CURRY ZONE
Great delicious true Indian cuisine. Love the Biryani’s and all curry’s. Authentic and tasteful with spices. Nice large portion which are truly good for two people (other places like Mogul in Edison that I got Biryani’s from were only good for 1 and 1/2, here for real family of 3 can eat from one container that is good price, great taste and good portion size) You can order over the phone and they will have it ready. Give them at-least 30 mins when ordering. Sitting area is neat and beautiful feels cozy. Service is excellent. Raj is the owner he was very good and helpful. Spice level are 1-2-3 but please be careful as the level 3 spicy can really be spicy so start with mild. Only if you can handle Indian spice then go for level 3 spicy. I couldn’t handle it. Medium also was a lot for me and I eat spicy food. So sticking to mild which is perfect.
Overall, they are ok to moderate. Out of this world naan! Everything else is ok. The level of garlic is over the top and tends to ruin the experience. Aside from the insane garlic in the dish, the paneer tikka masala is quite good. The Chana masala is a disappointment and just tastes like overly-boiled, mushy chicken peas in brown meat gravy. Had one extremely bad experience dining in. Food took over 2 hours to arrive. There appeared to be only one person working and he had a very bad attitude. I’ve never dined in again there since. I still order takeout occasionally but the garlic always throws me off. I only go back for the naan and because it’s the only Indian in the area.
Frank's
Great neighborhood Italian joint. Their food has been good and consistent over years. We have been going here almost 10 years now. All Pasta’s are very good. Pizza they sell by slices also for a quick bite. The main entrees come with a salad and warm garlic bread which is really delicious. If you add additional anything to your dish make sure to ask the server what it would cost. We ordered a pasta with asparagus from there specials menu and I requested to add few shrimps and it was $34.50 more then the original price of $23 which was not right I felt for 4-5 shrimps charging over $10 at a local pizzeria. The pasta dish with shrimp was only $26 then why this much extra. Well it depends on the server you get and what she wants to charge you! We got three salads with the entrees - Two of the salads we got were only plain lettuce - no tomatoes no onions no olives nothing only plain lettuce with some carrot shavings. One salad was beautifully made with tomato, onions, olives, carrots everything nicely. So that also I believe depends on the server who is taking care of you. Otherwise there pastas and food has remained great since all the years.
Great service but crummy food. This is the last time I’ll dine there out of convenience. I’ll let the spongy fatball tender in my chicken parm do the talking
Bo Bo Kitchen II
It's not just the only local Chinese food place, it's good. They're very polite, food is great, what else is the to say? While you can eat in, it's definitely geared more towards takeout and they're great at it.
Inconsistent, sometimes it's delicious and exactly what you would want, on other occasions it's mediocre. The prices are fair and the counter lady is very nice and sweet. Convenient for being in rural New Jersey.
Bamboo House
Bamboo has always been the best! Went on NYE. Definitely a chaotic night & I wish they had a better system in place for to go orders so people aren’t waiting outside for 2+ hours. But besides that, food was hot and fresh like always. Spicy basil chicken is packed with flavor and the spring rolls are the best.
Incredible!!!! The sushi cake I hope never leaves the specials menu. It was amazing I have been dreaming about it since I got it
Panda House
Been sick for two days. Ordered egg roll and shrimp roll I suggest they change the fryer oil. Wonton soup yuk. Wontons were not fully cooked and the broth was like water no taste. Ordered Sunday still sick.
The food here is phenomenal. I order a steam dumpling, chicken and broccoli and general tso chicken. The food came out fresh and it was savory. Would 100 percent come back.
Savory Thai - Flemington
I have been going here for over 5 years. This will be my last visit. The Rama the King Chicken dish portion is embarrassing for $20 (see photo). Also the soups are now served in a small container that is about 1/2 the size of what a typical restaurant would serve. There was also barely any beef in the noodle dish we ordered. The food quality is ok but the absurdly small portions and lack of protein in noodle dishes are offensive for the prices they charge.
Tris is very personable and helpful person! The food is very good my husband orders something almost everyday for lunch at work. So good! He took me in to try and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend the basil chicken and of course their drunken noodles.
Asian Yummy
First timer here! However, definitely not my last visit! We came for a lunch, ordered curry with tofu and rice on the side and everything was perfect! Food came super fast, veggies were fresh, tofu was yummy and overall it definitely did hit the spot! I appreciate vegan options very much. The owner was super sweet and friendly, highly recommend to try their food out! Take care&see you very soon!
First time eating here since the pandemic, so it has been quite some time. I am shocked at how small the portion for the lunch special is and they don't offer a fortune cookie with your meal. It just seems like an obvious way the restaurant is cheap at the customers expense. The restaurant looks nice inside at least.
Flemington Diner
Oh there’s nothing quite like a Jersey diner. Had the best breakfast I’ve had in ages. Ordered a spinach, onion, and mushroom omelette with potatoes, whole grain toast, and a side of Taylor Ham (aka pork roll). The veggies were all fresh and completely filled the thin delicate omelette. The potatoes were crisp in all the right places. The Taylor Ham - 4 slices! - was just a bit charred and so very tasty. Even the toast tasted great with sweet butter. Service was excellent. Food arrived quickly. Huge menu with something for everyone. Breakfast all day. Clean dining room and bathrooms. And there’s plenty left over for breakfast tomorrow (if I can wait that long, LOL). If you’re in the area, go. You won’t be sorry.
Stopped in while driving by the area. Pleasantly surprised. Expansive menu of the typical diner food that you would find in NJ. Shannon was our server, very knowledgeable and attentive. Frequently checked on us. It was lunch time and very busy but we were seated pretty fast. Would definitely come back, highly recommended.
Cilantro Garden
While coming back from Chicago, we stopped here for lunch… The town looks like no one visits, but given its houses & churches arc style, it seems this area must be a great spot in its heyday Coming to the restaurant- We were the only ones there so no rush! The Owner himself cooks/serves & bills. One man does all the job. We ordered- Ghee Dosa Dat Tadka & Chapati Dosa was good and so was its dal. Simple but best! The only thing which I did not like was its plastic plate & spoons. It is not a fast-food joint and I am paying what normal restaurants charge. I understand due to cost cutting, the owner provides service like this, but I won’t come where food is served in plastic Other than that, the food was good, service was a bit slower (Single man does all the job), and clean restaurant.
The food! The variety of flavors that arrived at our table was delectable. Every dish had its own distinct flavor and all were delicious. The service was attentive without being overwhelming. We had the Idly and Veda combo, the chicken Kottu Parotta, and another dish that had a wonderful sauce... I will be going back to figure out what it was. The menu offers many vegetarian options.
Kyoto Japanese Restaurant
Kyoto is always a pleasure and has some great and tasteful food with great service nice calm atmosphere would definitely recommend .
The food has a beautiful presentation. The food itself quality was sub par. The sushi was good quality but the price was very pricy. They location is in a awkward spot off a main road and the restaurant is fairly small. I had two apps, two regular rolls, two special rolls with a up-charge for real crab, also a side salad. The portions were good enough to share for two.
Panda Bistro
If you're looking for a very lovely hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant, Panda Bistro is a very nice secluded lunch destination. There is in-door seating with about 5 seats. The food is a pretty solid B+ which is pretty good for what the restaurant is. Plenty of parking and it's generally pretty quiet in the restaurant.
This spot is right by my house so thought we’d give it a try. For a little cheap Chinese food restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. The meat quality was great! I’m super picky about Chinese food chicken and this was the real deal;) I had the General Tso combo, my husband had the happy Family, and kids had the teriyaki. Servings are good and the sauces…superb! There was only one wonton in the side that came with the meal but it was a side so no biggie. The interior was pretty cute and clean. The lady taking my order both times was really friendly as well. I hate it when they rush you!
Catanzareti Pizza
•Update to add: if you haven’t tried their grandma pie which is a square garlicky perfection, please do. It is outstanding and incredibly delicious. You’re welcome ;) Great place for a local pie. Their pizza is our go-to for our weekly pizza fix. They were closed a day recently and we were forced to try another Lambertville pizzeria. What a disappointment. This place will always have our business. Fresh and delicious.
Absolute amazing pizza. Very kind and genuine service. Will choose this place every time I come to new hope/ lambertville.
