New Hua Xia Seafood Restaurant
Solid spot for a traditional Chinese dinner! The space is clean and bright. The food isn't overly oily either. I came for a wedding banquet here, where we were seated upstairs. Our 14-course menu included tons of Chinese dinner classics, like Salt and Pepper Pork chops, a Pea Shoot veggie dish, and Lobster! Everything tasted great and the service was prompt. My FAVES were the chicken soup, which was a delicious, clear broth, and the Steamed Fish, which was very fresh!! The Steamed Crab was very good too, but understandable that it's not always in everyone's price range lol We closed out with the classic Red Bean Tapioca dessert - there are water chestnuts in it btw, but it's tasteless and can easily be picked out if it's not to your liking. Overall, would return for another meal.
Had a great dinner here. Food was great and staff were super helpful. My favorite was the steamed scallops with garlic and glass noodle.
China Star Buffet
What a fun little surprise! My guilty pleasure? A Chinese buffet. The outside looked small and shabby, but inside felt much bigger. The food was really good. It was busy so the food was turning over pretty quickly - we came at 1:30 on a Sunday. We got a seat right away even though it was busy. The staff was friendly and I would definitely go back.
Had an amazing dining experience at China Star Buffet! The variety of dishes is impressive, and the food is always fresh and delicious. Highly recommend! Great value for the price, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. š
Express Phoenix
I recently ordered Kung Pao Chicken from this restaurant and was very disappointed. The dish included peanuts, but they were served with the seed coat still on. When I brought it up to the staff, I was told, "Thatās how it comes." No, it comes that way because theyāre buying the cheapest optionābut that doesnāt mean it should be served that way. The price of the food has gone up in the past couple of years, so thereās no excuse for cutting corners like this. If itās cheaper to buy peanuts with the seed coat, take the time to remove it before adding them to the dish. Otherwise, just spend the extra couple of bucks on properly cleaned peanuts. Iāve ordered this dish from them before and from other restaurants in the pastānone of them ever served it with the seed coat. I wonāt be ordering Kung Pao Chicken from here again.
Door dash these guys all the time. Theyāre quick, the food is always good, and they follow instructions. Price is standard but they give big portions and itās always fresh. Egg rolls are big and delicious. Couldnāt ask for better service.
Golden Bowl
Golden Bowl harkens to the Chinatown before gentrification. Itās a very humble, no-frills spot where food is ladled by old ladies, hardly any English is spoken, and there are no tourists. $8.50 (tax included) gets you 4 dishes and rice. There are many choices, including a lot of vegetarian options. Canned soda is $1. Cash only.
A real hidden gem tucked away on a side street. Months ago I walked by Golden Bowl and saw the hot foods in front of the window and told myself I'd come back to try. Yesterday I was in the area and decided it was time. They don't have a menu, just a selection of the owners home cooking from that day. For $7 you get a plate of rice and selection of 4 dishes. All are fantastic. If you're an adventurous eater and support mom and pop shops, this is the spot. And if you've ever been to a Chinese restaurant and saw a dish that you'd be curious to take a bite of, but can't justify paying $17 for a full service - this is the spot to try as much as your heart desires for a couple dollars.
Lian Jiang
Always wanted to come and try it out and had the opportunity since I was shopping across the street for some dessert. They have a good selection of buffet style take out dishes. All of the trays were full which provides alot of eye candy for you. You get 4 choices and rice for seven bucks. Go for all carnivorous items since that how you save. The veggies you can eat somewhere else. Got fried fish, a fried chicken leg, braised pork ribs and fried chicken strips. It's a good amount of food if you want to fill up for cheap.
4 food items + soup + rice for $7! thereās a wide selection of food to choose from and the taste was sooooo good. my only complaint is that the dining environment can seem very shabby
Sweet Pepper Caribbean American Restaurant
Incredible restaurant and staff! I was greeted right as I entered, and was offered five samples to try at the menu to see what Iād like! They even let me get two things for the price of one serving, and had 10% military discount. The staff was so kind and helpful, and if I lived in the area, I would be back here all the time! Only feedback I have that is constructive, is that they need to pick up their phones. I called three times and none of my calls got answered. Other than that, incredible experience! I wish there was a location near where I lived in Alabama! Note: They have lunch specials M-F
Found this amazing hidden gem! The customer service was great. I was promptly greeted with the most welcoming smile and hello from Trish. She explained everything about the food, the menu, and even gave samples to try! (Without me even asking for any). The food was so flavorful and delicious! If it's your first time trying Caribbean food or Jamaican food this is the place for you!
La CosteÅita deli restaurant llC
Very relaxed place. Spanish music. TV on the wall. Food was delicious, great filling portions for great price. Customer service was great. Bathroom very clean. Definitely coming back whenever I'm back in the area. Didn't take a picture before I started eating food was so good but there's what my food looked like. Yum yum
Such amazing Arroz Moro. Everyone wanted to eat mine. Sweet waitress who helped us even though my Spanish was bad. really delicious food.
China King Chinese Take Out
My favorite Chinese spot as a kid. Right ul the street from where I grew up. I had to make a trip back to update my core memory and add one to my kids! Cold sesame noodles are my go too and will continue to be the best from only this place.
This place used to be my #1 spot growing up, food always so flavorful and hit the spot every time. I havenāt gone in years but decided to give them a try and I was a little disappointed this time around. Chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice was alright but not amazing like before. Their egg rolls are still top tier tho
Dim Sum Palace
I like Dim Sum Place and I would definitely go again. Reason for the 4 stars was at 2pm and still a line when we were leaving at 3pm they ran out of some food like the egg tart and sweet milk buns. But the food that did come was good. Also the food came at a very slow speed maybe it was made to order. We only waited maybe 15 minutes without a reservation and didnāt have to share tables. The price was okay, not overly expensive.
We checked google and it had 4.3 stars so We went for lunch. The place was packed and big so we thought great we will wait. The lady at the front said it would be 15 minutes but it was more like 30-40 minutes wait. They sat us down and we didnāt have anyone take our order for another 10 minutes at least. We circled what we wanted on the menu and waited. They bring things out as they are made. My friend orders spare ribs which no one liked. We ordered lists of dim sum and buns and a beef noodles dish and for dessert we got the milk bunnyās. Everything needed flavor added to it. It was all bland. They brought tea to the table right away but we had to ask for water. I wonāt be going back. Iāve had much better dim sum and service at other restaurants.
M Star Cafe
M Star Cafe is my familyās go-to Hong Kong cafe in Chinatown. We also love S Wan Cafe (ę“ē“«č) but they have limited seatings and close on Sundays. I wonāt rave about their food but they are up to par. Their HK style milk tea is a standout compared to most HK cafes in NYC, but it is not the best. Iykyk the service is 100% authentic. The whole atmosphere, from the food, service, customers to interior, it transports me back to Hong Kong. They messed up about half of our order this time, but I wasn't mad about it lol. While Iāve heard some say the quality has gone downhill in recent years, the food still tastes authentic to me, and very affordable. The portion size is so big that I almost always end up packing leftovers. ļ¼Faux Shark Fin Soup ē¢ä»ēæ $4 I was shocked when my boyfriend told me heād never had this before lol. Itās such a classic street snack in Hong Kong, made with low-cost ingredients like bamboo, fungus, dried mushrooms, and vermicelli to imitate the taste of shark fin soup. It is usually enjoyed with red vinegar and white pepper. The flavor here was spot-on and instantly transported me back in HKāso nostalgic. ļ¼Corned Beef and Egg Sandwich čēę²» $4 As usual, I ordered the corned beef and egg sandwich. It was massiveāI could only finish half. The scrambled eggs were soft, fluffy, and packed with corned beef. ļ¼Satay Beef Over Rice ę²ē¹ēč飯 $10.25 My boyfriend got the satay beef over rice, which also came in a huge portion. We were offended to see āäøč²č±ā (peas) in the dish lol. The beef itself was tasty, though the flavor wasnāt the classic HK-style satay with that peanuty sauce. This version had a much spicier kick to it. ļ¼Rice Roll with Mixed Peanut Sauces ę··é¬č øē² $4* Not sure why it isnāt on the menu but this is apparently what theyāre known for. Everyone ordered their mixed peanut sauce rice rolls when we went, and I also get it every time. The steamed rice rolls texture is perfect. Unpopular opinion: I wished they put less sauces. ļ¼Beef Curry Rice åå©ēč ©é£Æ $8.5* In Hong Kong, we describe HK style curry rice as āneon curryā lol. This one 100% matched my expectation. They didnāt skimp on the beef so it was super filling. The curry sauce was spicy and flavorful. I shared with my boyfriend and we couldnāt finish, given he has a big appetite. ļ¼Russian Macaroni ē¾ å®ę¹Æéē² $7.5 We were skeptical at first but changed our mind after we tried. It reminded me of the taste of classic HK breakfast macaroni. Very comforting. ļ¼Beef Flat Noodle Stir Fry ä¹¾ēēę²³ $12.5 You really canāt go wrong with beef flat noodle stir fry at HK cafes. Iāve never tried a bad one in NYC so far. ļ¼HK Style Milk Tea ęøÆå¼å„¶č¶ $2.65** Well balance of ceylon tea and evaporated milk. Not too bitter (I found the milk tea at Kong Sihk Tong very bitter and overpriced). I usually order it without sugar.
Traditional HK style breakfast food. Brings back memories. Milk tea was good. I got the pork congee and steam rice noodles. My sister got the eggs and toast and coffee. Service was OK, not the same as other restaurants but typically HK style service which is not much but they were there for us. Don't particularly like the paper cups, bowls and plates though. However, whenever the chance comes up, I would go. Love HK style food.

Kim Long Restaurant
Havenāt had anything here that wasnāt good . The ladies are really nice . I frequent this restaurant ALOT. My mom loves their pho, my kid loves the bim bau wei ( Iām sure that isnāt how you spell it ) nonetheless, I highly recommend Kim Longs. Wait time is convenient
This Vietnamese-owned restaurant has THE BEST shrimp-fried rice (at least on the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast)!!! I've been all over the United States - from the East Coast to the West, but I've never had shrimp-fried rice from any state other than my hometown here in Mississippi). What makes this dish so great to me is their proprietary (homemade) sauce. It's soy sauce mixed with some other spices/seasonings (not hot at all). I highly recommend you get on the side, and mix it in with the shrimp-fried rice. My...God...It''s phenomenal!!! š„°š„°š„° (I did some HVAC work for the owner of this restaurant, and he offered me some food for lunch while I was working. What he brought me was the shrimp-fried rice with some of that sauce, along with two egg rolls and duck sauce. What he didn't know was he gained a new customer, along with all of my followers!) š
