Ho's Chinese Restaurant
All the best food spots in STL are in questionable locations! đ€Łđ€Ł I grew up eating Ho's, so I'm definitely biased, but it's definitely a great spot for Asian food! The staff is sassy, but for good reason. They have to deal with the characters in my old neighborhood. Great food here if you are in the area!
Got the veggie fried rice and it was wonderful! I have been seeing the owner for years and never tried her food. Glad I was able! Will return!
Yet Bun Chop Suey
I went because mr chimetime went. That's a stupid reason. The rice was good. The egg food young patty was BREADED and undercooked. I've never had a breaded egg foo young patty.
On 314 day I make the decision to purchase food from Yet Bun Chop Suey. After spending $77.00. and some change I advised the man behind the counter that I would do an inventory of my order and return if anything was missing. Realizing there was one item missing I returned to the counter only to be disrespected and told to bring the whole bag back for him to determine if anything was missing. The lady standing on the side of me was having the same issue. Why would I spent $78.00 with your business to steal an order of crab ragoon? This restaurant is guilty of disrespect to their only patrons â the black communityâ and we should not continue to patronize this or any other organization that continues to reap financial award from our communities and not invest a penny in our communities
Dragon's Place
If youâre driving down Grand Boulevard, this is a great place to stop and have a bite or if youâre on the rush, you can order it to go. My fiancĂ© and I went here after failed attempts of finding somewhere to sit down and eat luckily this place had multiple seating. When we sat down, we were greeted in everything by this nice young handsome man. We ended in when we left. We made sure to leave him a generous tip. He made sure that we had all condiments like soy sauce, sweet-and-sour sauce, and hot pepper seasoning for our food. And the portions were so big. My fiancĂ© had to get a to go plate The food was delicious. It was nice and fresh. The flavors were extravagant. I would recommend it for sure. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be back! We ordered, honey chicken, orange chicken, fried rice, and Rangoonâs.
Unfortunately they have switched owners and the quality of food is not the same! This was definitely my go to place for Chinese food on the south side. I hadnât had it in over a year so I was REALLY craving it. Ordered my usual, 4 piece wings and whole order of plan fried rice. The rice was soggy and had no flavor whatsoever. And the wings had too much breading and were SMALL! The wings used to be a lot bigger. The staff was friendly so I hate to leave 3 starts but as someone that has been ordering from here for over 10 years I was a little disappointed.
Lam's Garden
I am very disappointed in the quality of the food. It had NO flavor what so ever (not an exaggeration) I got lo mein with my order and it smelled and tasted like plastic. The only thing I really enjoyed is the crab rangoons. If you like cheap but nasty food then itâs for you. Also the price on the receipt did not match up with the price it showed online.
So sad this used to be delicious place for Chinese food. Ordered to go. Got orange chicken which was breaded chicken swimming a sweet liquid. Not even a sauce nothing could stick to the chicken. The fried rice barely fried. Only thing good was the crab Rangoon. Disappointed is an understatement.
Chinese Express
âž» Iâve lived in Clayton all my adult life and had never ordered from this place before. On Easter Sunday, there werenât many dining options available, so I decided to give it a try and ordered a few items. The Mongolian beef was more like a soup, with an odd greenish tint meat and the meat tasted like it had been microwaved. The noodles were completely flavorless and also seemed to have been microwaved. By the time I drove home and opened the foodâabout half an hour laterâit was still burning hot, which confirmed my suspicion.microwave I was surprised to see the cooks, who appeared to be Mexican, using the microwave for nearly every dish in restaurant . Itâs disappointing to see even some Asian restaurants relying so heavily on the microwave. I was genuinely shocked.
Large portion of combination plate. Ordered to-go general twoâs chicken. Large crispy chicken pieces, broccoli, good sauce but not spicy (ordered regular, it said spicy). White rice is basic good white rice, not jasmine. Crab ragoon only sweet cream cheese filling, placed in same container as food, causes them to get softer. Still tastes very good. Great price for portion of food! Placed order online. Easy.
Yen Ching
Came in not knowing what to order, asked for a recommendation that was spicy but also savory. They recommended the teriyaki chicken. It was delicious, also a very big portion (picture is about 1/3 of the total food) Extremely good customer service throughout my dining experience. Really fast service as well
This is my favorite chinse restaurant. The food is great, and the servers are very attentive. It seems a bit pricey, but the flavors are worth it. I always have the Seafood Sizzling Bowl. The rice is prepared in toasted, crisp waffer like chunks that compliments the shrimp, pee pods, and slivers of beef. It is in a busy location across from the Galleria Shopping Mall. There is off street parking available just south of the restaurant. If you exit behind the buildings, there is a stoplight for an easy left turn on Brentwood Avenue.
Oriental Buffet
I walked into the buffet and saw it was a decent size. I like the variety that they had, including frog legs, which I had never seen before.
Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - quite typical of a Chinese buffet with some "sushi" items, different options for protein, soups, a lot more fried food than usual, and some dessert. The food did tend to lean on the saltier end compared to what we're used to so we went through quite a few cups of water. The shrimp nigiri was okay, but the rice for the sushi were hard and compacted. Service: 5/5 - quick service and extremely quick to clear our tables of used plates Ambiance: 5/5 - feels clean overall and we saw the waitresses constantly cleaning as tables emptied Value for price: 5/5 - decent food at a really good price.
Siam Express
Usually not one to write reviews for pretty much anything, but I cannot recommend this place enough to anybody. I donât think Iâve ever been to a restaurant where the people are so nice and respectful to me. Not only all of that, but the food is always consistently good. Me and my wife order food from here roughly once a week. On top of all that, it is very fairly priced. Absolute top notch place to get, good Chinese food from!
This place is by far my favorite place to eat in the whole world. I would eat it for one of my last meals. I've traveled from Missouri to Oregon all the way to Florida & Pennsylvania and there's just no other place that compares. They are so nice and wonderful people. I hope to eat here for years to come. And it blows my mind how affordable it is too... I will always get their crab ragoons. Seriously, it's one of the best restaurants.
Panda Restaurant
They have the best crab Rangoon ever they are huge and use real crab meat they are large and the best.. the portion size is big and enough for left overs the best Chinese in Missouri..đ
Crab ragoon was extremely sweet The general taso was horrible and super chewey The hot and sour soup is unique. Celery should have been cooked a bit longer though.
New China
I just moved nearby and was looking for a new Chinese food spot. St. Louis is hit and miss on Chinese food, with mostly a lot of misses. I was super happy that the food was terrific at New China! I had the Kung Pao chicken lunch special. Came with fried rice and an egg roll. It was the best I've had in the area. The crab rangoon and fried dumplings were on point. 10/10, I'll be back!
Ordered a large variety of food. None of the shrimp seemed to be finished cooking, the same is true of the honey chicken. The breading on both was still doughy. The lo mein was decent enough to eat. There are only 3 tables inside, so this location is not really set up for customers to dine in.
Hunan Express
I just placed a $330 order yesterday (New Year's Eve) for my extended family. The reviews I read were accurate. The inside has a faint cigarette smell. None of the employees speak English. But it was very clean. I placed my order over the phone and when we got back to the house none of the 20+ orders were missing or wrong. The General Tso shrimp had big shrimps in the breading. We'll be using this place again for our big order next year!
Under new ownership! Clean, food was delicious. Friendly people. Hot and Sour soup was very good.
Bo Fung Chinese Kitchen
This is not Bo Fung that was awesome on Morganford. This is completely a different experience. Do not expect the same level of quality. Generic Chinese food nothing special about it.
Excellent customer service. When I made a mistake and went to pick up from the old location, I called and asked for delivery instead. They were at my door in no time, with a smile. The food was still hot, too!
