Wow Cafe
If you're in New Jersey and craving authentic Chinese flavors, this restaurant is a must-visit. They bring the taste of China right to your table with dishes like the **Stir-Fried Beef Hot Pot** and the **Braised Delicacies Pot**. These dishes are packed with rich flavors and textures that will give you a true taste of traditional Chinese cuisine. **Stir-Fried Beef Hot Pot**: This dish is made with tender slices of beef, cooked with bean curd sticks, black wood ear mushrooms, and a hint of chili pepper. The beef is juicy and flavorful, while the bean curd and mushrooms add a satisfying, unique texture. The slight spiciness from the chili gives the dish an extra kick, making each bite a perfect balance of flavors. **Braised Delicacies Pot**: This one is for those who want to explore deeper flavors. The pot includes braised pork trotters, chicken feet, and pork intestines, all simmered to perfection. Each piece is infused with rich, aromatic spices, making the meat tender and full of flavor. The pork trotters and chicken feet are melt-in-your-mouth soft, offering a savory and slightly gelatinous texture that's popular in Chinese cuisine. These dishes are a true representation of Chinese comfort food, bringing warmth and nostalgia with every bite. If you're looking to experience authentic Chinese flavors in New Jersey, these dishes will give you a delicious introduction to the depth and variety of Chinese cooking. Don’t miss out!
We are very happy to find a Hong Kong style cafe in New Jersey! The bake pork chop with cheese is delicious. The Hong Kong Style tea with milk is authentic and delicious. The milky cream French toast is superb and must have! We will definitely come back again.
Spice 24
Spice 24 has been a staple in my household for the past 7 years. The food was always 10/10 prior to the renovations. After the renovations, I recently went to the location and the ambience has definitely improved. However, the dry pot bowl is not what it used to be. We ordered the black bean sauce - which barely had any black beans and was lacking flavor. The food was oilier and has lost its charm of being flavorful and saucy/spicy. Not sure if the chef has changed but please bring the old spice back. We will still be going for a few more times, hoping that our feedback is received.
If you’re a fan of mala, spice 24 is the place to go! I’ve been here several times and I always get the mala dry pot and leaves a nice numbing feeling on your tongue. It’s super easy to order if you want to customize your dish and I’ve never had trouble getting seated right away. You also get a small discount if you pay in cash. I find that the portion size is pretty big and I always have leftovers to bring home!
Wu's Shanghai Dumpling(Edison) 上海小笼
Disappointed in what this restaurant changed compared to pre-COVID times. It used to be one of my family’s favorite restaurants with quality fresh handmade dishes but as many others noted, it has become a like fast food takeout place. Extremely disappointed that the soup dumplings came out with the skin open and soup all spilled both times that I came in the past week. This was immediately after they were delivered to us at the restaurant. The taste is not the same either- they taste very gummy as if they are all steamed directly from being frozen. For comparison, I uploaded photos of what they used to be- they used to be amazing but not anymore. Some of the other dishes are still okay, but I’ll definitely be visiting less frequently. Come here only if you want fast food quality food. Even if you want to dine in, everything now comes in disposable containers which is very wasteful and not eco-friendly.
So the service is non-existent. You order your food from a kiosk machine. And then sit down and wait for your number to be called. The soup dumplings were not bad. The noodles were pretty good, but the spicy chicken was a cold dish. I did not know, and I did not eat it. Overall, it was a good experience and not expensive.
Mala Town Edison自选麻辣烫
A wonderful place to eat with friends and family! So delicious and the staff are so nice! They helped me save me money and I am so happy with the quality of the food and the pricing! I highly recommend! You can get a lot of good food for a great price! I will definitely be coming back! The staff are just the best too! Helped me and my friends save money and they are so kind. Definitely makes this place even better!!
amazingggg, i love how you can choose how much of everything you want so everything is personalized. and usually i never end up paying more than $20 so its also super affordable and very worth the price 🙏🙏 i always get the classic bone broth mild and i make my sauce spicy so i can adjust how much spice i have in each bite 😊 i always leave super full and very satisfied!!
S&Y Mini HotPot 蜀世冒菜
The flavors of the "Suan Cai Huoyu" (Sour Cabbage Fish) and "Mala Xiang Guo" (Spicy Hot Pot) are absolutely mouthwatering! The Sour Cabbage Fish is perfectly balanced, with tender fish cooked in a tangy and aromatic sour cabbage broth that brings out a unique depth of flavor. The Mala Xiang Guo, on the other hand, is a fiery explosion of spices and savory ingredients, combining the perfect amount of heat and fragrance to create a truly irresistible dish. Both dishes offer a harmonious blend of textures and bold flavors that captivate the taste buds with every bite.
Service was great and they were attentive! The flavors were so good, a lot of garlic I must say. It was a good amount of spice and a HUGE portion. I definitely would come back. It is a bit pricy but that’s typical for creating your own mini hot pot. The parking is very limited and you have to park on the side road. We ordered 10 items with mild spicy level. It was more than enough food for 2 people.
Sultan Wok Highland Park
We ordered take out and it was rather disappointing. The crab rangoons were not crispy and had a layer that was really chewy in the dough which seems to indicate it wasn't cooked all the way through. (The hand position was not meant to be suggestive) The pork in the pork ho fun was super dried out and the sauce was not very flavorful. The dumplings had super thick and doughy wrapping which was unpleasant. The kani salad was severely watery and limp. Like the kani was defrosted and the water wasn't pressed out. Our order of chow mein is a dish of shredded napa, bean sprout, and pork stir fry which was was cut very small resulting in it being very limp and sad. The singapore noodle and white tuna roll were okay.
I love the chicken and broccoli! I always order the lunch special they really cool with the heart I'm always satisfied. I love it here! Also the service is always great. They always greet me and are super kind.
Chef Tan Highland Park
Absolutely the most authentic Chinese food. I’ve tried so far in America. I loved the dishes here. We ordered so much food we could barely finish everything. While I would say the serving portions aren’t a lot it is still so worth it. The desserts were amazing too. My favorite is the rice 年糕. This place is a solid 10/10 if I lived in the area, I would definitely eat here every week. The 包菜 was so good; my friend and I finished the plate clean. The chicken we got was perfect too so crispy, spicy and just the right seasonings. There is streetside parking and it is free if you plan on coming here. The design of the restaurant is very nice as well a lot of cultural decorations here and there. Overall, good vibes. The waiters do seem pretty busy so you won’t be getting amazing service, but the food is so worth it.
The old customers of this store, as always delicious, equal to my second canteen, eat at ease, the restaurant dishes are very complete, there are many can eat, and the taste is super, super delicious, highly recommended!! The amount is very delicious, delicious, delicious, delicious. The taste is authentic, the dishes are rich, the ingredients are fresh, the taste is authentic, it is reassuring to eat, the customer satisfaction is high, it is recommended, the taste is excellent, and it makes people feel very hungry at a glance, it belongs to the more exquisite type. The dishes were also fresh, mildly salty, and the heat was just right
Hunan Manor
I really love this traditional Chinese food restaurant! It's one of the few places I visit at least once a week or take out. The food is always fresh, delicious, and authentically prepared, reminding me of home-cooked meals. This restaurant will never let me down. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a genuine taste of traditional Chinese cuisine!
The Hunan cuisine at this restaurant is very authentic. Whether it's the signature fish, braised pork, or marinated noodles, everything is delicious. The dishes are served quickly, and you can taste the freshness of the stir-fry. Additionally, the service and ambiance are both great, making this restaurant highly recommended.
Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille
This review is for the Tea in the Parlor Cars experience. We enjoyed this experience overall. There was plenty of delicious sandwiches and pastries, and the tea was very good. The atmosphere is also wonderful because of the luxurious vintage parlor cars, especially paired with the vintage tea sets. However, I am deducting a star because the service lacked a bit. It took a while for the staff to come around after we finished the tea in our teapot, so there was a lot of waiting with no tea in our teacups. But we were eventually able to try 3 flavors. Overall, I would recommend this experience if you love tea and are looking for something unique to do!
A perfect place for special dinners including birthdays & anniversaries, but it’s also a great date night for couples. The main dining room is beautiful (sit upstairs if you can and enjoy the chandelier and stain glass ceiling) I love the old world elegance (but not stuffy) decor with dark wood & cozy leather booths. If you are lucky, the live piano will add to the ambiance. Service is always attentive. Steaks are excellent, fish is good. Be sure to get the mashed potatoes and onion strings on the side. Start with the BTL salad or tuna tartar. Save room for dessert, too.
China city ll
We order the food first they don't take American express which is understandable but they charged $33.59 for two orders of broccoli and one large white rice. Now we get home to see that they half filled both broccoli containers and put no meat In there. We had to go back and get a refund 1/10 experience would not recommend.
Even as a takeout spot, it stands alone. The food could rival an actual dine in restaurant. Fried rice in the lunch special was nice and smokey. Kung Pao chicken was fresh and egg drop soup was crisp and hearty.
Thai Thai Cuisine
This Thai place is one of, if not the best Thai restaurant ever. My parents have been coming here for over 20 years! Even when it changed ownership the food has remained delicious. I always recommend any of my friends to come here for some delicious Thai food. Especially during lunch, when the prices are reasonable and you even get a nice salad with it. It’s also BYOB so it’s nice to pick up a few beers or wine at the liquor store next door. Really enjoy their Drunken noodles but honestly anything you get here is good.
We haven't been here in years, but was glad our friends suggested it. Drunken noodles w/chicken was very good and Beef in Green curry was tasty. Everyone seemed to enjoy their apps and entrees. BYOB with a liquor store 2 doors away. Good service as well.
Ocean Garden
We love ordering from Ocean Garden and do it weekly when our daughter takes dance class. The owners are super friendly, and the food is always fresh, hot and delicious. The price too is super reasonable, hands down our fav Chinese takeout spot in NJ. It’s authentic too, I am Chinese myself and I appreciate the effort they put into the food. We especially love the boneless spare ribs, dumplings, and the chow fun, the kids prefer this place than anywhere else we order. Support your local business!!
Charged me for an extra fried rice that I didn’t order! Try to called them and didn’t answer! Always review your order, because they would add stuff without you telling them to
