Providence Coney island
Tiffany was our server today, and she genuinely cared about delivering excellent service with a friendly flair. I ordered the vegetarian skillet over waffle fries instead of hashbrowns, which the staff seemed to get a kick out of as no one had ordered that way before. The little one wanted one egg scrambled and one egg fried light. They didn't complain about this tweak either. We found the place very accommodating with lots of regulars. The food was quick and satisfying. I look forward to Tiffany assisting us again.
Highly recommended! I love the staff, the food and the comfort home style atmosphere. 10/10
Z!Eats (Formerly Zoup!)
The chicken pot pie soup never fails me! Omg it's super good! I also ordered the chicken tortilla soup, but guess what? They didn't put my tortillas in the bag, so I didn't even eat the soup. That's my favorite part of the soup, just like the crust sprinkles are my favorite part of the chicken pot pie soup. If the crust wasn't in the bag, I wouldn't have eaten the chicken pot pie either. Luckily, it was because it was delicious! The only reason I took 1 star away is because of the missing tortillas! 😕 sorry! Great place, though! :)
I ordered lobster bisque and the wreck, I was very disappointed the soup was disgusting, it was tasteless, colorless and very thick & lumpy I couldn’t eat it at all. The sandwich was good but made and wrapped very sloppy . I used to enjoy Zoup this is not that for sure , don’t intend to eat here again
China Crown
I called over the phone to order the orange chicken quart, side of rice, and two egg rolls. Quick 15 mins later my order was ready for pick up. After walking in, paying my order, and receiving a complimentary gift of free egg drop soup I had to tip a few dollars $$$ The ingredients they use excite my taste buds!!!! The flavor of the egg rolls is 10/10 amazing!!!! The flavor of the orange chicken is 10/10 amazing!!!! The egg drop soup is 10/10 amazing!!!! The service is 10/10 amazing!!!! Don't hesitate to order, this is a faithful seller!!! What are you waiting for???? Make the call!!!!!!!!
Great food! Everything is always so fresh and tastes great. They have good vegetarian options and even make veggie soup upon request. Family is a fan of their chicken and wonton soup. Excellent fried rice all around. Staff is very kind and helpful.
China Cafe
One of my favorite places to eat when I lived here. Used to go with friends from the office for lunch. Three Wonders and Walnut Shrimp are my go-to but the Sweet & Sour Chicken is great as well as numerous other dishes. Up visiting and found they've changed their hours a bit. It's closed Monday but now doesn't open until 3pm. Which unfortunately isn't great when you are in the area only at lunch time. However, finally made it for dinner. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. They were busy but got seated right away. Food was good as I remember it. Definitely worth the trip.
A very pleasant surprise considering a last minute stop for dinner and a night cap. The food was outstanding. Presentation, delectable taste and perfect portions for sharing. Nothing but top shelf drinks to enjoy in and last but not least, a must to stop in for an evening out and meet the owner Suzanne. Hopefully I got the spelling correct, but what a host. Best experience I’ve had out in a long time. I WILL definitely be back, thank you!
Best China
Make sure to ask for the traditional Shanghai menu, not the Americanized one. Also if you are accustomed to Cantonese style, this will not taste the same. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
Best China is still the best Chinese food you'll likely ever have in Michigan (or elsewhere, for that matter). Service is always phenomenal, and I deeply appreciate that the staff gives outstanding suggestions of new dishes for us to try. Tonight we had my favorite--green beans and potatoes. It's simple, yet so incredibly delicious. Salty with a hint of sweetness, and each potato is perfectly cooked and evenly coated in the deliciousness. I refer to this dish as Chinese crack because, for me, it's addictive. I crave this dish! We also ordered shredded pork with celery and dry tofu, which is served in a light broth-flavored sauce. I wasn't sure about this until I tasted it because I'm not a tofu fan, but this didn't taste like tofu. It's excellent with rice because it soaks up the scrumptious sauce. My husband wanted to order beef with cumin, which is his favorite here, but that will have to wait until next time, if we don't order something else we've never tried before. You just can't go wrong! If you're in a hurry, order carry out. Just make sure you check this place out!
Szechuan Restaurant
A very simple and quaint restaurant. Service was pretty fast and food portions are pretty good. We were 4 of us and ordered our own entrees. But all of us couldn’t finish our portions and took them home. Some of the entrees were either oily than we would have liked or would have preferred more flavour. Maybe we dint order the right things. But all in all a good restaurant and we wouldnt mind visiting again to try other options.
Wow! We hadn’t visited in years! In fact, we thought we were at the wrong restaurant because the outside had a complete makeover as did the inside- We were the first to arrive for dinner- They quickly got busy- very clean- modern- almost elegant- Service was very fast- Almost too fast to take our order; considering the menu is quite extensive- Our waiter was nice- - we ordered general Tao, almond chicken, egg drop soup, hot sour soup, spring rolls- Everything came out super fast- My husband really enjoyed the egg drop soup- They quickly got hot sour was ok- It was lukewarm in temp and lacked the peppery sour taste I’m use to- For $5 I wasn’t impressed- The spring rolls were ok- Small and almost $3 not worth the price- The entrees were on point- The best General Tao and by far the best almond chicken we’ve had in the metro Detroit area- BUT my GT was lukewarm— Nothing was hot like it had just been prepared and served- I appreciate that they box the food at your table and not carry it back to the kitchen area- I wish they had pay at your table vs taking your card…We definitely will be back- We will skip the extras and focus on the entrees- The total was $50 not including tip
Canton China Restaurant
Do not trust the menu that’s posted on Google. Their actual prices are literally twice the price. When I told the lady that the online picture said half the price, she just laughed at me and said that she doesn’t post the pictures. I said that I understand that, but she SHOULD post a picture of their menu so that people can see how much their food is online, especially considering they are now carryout only. She then laughed at me again. Unfortunately, a one star experience. Their food is good though
My father is 95 years old and loves their shrimp egg foo young. For his birthday he wanted the patties from this restaurant. I also love their food. I use to go to the restaurant posrt child. I am just sorry all they have is take-out.
So Moon Bowl and Sushi
Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Food was tasty and out fast. Hot green tea had a seaweed flavor. Got a Mongolian Beef bowl. Needed just a touch of sauce.
The food was good but the ramen wasn't very flavorful. It had a good amount of spice, just not a ton of flavor. Also, there were a few gnats flying around, which was a bummer. But their combo is a really good deal. Soup and a specialty roll for $20! And the service was very friendly👍
Mon Jin Lau
I went with some lighter fare today. traditional appetizers of soup, egg roll, and Rangoon. I got an iced tea and a green tea shot. iced tea with an oolong type flavor is different, but it's great. I didn't add any sugar and it was still fine. the duck sauce for the egg roll seems to be made in house it seems like that was good. the won ton soup was good. the Rangoon are nice, but I'm getting full. I had a feeling I might not eat heavy which was why I went with these instead a meal .they specialize in upscale sushi here, but I don't eat sushi, spicy food, or anything with onions. edit: I've been vibing here at the bar for a bit talking to people. this has been nice. this is a coffee Gelato. mmm. I need to come here and try more. I'm enjoying hanging at the bat
I’ve been a loyal customer of Mon Jin Lau for years and realized it was high time I shared my experience. This place has truly stood the test of time the quality of both food and service has only improved over the years, much like a well-aged wine. Every dish is a delight, and whenever I’m served by Pimi, she always suggests or even creates a dish that perfectly complements my taste buds. I highly recommend Mon Jin Lau for all occasions. It’s my hidden gem where I’ve celebrated many special milestones. Thank you for consistently delivering an exceptional dining experience!
Kung Fu Noodle House
4.67/5 When I walked into Kung Fu Noodle House for dinner, I saw a modest interior and heard that it was operated by a bickering family. I knew the food was going to be delicious. Then I started to drink the tea and I was blown away by how good it was. I'm not even a tea drinker! All the shrimp dim sum dishes that I had were as wonderful as I expected. Please give this business your support.
If you're familiar with dim sum or want to have an authentic experience, then this place is definitely the place to go! They start to get really busy on the weekend from noon to 1:30pm. It's not a big place; the bathrooms are clean. The food was good, not oily (however, certain type of dishes are meant to be oily), not heavily seasoned (you can use the soy sauce & chili oil on the table to adjust the flavor), very generous portion, and the carts go around frequently. I noticed they also have a physical menu to order family style dishes, but you'd definitely have to ask for it. The servers all speak English, though not fluent, so please be respectful and patient. If you speak mandarin or cantonese, then they definitely can respond alot faster. If you know what you like in dim sum, showing photos definitely help, so they can prepare it for you in the kitchen if they're not on the cart. I only took a star off because i wished there were more "sweet" options on the pastry cart, the table was kind of sticky, and it would be helpful to include a spoon with the utensils!
Lao Pot
My brother and I went this past weekend and our waitress Yan was so sweet. To explain how the ordering goes and if we had questions she doesn't hesitate to answer any questions that we had. This is the first time I had a Hot pot that wasn't the self-heating kind. And I loved it. Just remember when you go order your food and batches don't do like my brother and I did and order everything all at once because granite we ate the majority of everything we had but there was still some food and vegetables up on the table. They give you very healthy portions especially of the meat. I tried squid for the first time roasted barbecued rather to chewy for me but my brother loved it and said it was really good. We will likely be back here again the next time we're on that side of town.
Food: 3/5 (Great quality, but okay food!) Service: 5/5 (Wonderful service and great staff!) Atmosphere: 5/5 (Simply beautiful and scenic environment!) I recently had a delightful experience at Loa Pot, tucked away in Madison Heights, Michigan. This restaurant boasts a diverse menu packed with flavorful and okay options, attentive service, and an inviting atmosphere. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by wonderful aromas and noticed the impressive stove tops at each table, allowing guests to cook their pots to perfection. While it leans toward the pricier side, the overall experience certainly justified the cost in most ways. Food: The quality of the food was commendable, though some dishes were just average. Nevertheless, I appreciated the extensive selection and the freshness of each ingredient. The menu itself was a bit overwhelming at first, but our server was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the choices. Speaking of service, it was outstanding! Our server exhibited remarkable patience, ensuring we felt comfortable while selecting our meals. The water glasses never went empty, and the staff was very accommodating throughout our visit. The atmosphere of Loa Pot truly captivated me. The walls were adorned with vibrant decor, adding to the restaurant’s charm, and the entire space was impeccably clean. It was a refreshing blend of beauty and cultural elements. Overall, my experience at Loa Pot was exceptional. It's a fantastic spot for those looking to enjoy a meal in a social setting while savoring fresh food!
KungFu Bros Dumplings & Noodles
I'm so glad I stumbled on this place because I was shopping in the area. I wanted something different because I live about 40 minutes away. I went to this place it's unassuming just a little cute and clean spot, but when I tell you this was the best food I had in a long long time I mean it. Everything was so flavorful and so tasty it was delicious. The presentation of the food was just as tasty looking as the pics on the menu. Now I have to make this 40-minute drive just to get a carry out. The customer service was excellent the the girl that took my order was so friendly and so helpful. I had no idea just egg fried rice will be so flavorful and picture perfect. A must try if you're in the area even if you're not I'm willing to drive all the way back to get the same thing.
Super tasty authentic Korean-style cuisine. The staff is super friendly and family owned. The service is EXTREMELY fast and the food comes out tasting fresh. If you live in the area, consider checking it out. It’s definitely worth the stop!
