China City
If you’re not wanting to cook for the night and want a quick bite to eat, this is the place! Not super fancy by any means, but quick, affordable and fresh! I ordered the Mongolian beef and it came with rice and egg roll. I ordered the beef medium hot and it was just that! If you’re a true Minnesotan, you might want to order “little” spice. The fried rice was plain but it complimented the Mongolian beef well. I loved the egg roll! It had this peppery-ness to it, but not spicy. Overall we are pleased and will recommend this place. Bugles bugles.
Never tried this, figured I’d stop in on my way home for lunch. Service was great. Took them only 10 minutes to cook up my food which was also great. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special that comes with fried rice and then an order of vegetable lo mein on the side. The lo mein is very good, big container. The orange chicken i like as well, the fried rice is a bit different from the usual rice i’m used to but it still tastes good. Overall good food and good experience.
Great China Buffet
Understanding, wonderful people combined with delicious food makes for a good combination! Great place for family gatherings!
Been craving Asian food the last week of my pregnancy and have eaten her 3 times in that same week! Hits the spot each time! The quality is perfect for the price! Usually I do take out but I spoiled myself today and ate in, they are so friendly calm and welcoming!
China King
So delicious! I was surprised by the newer atmosphere and menu! Boba, ramen, donuts! We had the Tonkatsu black garlic ramen, pineapple slush with lychee, and the small spicy chicken in garlic.
I've frequented take out here for many years and kept coming back because of the value...good and fresh at reasonable price. They have had the buffet for several years but the restaurant WAS run down. Recent renovations however have made me reconsider and today I'm happy to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet. Place was somewhat busy but plenty of seating. The buffet was kept fresh and stocked. The owners have always been gracious and welcoming. This is a hidden gem for a great value lunch.
China Star
Stopped to pick up carry out over lunch. I ordered online- it was easy and fast. Our order was accurate and food was hot. Egg rolls were smaller than regular egg rolls. The store does have some limited seating. Restrooms in back- one out of order. The lady who took my payment and prepared our order was NOT friendly. She was yelling at me, with frown on her face when I asked her to repeat what she was asking. I’m not hard of hearing, I just didn’t understand her question. She was asking how many sweet and sour sauce I wanted. Her yelling and speaking louder didn’t solve the language barrier between us. It only made me want to leave. I stopped to get three separate orders to deliver to three friends who I thought needed a day brightener. I wasn’t sure I even wanted the food after dealing with this negative women. Maybe she was just having a bad day. I would give 1 start for friendliness 🫤.
Been trying to find the best fried rice in Rochester and I think it’s here!!!
Happy China
I think they recently changed ownership. My wife and I have eaten take-out from here countless times over the last 10+ years. We have always loved their food and thought it was the best Chinese food in the Rochester area. But, now something has changed over the last few months or so. in the last 6 visits our favorite dishes taste weird, the meat quality has really decreased and now has a lot of fat and gristle. I'm even finding pieces of arteries in my pork. I'm hesitant to eat breaded chicken as every piece is a mystery. The home made hot mustard at the counter is also separated and now comes out thick yellow followed by something dark and runny. I really hope something changes as this is also a convenient location as I live in the Byron area. I just don't know how I will find out as I can't bring my self to eat here again.
I would NOT recommend this place. The staff were friendly but not impressed with the food. I ordered the mixed vegetables with brown sauce which according to the website was supposed to come with “Broccoli, carrot, snow peas, mushroom, bok choy, baby corn, water chestnut, bamboo shoots with brown sauce. Served with white rice.” The ENTIRE dish was broccoli, 2 pieces of carrot, 2 snow pea and celery (which was not supposed to come with). VERY disappointed that I paid $15 just for this dish to get all broccoli. By the time I got home, there was sauce that leaked all over the bottom of the bag which made a huge mess. Not impressed at all and would not go back.
China Wok
So nice to have quality, freshly prepared food in a small town! The owners are so friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate special requests: they make a special (delicious!) white garlic sauce for my husband who has a soy allergy and remember us every time. We like the triple delight, the hot and sour soup, and the egg rolls the best!
Ordered sesame chicken and we received this. It tasted like orange chicken. The owner wasn’t helpful. Wanted us to bring it back up to put sesame seeds on it. Won’t ever go back. We miss the old owners.
Hunan Garden
The sesame chicken was INCREDIBLE. It's nothing like the gooey dense stuff you get at other Asian restaurants. This stuff is crispy and fresh! And the eggrolls were nearly burrito size!! I love this place. Service was great and you can tell the waitress loves working there. She was very attentive and lovely. I haven't been here since I was little, but it's better than I remember.
We love Hunan Garden, and it's our go-to Chinese restaurant in Rochester. We love that they use more veggies in a lot of their dishes than many other places (for example, the sweet and sour chicken comes with bell peppers, pineapple, and carrot, and they have a few vegetarian options like broccoli with garlic sauce). The people there are always friendly, and the food is always consistently delicious and well-made. It's a really great place to get good, reliable take-out on those days when you're just too tired to cook.
Great Wall
Make sure to continue to support them during the construction on Broadway. Ordered online for pay and pickup in store. Order was ready when I arrived a little early. I have a 17 minute drive home, and had to do a few things before sitting down to eat. FOOD WAS STILL STEAMING!! 25 minutes from pickup, was affordable and tasted great. They did not include my sweet and sour sauce for my rangoons so that was unfortunate. Would eat here again!
We are always happy to deliver for Great Wall! Their food is always fresh and tasty, and their team is great to work with. They make the whole process seamless, and it's clear they care about quality and service! -Waiter Express Food Delivery Team
China One
We are so proud to deliver for China One! They consistently serve high-quality, delicious food that never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and professional, and the attention to detail in both food preparation and customer service is top-notch. -Waiter Express Food Delivery Team
Crab rangoon and egg drop soup are the Best in town. I had shrimp with cashew nuts, it was extremely good. I prefer more cashews, just my individual taste. We had the lunch menu, the portion size is compared to a full menu item at some other establishments. I had enough for two meals. My companion who has a larger appetite had the pork egg foo young. Which was also excellent and very pleased with the portion. We originally were going to eat in. The staff was very accommodating when we had to change it to a take out order. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was exceptional. We have found the diamond in the rough. We will definitely be back again!
New China Royal
I ordered chicken lo mein To Go today during the lunch hour. I sat in a chair next to the cash register waiting ten minutes as the woman who worked the counter sat in the middle of the dinning room speaking Chinese to someone in a screen time call. It was a surreal feeling like I did not exist as a patron of the restaurant at all; it wasn't a restaurant type vibe. There was a seeming purposeFul disrespect to the scene, and I'm not easily offended. When I got home and opened the meal something felt off. The food looked like a mish mash of different meals. The noodles were all chopped up, not long. It didn't seem like it was put together fresh for me, at all. I am having visions of different plate leftovers being scooped into a bin and given to customers to save money type deal. As I began to pick through my meal I noticed large greasy pieces of beef and pieces of salad in my meal. And I ordered Chicken Lo Mein. 🤢 I will throw the meal away, and hope I don't get food poisoning. I will Never go here again because I'm so grossed out. This used to be the only Chinese place I would go to in the area. I serious, if I get food poisoning, this is a testament. 🤢 🙏🏻
A little hidden gem of New Prague. When discovered that it’s a great food option - quickly became a regular 🥰 I call in, place my order in pick up in 15-20 minutes. I highly recommend their cheese filled pastry and egg rolls 🔥 great alternative for this town, food is fresh and tasty
East Wind Buffet
My daughter and I were looking for a place to eat for lunch after visiting Cabela’s when meeting a friend. My daughter got excited about this place because they had sushi. Parking lot was slightly full, but surprisingly there was no line at the door. Took a short bit to find a seat. We did the buffet for lunch. Most of the food in the buffet was nice and hot, some things were not. I was kind of sad that they didn’t have any fried rice. They only had vegetable rice and vegetable lo mein. They had a nice variety of different things to choose from to eat and enjoy. We also enjoyed the dessert table. Overall, my daughter and I were very pleased with our lunch today.
Not impressed. The food quality and selection were not worth the $40 I paid with gratuity. Most dishes were watery, flavorless, and I didn't even bother with the "fried rice". It was bright yellow, most definitely NOT fried and likely came prepackaged and frozen. I'm guessing the majority of their selection comes this way. I had one plate and will not be back.
Tasty House
Stopped in lastnight for a quick bite to eat for the first time. Service was a little slow, but the food was delicious! Will definitely come back! Had the fried pot stickers, combination Lo mein, combination fried rice, and the combination Szechwan 10/10! Can’t wait to try more dishes the next time we are in town.
The atmosphere is very calming, music is nice and at the perfect volume, service was great and food was fresh. Ordered the shrimp and broccoli and the general tso's lunch special and it was delicious.
