They wait until after you place an order and take your money to say they're out of the item. I said we'll wait for fresh made. My food was put in a container and sat to the side for 15 minutes instead of giving me fresh food once the other order was ready.

Gets worse every time I go. Portions are all over the place. One time it's plenty, another time it's very small portion for same dish. The tea is fantastic though. NO SALT??? Always makes me cringe when they scrape the clabbered stuff off the sides of the warming trays to give you the last bit of festered food instead of making some fresh. If you can catch them when all the dishes are fresh, it's great, but odds are you won't.

We got fried dumplings, chicken lo mein, chicken in garlic sauce, dumpling soup, egg rolls and chongqing chicken. Both chicken dishes were ordered with fried rice. Portions were reasonable. Everything was fine, although nothing was exceptional. The Chongqing chicken boneless version was very different than the version pictured on the website, which was disappointing. We wouldn’t have even bothered ordering it if we knew it wasn’t prepared the same and wasn’t coated and crispy like the bone in version would be.

J2C has always been good; we go there regularly and I always have a good experience. Today, we went, dined in and they had a new menu, or else I just noticed it. It's lunch specials or their version of giving you a good deal for some regular dishes. Anyway, I'd tried their General Tso a while back, as we've been going there since they opened, and I didn't remember it as being my fave. But somehow it came up today and the server let me in on a secret - they've changed it, and it's very different - larger hunks of real chicken, less breading/flour - so I tried it. So glad I did, it was really delicious. It came with egg roll and fried rice, both were also good. My son got his go-to - beef fried rice - he loves it and it fills him up. Anyway, the lunch special is a great deal, very filling and just 10 bucks. Oh, and they don't have diet Coke on tap (fountain) ;). but, they do have it in cans and give you ice. So, even tho it's not a Coke place, they please the customer. Speaking of customer service; it is always superior. The place is a very modern vibe, yet still cozy somehow. And the staff makes you feel welcome. Great atmosphere all around. I will now be back even more frequently. Give their new lunch menu a try! I'm glad I did.

This is 20 dollars. Very small amount of food for price. Person at the counter was rude. Asked about the portion and was yelled at by the worker. From looking at other reviews, I can see why now because it seems like she might have anger issues. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for decades so it takes A LOT for me to complain. Will never go here again 👎

I absolutely love this place. The quality of the food is one of the best in town. The Amazing Chicken and Cashew Chicken are my two favorites. And $17 for food I can get two meals out of is just a bonus. The lady at the counter is always so friendly. I will be back many more times.

The meal was absolutely delicious! The portions were incredibly generous, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, with every ingredient cooked to perfection. A delightful surprise was the complimentary treat from the chef, which added a thoughtful and special touch. The service was impressively fast, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

The portions are huge, and the dishes are delicious. The prices are inexpensive. It’s really an excellent place to eat. In the photo, you can see half of my dish after I had already eaten. We finished the soups, but we couldn’t even finish the noodles and rice. And I love to eat! Still, there was too much food.

Disappointed in the food taste, texture, and cost. Delivery was timely. Rice was prepared perfect. Used Door Dash. Too thick of dumpling wraps and suggest reducing size for even steaming and cooks do tasting of speciality dishes and sauces. Menu should note if seasonal or fresh seafood used.

It's really great Chinese food! Names you know, but way better than the others. And for our family of 4, it was cheaper than then buffet down the street. I'm spoiled now. Eric, our server, was great! Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. A+ in my book!

Went to drive thru shortly after 10 this morning, nobody answered the drive thru menu or window, so I left. Definitely not coming back. The online app said they open at 10, dead wrong.

Some folks want just plain unsweet tea- without mango or passion fruit. That’s me- I am some people. This place does not have plain unsweet tea. The food was cold and workers didn’t care. In short- it was food for an empty stomach and nothing more. Not worth the $$ I paid but it served a purpose. A basic purpose. Same as White Castle, Taco Bell etc. super disappointed

I’m not from Taiwan or the region, so I’ll leave the remarks about authenticity to others. I did stumble on a Taiwanese restaurant during a trip to China, and had an eggplant dish that I’m still thinking about five years later. So I thought I’d give this place a try. I was just about the only non-Asian diner—on a Saturday, the place was full of families. They were kind to find a spot for a solo diner.I ordered the Taipei beef noodle soup, which is spicy but not in a sharp jalapeño way, more of a dark warm heat. I also had the eggplant in garlic sauce, which resembled that dish I had years ago, though it was sweet (actually as if sugar was added) and what I had before was a bit dryer, and had just a bit more of a roasted flavor. This was a lot of food, but it all was so good that I almost didn’t have any leftovers. I’ll definitely be back.

It is very Authentic Chinese food , is tasty so yummy and beautiful,I will coming back next time , thank you so much!

A really lovely place with decently affordable lunch specials. Fast and excellent service. Lunch special came with choice of crab rangoons or spring rolls as well as fried or steamed rice and hot and sour soup.

If there were half stars, I’d probably give a 3.5, but I’m rounding up to 4 because I would go back for sure. I started with a mai tai which was just ok. They don’t have a lot of tiki cocktails on the menu but maybe they can make the basics. I’ll try something else next time. For an appetizer we got crab Rangoon. It was minimally stuffed and not very good. It should be avoided. Dinner was much better. The half peking duck was good. The meat was excellent and the veggies were fresh, though the pancakes were more like a tortilla than a traditional peking pancake. The spicy sautéed cabbage was amazing. I highly recommend the cabbage, particularly with the duck. The service was efficient even though the dining room was pretty crowded. The atmosphere is nice, above average for a traditional Chinese restaurant. Bottom line: I’m looking for a Chinese restaurant near by to be my go to. I’m not sure this is it, but I would go back again.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ordered from! The steamed white rice was perfectly cooked—chewy and fluffy. The General Tso’s chicken was delicious, and since they didn’t have Orange Chicken, they went the extra mile to make us a special side. The scallion pancake had a wonderfully crisp texture, reminiscent of a Haitian pâté Kode without the filling. The vegetable lo mein was fantastic—even as someone who doesn’t like mushrooms, I found myself enjoying them. The egg rolls, however, were a bit dry and the filling wasn’t my favorite. One downside is that they don’t accept American Express, only Visa and MasterCard, so keep that in mind. Overall, a solid spot, and I’d definitely eat there again! Atmosphere is dry, old style could use a refresher.

I used to go here 5 days a week 20 years ago when I worked nearby. Today I happened to be in the area so I stopped in to get my old usual for lunch spicy green beans and an egg roll. Used to pay about $6 for the lunch but now was charged $20.54. Wow! Inflation! When I walked up to the counter I said I used to come here 20 years ago and I didn't need to look at the menu. I'll have the spicy green beans and an egg roll. The order taker asked me something I think about sizes and I just for me, one. While I was waiting I looked at the menu taped to the front window. It showed the lunch as $12.75 or $12.95. When the order was ready I asked about the price difference I was told I had to say the work "combo" or something like that. I mean it was 12:33 PM. Lunchtime. I mean, I am older but I don't eat dinner that early. So she tells me next time I have to say the magic word. I told her there would not be a next time. At the very least she should have asked me if I wanted the "combo" or whatever it is. I feel very ripped off having given her $8 more than what I should have paid for lunch. I will never go back. Remember to use the magic word if you go during lunchtime or you'll be charged an extra $8 for your lunch.

Anything but happy.. Came in with my husband on 12/8 after church just after 8pm (hours are until 10pm) The first bowl I ordered had refrigerated cold brown rice that hurt my teeth to chew because it was so hard. So I asked them to remake it with no rice and I got a completely different entree, with plastic in it!!! There was a huge piece of plastic wrap over the rice. The tomatoes were moldy.. The sushi chef kept saying the F word and pointing to the clock, we’ve been in twice before and he is always unhappy and cussing. However this time our sushi had a soured/rotten fish smell and had black hairs in it. Absolutely disgusting. A waste of $60. Get your food somewhere else and avoid this place at all cost!

Many times my family has gotten food here and we keep hoping it will improve (along with the attitude at times). It has not. We ordered food again last night and it was horrible. It’s all soggy flavorless and old. It made me nauseous so I didn’t even keep eating it. I put it outside for the raccoons and they tasted it and left. They would not eat it. I put some other snacks out, they came back and ate them. It sat on the porch all night and was not eaten. Never again!

Food isn’t bad. The pork fried rice only comes in a large size and can’t get included in the combination. It appears extra wet and is really dark with a bit too much soy sauce. The portions are decent size and the chicken and carrots weee decent.

Seriously one of the best Chinese places I’ve ever been to!! And everyone is so nice even when it’s super busy. Our go to Saturday night take out place ❤️

For starters, they didn't include even 1 fortune cookie. I ordered a chicken on a stick appetizer which was delicious. And the honey chicken which was very good. My mom ordered the beef and broccoli and she said it was perfect! Perfect ratio of beef to broccoli and great amount of sauce. I'm just a little stumped on why no fortune cookies were included.

I have lived in Lexington for many years and just got around to trying Tasty China. I had forgotten what a really good egg roll tasted like! I had shrimp egg rolls and hot and sour soup. I will definitely be going back!
