LOMITO Peruvian Food
So glad that there's top notch Peruvian food in town! I ordered online when I was in Darien and was in Westport within minutes - my Lomo Saltado with top sirloin and sweet potato fries (and a cup of Tres Leches for dessert) were all ready for pickup! Love their newly designed space and storefront big screen menus above. When I got home, saw that they use sustainable packaging and kept the food warm enough to eat without reheating. The beef was tender and so well seasoned along with the red onions and tomatoes on top of french fries and a generous portion of rice. Honestly had to save half for dinner and I was still full after both meals. Tres leches was creamy delicious, not too sweet and I also split that for 2 meals. I really didn't need the side of sweet potato fries, but I downed that too! The spicy rocoto red sauce was good, not killer hot and of course the Peruvian green sauce was excellent. I bought an extra 3 ounces to keep in the fridge, ha! Oh, for those of you coming in from out of town, park on Franklin St, don't park on Saugatuck Ave because you can't.
I really hate to give this place a 2 star review, but I was not impressed by what we ate here for the cost. We ordered 2 lomo dishes. Was super pumped to have found this place because it was near to us. I will say it was very easy to order online and it was ready when we pulled up. Now for the food, the portion size was okay, but not great for $18 a plate. They also offer different cuts of meat that would cost more. We opted for the top sirloin. It was nicely cooked and tender, but had no flavor to it. I think the reasoning for this could be because of their packaging. I have added photos of what I'm talking about. They use a very thin paper-like container that absorbs all the juices that the lomo naturally has. The container also starts to fall apart as you are eating. This is a big issue because this is a take out place. The plantains are five out of five. That was the best part of the dish. The rice was on the dryer side which didn't help the plate. The onions are a great touch, but there are too many of them. I'm not an expert in this dish just giving my opinion. Tomatoes are also cut on the bigger side. Overall wouldn't pick this as our go to spot. The major turn off for us was their sauces. For some reason they tasted like straight pickles which is not a thing that they were used to when it comes to Aji. Had that not been the case it might have given it a better flavor. Again I hate to give it a 2 star because I want this place to be a 5 star, but it's just not. I'm sure their other plates might taste better, but if you can't get the sauce and the lomo right it does not give me much hope for the rest of the dishes.
Panda Express
In general I like panda expresses. This location however has left me terribly disappointed. All of the food either looked old or disappointing. Many items were vacant. One of the members of our group has never been to Panda Express and asked to try a piece of chicken we're promptly told that was not possible they could give us a few pieces in the order for next time how disappointing. That member of our group did not eat at Panera but went to a different restaurant because the food did not look appetizing. There were no forks where you would normally find forks. Also two of the soft drink dispensers had what seemed to be fairly permanent labels. To say the least a disappointing experience One in which will probably cause me to think twice about returning.
The people here were friendly and professional. The meat is nasty. I only ate at a panda express once as a kid and didn't really remember anything about it so I decided to go. It is quite cheap so there is the saying, you get what you pay for .. but in most busy cities you can find much better chinese food. At first I thought they gave me beef...the meat was all dark grissly meat. I had to spit it out I felt guilty giving a piece to my dog and trashed the rest! Now I think I know why my child self didn't think much of it, that was why it is not an eatery on my radar..especially now. Does the chicken come from china? Is it even chicken? So cheap they can not even serve white chicken meat as a featured entre. I even had to light a candle to get rid of the gross smell in my house. Edit: 25 minutes later I actually spewed it up.... never again...
Loy Loy Dim Sum
Generic food court quality food. Not quite authentic Chinese, but nice attempt. I had the Singapore noodles, which needed a little more curry powder flavor. Potstickers were rubbery.
I’ve had Bao all over the world, but these Bao buns were incredibly disappointing. The BBQ Bao steam buns were mostly bun with very little filling—about 95% bun and only 5% filling. The sticky rice was stale and slimy, unlike anything I’ve had before. The shrimp balls were the only redeeming part of my meal—they were actually good. However, the portion of sauce provided was ridiculous. I spent over $50 on my order and received just four BOTTLECAPS of sauce, which was honestly laughable. As for customer service, I didn’t stay long enough to fully assess it, but I did notice the staff member at the front ignored a paying customer with which they were in midst of an order with, to speak to me about my order. Take that for what it’s worth. Long story short, there’s much better options at Post HTX for the price point such as Chop’n Blok across the hall.
China Town
Amazing!!! Went thru grub hub and i tell you everything was piping hot when got. I got the beef with cashews and beef was nice cuts. Also got the beef lo mein. All great choices. Full menu of very unique dishes. Cheese wontons were a little tough but still hot and fresh.
First it was a rainy day. They were busy. Young lady let's us know it was an 30 min wait. I was not rushed to order. She was very pleasant and patient. I ordered shrimp Egg Foo Young and beef Egg Foo young. The beef was so tender and the shrimp are nice big ones. And the brown gravy was delicious. If I could give 10 stats I would. Even with the wait time.
Fusion Kitchen Quincy
fresh sushi. Very good looking dinning area . Clean fast service . The whiskey mai tai good tasting . Lychee martini was strong taste of rose water. the tempura shrimp was very delicious..
Omg. Pad Thai is the easiest dish. Horrible! I asked the bartenfer if he would eat it. No answer. Then I was not so nice and told him he could toss it or take it home to his family. My bad.
Jasmine Cuisine
the food is always so good and they are always smiling. great portions for the price. the mermaid shrimp and pineapple rice are 👌🏼👌🏼
My absolute favorite takeout in Quincy! They are always so pleasant. We ordered takeout tonight and the delivery driver came back because they missed a sushi roll, tbh I didn't even notice but it was so nice! 10/10 recommend Jasmine Cusine!
