Chef Chan Restaurant
Pick up and cash only! I knew the food was going be great because of these restrictions! Huge portions, delicious flavors and the best prices around the area. I'm an egg roll snob and these were excellent! Egg Fu Yung was so flavorful and lo mein was delicious. Probably the best Chinese I've had! I just found my new spot!
The food from here is just about the most affordable you can get from about any restaurant in the area. The different chicken and roast pork dishes they offer are my personal favorite, along with the Hot and Sour soup. Can't say the same about the Wonton Soup or the lo mein unfortunately, but there's plenty more options to choose from. Getting a free can of soda for every $20 you spend is a bonus I haven't seen other restaurants emulate, so that's nice. FYI: they don't take cards, only cash for transactions.
Rice Shop
So I decided to try a new spot and unfortunately I didn't read the reviews 1st. I spent $40 and u can see what I got in yhe images. I ordered the pepper steak and fried rice. I wanted to try the pineapple fried rice. The lady said it was $2 dollars more, I said np. Sadly they just threw some can pinapples in bland fried rice. Also the steak had a weird texture very soft not like steak at all. Next order was chicken and broccoli with white rice. Rice was good. Chicken also had odd texture. Finally shrimp lomein, not bad pretty basic nothing special. The 2 stores is for the fried chicken it was pretty good. So in short I won't order from the again. They can do better.
So i like to completely say not one thing nice about this place. The guy at the counter was rude and disrespectful i asked for extra soy sauce multiple times and he continued to hand me one at a time, even after i offered to pay extra for more sauce. On top of that this bug came out of my rice. Completely gross and unsanitary. Don’t give these people your business 1 they don’t deserve it and 2 the staff is disrespectful
Szechuan Opera
I absolutely loved the food and my entire experience at Szechuan Opera. This is one of those restaurants where there's so much variety on the menu that you can easily have a huge meal and spend a lot of money, or simply go in for a quick meal and not break the bank. I went there on a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm, and at that time there was no wait to get in. It was just my friend and I, so they seated us in the mezzanine level that had booths (each booth could seat 4 people). The tables at the booths are very large and we were very happy with the seating. If you're on a date or have 4 people, or you just like booth seating, you should request to be seated up there. The menu quality was excellent, with many photos of popular dishes and a spice level next to the dish names. Our server Sean was extremely helpful and polite. I started our interaction by asking him what the best/most popular items on the menu were and he provided me with a good number of dishes and asked me what my spice tolerance was to make sure I didn't order anything I couldn't handle. Once he gave us all that info, he offered to come back when we were ready. When we did order, I chose to order his top suggestion for what his personal favorite dad, which was the Spicy Dry Hotpot, and we also ordered General Tso's Chicken, an order of soup dumplings, roast pork buns, and scallion pancakes. We asked to make sure the General Tso's Chicken was made a little extra crispy. To our pleasant surprise, our dishes started coming out very quickly. Everything looked and smelled delicious. The Dry Hotpot came in a large metal bowl that had a burner that they lit underneath to keep it hot. The dry hot pot really stood out as the centerpiece of our meal, and could have fed two people. It was filled with lots of red pepper flakes for the spice, beef, shrimp, spam, fish, plus a variety of vegetables (green and red peppers, locust root, cauliflower and cabbage) but it also contained two things I was happily surprised to see. One of the items was little balls of Mei fun (angel hair) noodles laid over itself in a neat ball and tied up with its own noodles into tasty little noodles balls. The other I'm not 100% sure about, but it might have been a green bean tied up in a knot. Both were really cute and delicious finds in the hot pot. The whole dish is pretty spicy (my friend wasn't into how spicy it was), but that was exactly what i wanted. It is a very salty dish, though, so if you have any issues with salt, either ask the server to have the kitchen modify the dish for you, or avoid this. The General Tso's Chicken was perfect and the sauce was sweeter than spicy. Overall, the entire meal tasted perfect to me. The decor of the place was awesome. The artwork and furniture was really cool. While seated in the mezzanine, you can either sit on the side that looks out into the mall, or on the side that looks down on the main label of the restaurant. I sat on the side looking out into the mall. Servers have their tablets slung over their shoulders and when you want to pay, it's a very quick transaction right on the spot. When leaving it was getting closer to dinner time and a line was forming at the door for seats. There's also a to go kiosk outside the entrance if you want that option. It might be slghtly limited compared to the sit down menu. I would definitely return for the delicious food, the cool decor, and the professional, quick and friendly service!
Came on a Saturday and was craving real Chinese food. This place does not disappoint. Great service and nice interior. The food was very high quality
Mr. Mian Noodle House
Even though it’s in a mall food court, this noodle soup and dumpling restaurant is better than you’d think. The menu is well thought-out and the packaging helps the food stay fresh and warm for dine in or takeout. The soup dumplings were quite good, the veggie noodle soup had plenty of veggies, and the rib noodle soup had a very generous serving of rib. The beef broth in both soups was pretty good too.
Tried the noodle here again - definitely good! And the bubble tea (original) had the weird bubbles (not tapioca in the same way but more hard jelly) but the tea was good, not too sweet! Mall seating is a bit dirty, though not their fault.
King Kong Express
I had a nice experience this afternoon. The food was fresh and tasteful. The pepper steak was done just the way I like it, meat tender and veggies crisp. The service was swift and pleasant. I would definitely go back again. The plantains looked tasty. I hope they look like that on my next trip there! The price was great, wish I would gotta double pepper steak, but the general tso was good as well.
I never leave bad reviews but when safety comes into place be careful. Ate here yesterday and have been violently vommitting over night. 2 other family members had just a bite of my food and were throwing up as well. Staff were also joking/laughing when I was waiting to order. Had chicken and brocolli and orange chicken.
New Taste of China
I used to love this place but I guess they’re under new management. The portions are small & whoever answers the phone will depend on if you get the deal on flyer. Pork fried rice is flavorless and chicken was chewy. Picture of “Large” fries
The food was delicious, and the takeout was so easy. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon. Highly recommend!
Vanessa's Dumpling House
Not sure why the reviews are so low We waited roughly 20 - 22 minutes (which is more than reasonable) Food: 5 Dan Dan mien noodles 🍜 (my order) 3 bubble milk tea 🧋 4 mango 🥭 smoothie 5 chicken and spicy beef dumplings 🥟 and the oil provided tasted great (according to my sis) Atmosphere: 4 seating area great for families and couples There were mostly families and tourists eating peacefully, and great food options within walking distance on the same level I would definitely eat there again Recommendation: Dan Dan Mien noodles w/ hot oil
Well I’m pretty confused about the other reviews. This place tastes nothing like the original location in grand Street. The dumplings are even smaller. They sell kimchi?? It tastes more like Cole slaw. The noodles and the pancakes are good. I guess I made the mistake of ordering dumplings at a dumpling house
Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao
This restaurant isn't even open while on google maps it says open, I literally went there and it said coming soon. But on google maps currently it says it's open and it has 2 reviews saying it's good? Lol. Alright.
This is one of the best restaurants I have ever tried. Their stir fried udon is insane
