New Bamboo Kitchen
The former restaurant is now under new management and with a new name. Dumpling House is now open and off to a great start. My review to follow
Beef chow fun was delicious. Tender beef slices and flat rice noodles in a flavorful sauce.
Gim's Chinese Kitchen
I could definitely say Gim’s is my favorite to-go restaurant in the whole of Bay Area and that says a lot!! Everything is really good but my favorite is the sweet & sour pork over rice. Lunch menu is cheaper so it’s better to order around that time. Now they have knick-knacks on the side available to purchase. Definitely will keep coming back to this hidden gem in Alameda! 😋👍🏼
This was the worst Chinese I’ve had. Years ago this place had good food. Honey walnut prawns were served with peanuts! Really? All of the food was bland and just tasted like salt. Very disappointed! I threw out $65 of food after trying everything.
Panda Express
The worst service my husband ever received from Panda Express. They close at 9 p.m. my husband arrived ten minutes early before closing last night May 3, 2025, just for a plate of orange chicken and chowmain for my kids. The girl who was working there told my husband that she couldn't help him because they didn't have any more orange chicken, but they still had some she just didn't want to take his orden. We've come other times late and they've served us. The girl was very rude. Is sad that because of workers like her they lose customers.
Great staff and fast service at this Panda Express location. The food was available for pickup at the requested time and the preparation was solid for party order with adequate utensils, plates and condiments. The food was hot and fresh and was popular.
China Inn South Express
We ordered around dinner time and the rice seemed like it was from earlier that day and the crab ragoons were super hard. The food didn’t seem very fresh. I have ordered from here before with the same results.
Dont kmow whos running this place now, quality and flavor of food has gone down. Picked up an order on 2/14/25, was told 30 min on phone, actual time was 1 hour before my order was ready. Got the order home and found i was missing two dinners and no rice , never going back.
Lucky Chopsticks
Such a cozy spot with a welcoming vibe! If you’re looking for quick food that still feels a little elevated, this is the place. I stopped by today and had the Vegetables chow mein and Teriyaki chicken—both only $9.99, and honestly, they hit the spot. The portions were bigger than I expected and everything tasted super fresh. You can tell they actually care about the food they’re putting out. It’s hard to find places these days that keep prices reasonable without skimping on quality, but this one does it right. I’ll definitely be back!
I ordered shrimp fried rice today, its was amazing! Big shrimp and fresh cook ( they cook to order) . It's hard to find a place that makes fried rice with that perfect traditional Chinese Flavors, but this one nailed it. Service is nice and fast. Supper yummy, highly recommend!
Dragon Town
This place was decently close to getting a 5 stars from me. However, one item I tried was essentially inedible, and it was an entree, so I can't give the, full marks. Tonight, I had the fried donuts, mango cake, and roasted pork egg roll, and honey chicken. The first thing I tried was the mango cake, which seems to only be seasonally available. It was very, very good! It tastes homemade too. Not too sweet, fluffy, and delightful. You won't feel terribly full or on sugar-overload after finishing a few of these. And, the value is amazing: 3 pieces for just over $2! (4.75/5) Next, I tried their roasted pork egg roll. It was also very good. The pork didn't really taste "roasted" but it was decent. They give you plenty of sauces to dip the roll in (duck, soy, mustard). It's crispy and filled pretty well (4/5). Their donuts were also delicious. Clearly they are quite simple to make, but again, the value and flavors matched my expectations and definitely satisfied me. A full 10 for just $6 and change. Plenty of sugar drizzled all around them. (4/5) Now, for the only majorly disappointing factor in this meal, the honey chicken. If the entree is terrible, the rating and pleasure you get from a meal is going to drop significantly. Here, it was just a mess. Gloppy, most breads, soggy, no flavor in the sauce. Portion size was okay, bit smaller than other places but it's also cheaper. I will say that I like that they are using white meat chicken. (2/5) They give you the standard free fortune cookies with any visit or order. There's also complimentary free rice with every entree, I believe. But, their rice is a bit weird. Small kernels and odd aftertaste, too crunchy as well. (2/5) All in all, this place definitely has some delicious options, but some entrees miss the mark entirely. I recommend staying away from the breaded/fried meat options and choosing something like ribs or chicken and broccoli instead. Mango cake, egg rolls, and donuts are quite good, though.
My favorite place to get Chinese takeout in Pittsburgh. After moving from NYC, we have been looking for 1 decent Chinese place for delivery and I think this is as good as it will get in Pittsburgh. Delivery is always fast and shows up hot and fresh. Egg rolls are my favorite and have a hint of cinnamon and the “amazing” chicken was the worst thing we had (Americanized junk).
Yama Sushi Bar & Chinese Food
Been living in Hawthorne for 7 years and just about gave up on finding good Chinese food. This place is not good, it’s AMAZING!! Food is so fresh and it’s always consistent. The shrimp and broccoli is the best I’ve ever had! Gigantic shrimp cooked to perfection! And delivery is always exactly on time and still hot!! I’m thrilled I didn’t give up!!
High quality food! Nice people Fair prices
New Panda Garden
Delivery order. Sliced roast pork was overcooked, dry and thin smothered in a nasty sauce of your choice. The sauce on my order of beef and oyster sauce taste like top soil along with it being tiny chewy bits. French fries ok.
Updating my review from 5 to 1 stars. When they opened they were amazing. Now their sesame chicken barely has chicken in it. It's mostly breading... Very disappointing. Same goes for all. Sadly 1 star
Great Beijing Chinese Restaurant
We happily drive 40 min just to eat here! Since moving to Chicago 25 years ago, this spot has been my go-to for amazing "Korean Chinese" food. While it’s quite a drive from where I live, the hospitality, consistent food quality, and affordability make it well worth the trip. From the moment you arrive, the owner’s warm greeting sets the tone, and we’re often served by the same server—a sign of a happy and well-run establishment. As someone with experience in the F&B industry, this speaks volumes. Happy employees lead to happy customers. Our usual order includes 짜장면 (black bean noodles), 짬뽕 (spicy seafood noodles), and 탕수육 (sweet & sour pork). Occasionally, we’ll add dishes like 깐풍기 (crispy garlic chicken) or 고추잡채 (stir-fried spicy peppers and pork). Every dish is flavorful, generously portioned, and consistently delicious. It’s clear that this restaurant has built a strong reputation and continues to serve its community with pride.
06/30/24 I ordered today thru grubhub for a pick up. I’ve actually ordered and ate at this location before so I’m surprised with my experience. Pick up was today at 1:45-1:55, I arrive and three ladies walk past me, don’t even greet or ask if I need anything since I’m just standing there. Literally waited more than I should to even get my order and even talk to anyone. If busy, I would understand but currently they’re not at all, and that is not an exaggeration. My partners orange chicken was okay, I’ll give that 4 stars. I ordered the chow mein with shrimp. An expensive chow mein- but I’m literally missing the noodles. It is filled with just shrimp and lettuce and vegetables and in a soup/liquid. I thought I had a soup when I opened it. I attached a photo for reference. I ate all the shrimp which were okay, nothing crazy. The soup/liquid is alright, I’m surprised I could have very little flavor in something drenched with so much. Honestly I dislike my entire experience and food, for a pricey items that honestly are not. If this is THEIR version of chow mein please skip it and never order. Don’t expect to be greeted or spoken too unless you look a certain way too probably. I definitely won’t be ordering here again.
