Los Amigos Portage
If you're longing for a favorite restaurant in southwest Detroit but can't wait to get there or won't be in town any time soon, this is a good substitute. Very fresh and flavorful salsa and chips are a great way to start your meal, possibly accompanied by an adult beverage. Happy hour is a generous four hour period every night, running until 8 pm. Taco Tuesday is hard to beat at $1.99 each for any variety. Excellent quality and dinner for two with drinks for under $30.
Table was somewhat dirty when we were seated. The music was skipping and distorted before finally fixing itself. The service was fast and waiter friendly. The food was okay. Kinda thrown together. But definitely edible. Cheese sauce was good.
Great Wall Express
This lady should not be in customer service at all. Walk in and ask as question about ordering food and shes on the phone ignoring customers. She just kept laughing at her phone. So a few customers just walked out. DO BETTER GREAT WALL. This is not a good look for your restaurant when you have faithful customers. Do better and get a person who wants to actually work and not play on the phone
I ordered Uber eats tonight and got the bourbon chicken! It was delicious! Larger portions too! We will be ordering here again.

After having barista experience for almost 2 years, I don't usually fuss over a bad drink. This thing was almost 6 dollars, and I knew something was off about it. I reluctantly went back and asked if they made the drink right. The guy working assured me the drink was made right, but I told him I had gotten this drink since I came here. He was very short with me and rudely gave in to making me the correct drink. My drink and the messed up one were completely different colors but he had nothing to say about that. I may be a fellow college student, but I did not need that kind of disrespect. 3 stars because I usually have a good experience here.
RICH CHINA
Worse place I've ever eaten, walk in and felt like we were intruding, the waiter was not nice at all. For a sit down restaurant you get a Styrofoam plate, a plastic fork, and a square of napkin. No offer of a glass of ice with your pop. The food was tasteless except the beef and broccoli which was spoiled. I only left a 1 star because nothing less. The guy was in back hollering at a child really loud. No I don't recommend this place. I tried to find something nice about the place to leave a plus but I found none.
Great food and a great price, very reminiscent of the California Chinese food I grew up with in SoCal. Every dish was cooked to perfection and I will definitely be coming back. Try the BBQ Spareribs...all I can say is muah...
Empire Wok
we ordered sesame chicken and rice. Was very good. We also ordered kungpoa chicken and it smelled like straight up mouse urine and tasted horrible. The amount i put on my plate go thrown away and i took the rest back and asked for a refund. They questioned why i ate some of it in which i told them it was on a plate and thrown away. They did replace with sesame chicken but didnāt give me any rice with it which was taken back with the bad stuff. I will never go back. I was questioned and not treated well at all.
I went in there with high hopes, only for them to be shattered. They gave me the worst crab rangoons I've ever had, I'm not even sure it was crab it tasted like mayo. I even found some pubes in it. Disgusting. They touched my booty and said I have to say I like it. My butt hurts.
China Express
Revising my review after picking up an order of Mongolian Chicken with LITERALLY 4 tiny pieces of chicken in it. It was all onions and sauce. The spring rolls were absolutely tiny and fried within an inch of their short lives. $16.54 we paid for this bs. As if inflation isnāt bad enough, then you get this crap. China Express - you are officially CANCELLED. And we live directly across the street.
A while lot of awesomeness here. I have been before, not impressed. But under new management, wow! What a huge difference management makes. They made a huge come-back with the service and food. They do thing a little different here. General Tsos chicken isn't small pieces, it is fresh chicken breasts. š Everything was hot and just amazing. Shocked me compared to the old place. 1000x better, good job guys on reviving a hole in the wall to a great place to eat with family and a quick stop for lunch. 1 plate or 10, you won't be disappointed. Love you guys. Thanks so much for an awesome experience.
Hong Kong Express
Hong Kong Express I really wanted his place to be good. Iāve lived in Saginaw for about 20 years of my life and we make some good Chinese food. Iāve had the best Chinese food. Bar none. Here we go. Another test. Can this place live up to the name? Letās go. Small place. Express only. Few chairs. The woman at the front desk was very nice. Good service. Server with a smile. I ordered Pepper Steak and Szechuan chicken. The two basic dishes. Pepper steak tasted correct. Spot on. Szechuan was clearly off. Did not taste correct. The sauce was more like sweet and sour. Clearly the wrong sauce. I really had high hopes. Another disappointed. You might enjoy, but to me, Iām still looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant. Not here. I see a lot of customers. Itās sad they donāt know what good Chinese food is. Hit up āChina 1ā in hazel park, MI for excellent Real Chinese food. Also try "Dragon Palace" in Vassar, MI for great Real Chinese food. Enjoy. To each his own. Highly Recommended
This is my go-to place for Chinese. My usual order includes Chicken Egg Foo Young combo meal, Sweet & Sour Chicken (quart), and Vegetable Fried Rice (quart). I get 5-6 meals out of it - so it's a great value! Consistently great quality and service!
Fast Wok
They have the best shrimp lo mein
They have no shrimp lomein
Golden Phoenix
All 6 of us had a horrible experience, food was awful, my shrimp fried rice was fried and cold shrimp mixed in not fried with the dry tasteless rice!! Server could not understand us. Shame on this restaurant. Never go back again. All 6 of us were very disappointed and we were there to celebrate 2 birthdays. We actually saw people get up and walk out because they were not getting service! 1 waitress is never enough. The food was expensive for what we got. I barely ate my meal.
We ordered carry out on Christmas Eve. The order was placed online a few days in advance. I recognize that it was probably their busiest day of the year. The order was late and it was a bit chaotic in the restaurant at pickup. That was all to be expected. Every Chinese restaurant in the area experiences the same thing on Christmas Eve. All of our food was done well. Everyone was happy with the orders. It was one of the best Christmas Eve Chinese Food eating experiences that we had post-Covid. We will definitely be back. The sizzling rice soup was great. The spicy mustard was especially spicy (in a good way). The vegetables in the dishes were fresh and not over cooked.
China Village
I sampled everything my girl got and it was delicious. She ordered the sesame chicken and the shrimp eggfoo young and ordered the Mongolian beef.Everything was good.
The food was very good. I would've preferred a bit more spicy. They did give us some chili oil. They were super friendly! Seemed pretty clean, but I did think it was maybe a touch warm inside. We had the curry beef and szechuan chicken.
El Camino
Fast service, friendly staff. Food was delicious I had the Order 66, which is queso birria taco's, the consommĆ© was some of the best I ever had. We also had the Yoga which was pickled pineapple cactus it had a little spice to it but was really good. Washed it down with a spicy margarita šš»
Cool spot to get some tex mex. Nice bar options with some different margaritas. Nice appetizers and an interesting variety of tacos and other entrees that will fill you up. 1. Ceviche was great. A nice shareable for 2 2. Cubano Torta. Beautifully flavored 3. Carne Asada tacos, reminiscent of a street taco with cilantro and onion with well seasoned meat
Szechuan Empire North
Absolutely delicious!!!! The ginger garlic brown sauce on the chicken broccoli is to die for. We drove 45 mins to eat here. I donāt understand the negative reviews ⦠they are wrong. They do not know what to order. But no place is perfect so if you did have a bad experience just try it again and also go sit in the restaurant. We had such a wonderful experience. The older woman was so kind and we spilled water not once but 2s. 5kids and 2 adults. She also gave us a HUGE bowl of the ginger garlic sauce. We also got the shrimp and broccoli and almond chicken. 5/5 Thank you
My friend and I have been desperate to find good Chinese food in the area - weāve been disappointed by the food at some others. I I have passed this place in the car all the time and we finally tried it - the general tso chicken was crisp, spicy, and delicious. The egg roll and crab Rangoon were crispy and flavorful. Loved the egg drop soup!! And my friend loves everything she got as well. We had an elderly woman greet us and get our food. She was kind, quick, and we were in and out with our food in 5 minutes. This is my new go to Chinese restaurant. So glad I tried it.
