money. It’s very disappointing to spend that kind of money on. Take away Chinese food and get ripped off. Container pictured is 6” diameter so you can imagine the 3”-4” ribs that it held
Can’t eat inside Chinese food spot in Jersey. Cool place to grab a quick bite but don’t expect anything special.
Ichiban Japanese Cuisine & Catering
“Excellent Sushi and Service!” Ichiban Japanese Cuisine never disappoints! Their sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the miso soup is warm and comforting. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making every visit enjoyable. Highly recommend!
From the moment we stepped into Ichiban Japanese Cuisine & Catering, we were greeted with a warm ambiance and spotlessly clean surroundings. The sushi bar added an authentic touch to the atmosphere, and the staff were not only polite but genuinely lovely, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. Our appetizers arrived promptly, setting the tone for a meal that exceeded our expectations. Each dish showcased the chef's expertise and dedication to quality ingredients. What's more, the pricing was incredibly reasonable for the outstanding quality of food we received. Ichiban has undoubtedly earned its place as a go-to spot for sushi lovers in Ledgewood, NJ. With such a delightful experience, it's no wonder we'll be returning soon to indulge in more of their delicious offerings.
Budd Lake Diner
Don’t let the simple outside fool you, delicious food inside!! We visited Budd Lake Diner as part of the Somerset Patriots Diner Passport and had a great meal. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and shown to a booth quickly. Lots of locals dining. Our waitress, Wendy, was great. Patient and friendly, she was happy to answer questions about the menu and was attentive throughout the meal. The menu is flavored, with lots of diner fare but also some new and fun choices. The yogurt banana cake special was delicious, and enough for two! Portions are generous. Lots of healthy choices. Accessible ♿️ Lots of families with kids. Four boys, after a game, sitting in the booth behind us having a great time eating and enjoying their Shirley Temples. What fun! Plenty of parking. Will definitely return… and soon because they make a great burger 🍔 just as burgers are supposed to be… juicy and tasty! So good!
The prime rib melt special was a tiny cold cut slice on a huge slice of bread. Half the plate was French fries. It was deceiving. The ham bean soup was ok. At noontime, the small seating area was booked & waitress was too busy to get our bill. I hadn't been there in 5 yrs & will choose a different location to meet a friend in the future. Not up to NJ diner par. Longhorn down the street has a better value & selection for lunch if you want steak sandwich.
Enzo's Ristorante & Pizzeria
Enzo’s Restaurant in Budd Lake, NJ, has been serving the best pizza since 1976, and it truly lives up to its reputation! Every bite is a delightful combination of perfectly crispy crust, rich and tangy sauce, and just the right amount of gooey cheese. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for family dinners or casual outings with friends. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. If you're in the area and craving top-notch pizza, Enzo’s is the place to go. Highly recommend! 💯/ag
Tried the pizza with veggies and the chicken Milanese. Food was very good and friendly staff.
China Wok
They never answer the phone so you can't order in advance, the doors are locked at random times during business hours, and when they are open, their credit card machines are always down so they want to to go find an ATM and pull out cash. That said, they're the only good fried wonton within 30 miles.
This place has excellent service and excellent food, made to order. I've been coming here for 16 years and the owners are the politest people you can meet! They love their customers and they treat them with respect. Their prices are very reasonable and they will give you tea and the crispy noodles if you ask for them free of charge. They are family owned and great with orders, never had a problem with mine! The wonton soup, pork fried rice, egg rolls and lo mien is awesome! The mooshu pork and chicken chow mien is a great dinner too. Everything I order is always hot, never cold and I just love the service you get from this place, honesty! I recommend this place to everyone who loves Chinese food!
