BeiJing Hot Pot
I love this place. It's my second time to thos place. Before everything I like to mentioned the place is HALAL certified. So Muslim non-muslim can come and try the restaurant. Foods are really awesome, specially the fish items. Meats are also nice. You guys can try spicy broth if you can. Don’t forget to order the chilli sausage. They also have bubble tea and other fruits drinks. First time when we went there we reserved the seat. But second time we didn’t. Funny thing is first time we were me and my wife and second time we were five people.
The staff was very nice, and the service was great. The food was all good, I got the spicy broth which was very flavorful. My friend got the original broth which she enjoyed as well. Everything came out really fast, and they have good portions and are very decently priced. The hot pot comes with a generous amount of sides which is also a plus.
No. 1
Listen, this was my 1st time ordering from here and everything I ordered was the best Chinese food I’ve tasted in years!!! I ordered the large wonton Soup and small egg drop wonton soup. The broth was the most tastiest full filling soup. I was shocked to find out it had pieces of roast pork and scallions in it as the place where I’m from dropped the ball with these additives that are supposed to be in the soup. Not only that you get 3 wontons in a small verses the 2 wontons that my local area sells. This was way more than I bargained for. I also ordered the fried chicken wings and teriyaki chicken and everything tasted so fresh and juicy. The fried chicken was Seasoned to perfection inside and out. 10/10 I do recommend. I will no longer be ordering from my local Chinese restaurant as this is thee best I’ve ever tasted. Thank you New No.1 for the exceptional service and great tasting quality food.
This is a very good Chinese restaurant! The food is yummy. The service is friendly and fast. Inside is clean. Plenty of free parking in the back and a few spots out front. Perfect pricing for Lunch time. Good selection of americanized chinese food. But the prices at dinner time are super expensive so i had to drop this by 1 star. Just eat here at lunch time for a perfectly reasonable $7 to $8 per person meals. At dinner time, the prices jump sky high to nearly $40 for 2 meals. And funny story about this place... the first time i visited here maybe 10 years ago, there was 1 flourescent lightbulb partially burned out at the front counter on the far right side. This partially burned out bulb generated a very loud and annoying buzz sound. Its a constant buzzing noise. If you ever watched Better Call Saul, its the same sound you hear when Chuck enters any room with lights on and electricity flowing. The funny part of this story is that the exact same lightbulb was never replaced in all 10 years so far. And replacing that one lightbulb will instantly stop the buzzing sound! Those bulbs cost around $5 at Home Depot and the newer ones are LED which last almost forever and have no buzzing sound 🙂 The only nearby place i consider better is Chen's Yummy Chinese House, but thats technically in Dumont. Pros: Very yummy chinese food! Very friendly employees. The woman who took my order was kind, patient and friendly. Fast service. Took less than 10 mins for fresh food. Plenty of free parking nearby in the back and front. Perfect pricing $7 to $8 lunch meals Great selection of food. Cons: Way too expensive for the dinner menu! $40 for two simple meals is insane! No restroom Indoor dinning seems to be closed.
River House
As I always say, have to try it out for myself. Can't always trust reviews or people's words. I'm genuinely surprised with this place. 1) Expensive for the portion I got. 2) All one sauce. Brown sauce on everything. 3) Oily 4) I've never had brown sauce on my seafood pan fried noodles. Maybe it's just me, but that again goes back to the one sauce comment. Service was good. Obviously atmosphere is great, right across from the city.
We were looking for a spot after a day at SoJo Spa and I had a hankering for Beef Pan Fried Noodles. Found this place right across the street which was convenient since we were super hungry. The food was fresh and delicious AND the BEST beef pan fried noodle I've had in a long time! Staff was friendly however as it got busy it took a few tries to get a refill from our waitress. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!
Chef Chan Restaurant
Pick up and cash only! I knew the food was going be great because of these restrictions! Huge portions, delicious flavors and the best prices around the area. I'm an egg roll snob and these were excellent! Egg Fu Yung was so flavorful and lo mein was delicious. Probably the best Chinese I've had! I just found my new spot!
The food from here is just about the most affordable you can get from about any restaurant in the area. The different chicken and roast pork dishes they offer are my personal favorite, along with the Hot and Sour soup. Can't say the same about the Wonton Soup or the lo mein unfortunately, but there's plenty more options to choose from. Getting a free can of soda for every $20 you spend is a bonus I haven't seen other restaurants emulate, so that's nice. FYI: they don't take cards, only cash for transactions.
Lucky Hunan Garden
Wow!!!!!! such a great surprise their food is great and portions are giants. Every time I buy something, it is fresh and well prepared. I love it , for sure, one of my favorites.
The food here is mixed. The cold sesame noodles are delicious and the serving is very generous. On the other hand, the chicken dishes are awful. I’ve The chicken is poorly cooked. The soups are average, nothing special. I’ll probably not order from here again. They need a better chef. I learned that they no longer deliver to Edgewater. The woman answering the phone blamed the driver who doesn’t want to drive the short distance. Lucky Hunan needs a new driver and chef ASAP. I now refer to the restaurant as ‘UNLUCKY HUNAN’!
Green Leaf Chinese Restaurant
My family and I order from green leaf quite often. The food is excellent. I think that they have the best chicken with broccoli that I’ve had in a long time. The staff has always been courteous to me. I will review at a later time if things change.
Real bad service I order beef fried rice with chicken wings. I was sent plain rice with over cooked chicken wings. No onion, no sprouts just a lousy cooked plain rice with 5 peaces of black over cooked beef in it. They try to cut back on ingredients still charge you full price on your meal where other Chinese restaurants put all the ingredients and do not cut back. Lousy food
Bici
I often find I don't love Italian food because it's too rich without any contrast. Let me tell you, they did a great job in proving it can be done well. I had the scallops with a blood orange sauce and lemon rosemary risotto and green beans. Everything together was perfectly balanced. The risotto was surprisingly light and contrasted well with the sweetness and richness of the scallops and blood orange sauce and the green beans, something I normally don't enjoy, were an excellent earthy undertone. It's expensive for sure but as a foodie it was 100% worth the money.
We really enjoyed all of our food! Standouts were the meatball appetizer and the carrot cake. They are BYOB. My sister in law had to make a reservation a month ahead for the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend. It was very packed. There are a lot of tables though. White table cloths and attentive service. Upscale place. Lots of imagery of bicycles, I guess that makes sense since name of restaurant means “bikes.” Apps are all around $17 and mains around $40. Not everything is worth that price. There used to be a lobster dish that my family was raving about but not on the menu anymore, probably because of high lobster prices. I got the monk fish special for $39. Not worth it, 3 small “medallions” of fish in a very basic bland sauce with tomatoes and carrots. The description said there would be fingerling potatoes (as the second ingredient) so I imagined a heaping serving of potatoes on the side swimming in yummy sauce with fish but there were only 2 pieces of potato. The meatballs were amazing. Great flavor and super moist. 2 meatballs in the app. Carrot cake also very good, a decent slice and those candied nuts on the top added a nice crunch and sweetness. Desserts are $12. Bill came to over $500 for tax and tip for 8 people. I also liked the fried oysters which was on the specials for the day. A decent amount of oysters and they were perfectly fried. They also give complimentary focaccia bread that’s very good and fresh and the olive oil is good as well. It’s a nice environment, def nice for a special event. A little over priced. Mostly good food. They have won a lot of awards and owner seemed very nice and friendly. I also saw that they have been sponsors for the Ramsey farmers market for many years so that’s good to see.
Fairview Chinese Restaurant
The cuisine here reminds me of NYC Chinese food. Even though I don't live anywhere near Fairview, I make the drive there just for their egg rolls and takeout. The food is always delicious and hits the spot every time! 🥡
I love this place. The lady that does ordering is a sweetheart. The food is always fresh. I ordered chicken wings and pork fried rice today...absolutely delicious and fresh. Thank you so much.
Wang's Chinese Cuisine
Super impressed by how authentic the food here is. We just moved to NJ from California and have been looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant that’s not just about chow mein or general tso. Forgot to take pictures of all dishes. The spicy dishes have very complex tastes than just spicy, and the non spicy dishes are also super fresh and flavorful. The restaurant does get busy because it’s very popular amongst Chinese people, but the staff is always attentive and makes sure that all of our needs are met. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely come back.
Food is expensive 55.00 take out. Extremely dry. Had sweet n sour chicken..white meat tough n serve the sweet n sour right on top of chicken.( awful- just a sweet sauce..usually served with the sauce on the side).scallion pancake 7.00 tiny little thin wedges hardly any scallions, beef lo mein- dry. Pork fried rice ridiculosly dry, with peas not cooked slivers of pork not even hot- horrible. Nice people here and try to accomodate but they don't even have low sodium soy sauce. Won't return. See photos.
Jade House
I grew up with this Chinese food it’s really good but they min for credit cards are 12 now witch for one person is hard.
Very impressed with this delivery via Grubhub! Chicken with garlic sauce and general tso’s chicken are tasty. Not overly sweet or salty like many other Chinese food takeouts in the area. And food packaging was good. Will order from here again.
King Hong
All this including tax and delivery fee was $10.33! Now that’s a deal! I ordered from the lunch menu right before the special ended. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. This is the spot!
I've been looking for somewhere in the area to get some great Shrimp Egg Foo Yung. I was so disappointed that it was charred
New Golden City
Was not impressed with the food. Overall, it tasted soggy and lacked freshness. While the portion size was generous for the price, the quality just didn’t meet expectations.
Really good hot and sour soup. The lady is cooking this soup from the scratch. All proper ingredients like wood ear mushrooms. We always ask for hot oil to kick it up a little.
