Kam PO Kitchen
Everything was huge! The salt and pepper pork chops were amazing! The chow mein(?) wasn't my favorite. Would definitely come again.
The food was fantastic... but they scam you so beware. They demand higher prices than in the menu, we were forced to pay nearly 40$ for three dishes when it was around 26-7 according to the menu
Broadway Dim Sum Cafe
AMBIENCE: Small, simple, straightforward restaurant. Not fancy or modern, but you can tell this place has been here for a minute. I wouldn't really recommend this place if you're in a wheelchair. FOOD: Good food, couldn't really complain as every dish came out hot. I really liked their siu mai, mix some soy sauce with chili oil & you've a got a good sauce to dip it in. OVERALL: No wait, food steadily came out, & the bill didn't hurt my wallet. I would recommend paying with cash here though.
First time trying dim sum and it was delicious, we got the bbq pork, also fried dumplings, chicken fried rice was good too. I will definitely be coming back
Cafe Broadway
This is a nice, clean spot with fantastic service. It came highly recommended by a friend, and it didn’t disappoint. We arrived around 5:45 PM and were able to find street parking by 6 PM. The owner was kind enough to guide us on what to try, encouraging us to explore some new dishes. The dim sum was outstanding. We enjoyed duck wraps with fresh vegetables, a variety of dumplings, shumai, rice soup, and fried rice. The soup dumplings were especially comforting in the cool weather. The chicken feet were tender, flavorful, and had just the right kick. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this place!
i enjoyed dining at this restaurant so much! The staff and serves were SO NICE and helpful, they gave us some of their bunnies for dessert!🩷 Every dish was so good, we finished everything 😭 soup dumplings were just perfect and so juicy! roasted duck was delicious! The interior of the restaurant looks so clean, neat, and new! Great big restrooms by the way! Big clean tables, good lighting, new ceilings :)))
Fondue Chinoise
You will get drastic diarrhea after eating here! The waitress here is condescending and it took them half an hour from receiving the order to putting the hotpot on your desk. Trust me. It's better off eating hotpot at home.
Quality is decent and the ambiance is nice, but the prices are outrageous for hot pot. They are very stingy with their portions as well. You can do much better in SF for hot pot (especially around Sunset/Richmond). Came here once and have never returned since
Noble Palace II
2025 Well thankfully they have done an amazing turnaround here. the flavor profile on the wonton soup is superb with nuances with pork and egg in a wonderful broth with wontons and green onions. smells great, taste better. Attentive service, serving lots of delicious hot tea on a cold day. Shrimp roll hot and crispy. Almond chicken battered in bite size pieces. Mongolian beef tender and tasty. Fried rice dry and slightly crunchy. I liked it. Next time I want to try the egg foo Yung and mu shu pork. 2024 I see that they're still plenty of cars in the parking lot so I should try coming again and seeing how they have improved. Hopefully they are back to their traditional standard of excellence. 2022 Stopped coming here after COVID because the last couple of times the dishes were heavy on onions and not enough on the other ingredients. Also, they seemed short staffed. 2020 So glad we have reason to come to this part of town. Excellent food, easy parking. Close to WSU campus on Broadway. We always order family dinner. Husband prefers how they make Honey walnut with chicken instead of prawns. But I like the prawns and snow peas in delicate sauce. The BBQ pork was delicious, clean fresh and tender. The crab wontons are so superior. So thin, crisp and creamy inside. AMAZING!!! Got to try this hidden gem. Husband prefers their hotnsour soup, flavorful but not overpowering. I like the wonton soup. It is really packed an filling. You will enjoy the leftover chow mein and fried rice too.
I ordered the chicken chow mein and sweet-and-sour pork combo and everything had a funky smell and taste and was uneatable. The pork fried rice was cooked to death and had the same funky smell, same with the egg flour soup that was missing egg. I ordered through door dash so this trash cost me $30. This place used to be good years ago.
Porridge & Things
Very good place to have a porridge of different combination. We tried the bonito pork ribs peanuts with black eggs sawo porridge, Chinese broccoli beef, spicy beef tendon and free range chicken with ginger sauce. Everything were well prepared and delicious.
The clay pot congee here is absolutely delicious. I’m not very familiar with Cantonese cuisine, but the congee and fried rice I ordered suited my taste perfectly. Especially when paired with youtiao (Chinese fried dough), the soft and tender texture of the youtiao soaked up the flavorful broth, leaving a lasting impression. The nearby parking lot is less than a minute’s walk away, making it very convenient. Each dish they serve is generously portioned, and it’s also great for takeout.
wonderful
Broadway avenue in Millbrae CA., has many fantastic Asian restaurants to enjoy. A few friends introduced me to Wonderful nearly 10 years ago and I never forgot it. Their menu is interesting and everything tastes good. Though my personal delight is their Beef noodle soup, I like to substitute the beef with shrimp. Now the last time I had it that way, was long ago. Perhaps they don't make it with shrimp anymore, you'll have to ask if want to try that dish. A couple of more things. They do have clean restrooms, and their lunch menu is sorta incognito. You may have to request it. Wonderful is just off LA Cruz, on Broadway avenue in Millbrae CA.
A nice clean homey Chinese restaurant serving human dishes. I will say they have the best smork I ever tasted. My goal is to return and try all their dishes that have smork in it cuz it's got nice smoky flavor. We also had cilantro with shredded beef. The beef is thinly cut/sliced instead of bigger chunks. A great sign for a Chinese place. The steam egg is just like what my wife and I had back in Taiwan. Childhood memories! Another reason i would happily drive from South bay to eat here again is their dish is NOT oily like other Hunan places in South bay...or Chinese restaurants in general. It's family style restaurant and it's not exactly cheap. The quality of the dishes well justifies the price. Worth it!
Lai Lai Restaurant
I’m leaving this review because I feel the need to provide some counterpoint to the last two 1-star reviews. My family and I came on a Monday night and ordered chicken crispy pan fried noodles, salt and pepper fried fish, Mongolian beef and eggplant and tofu with basil. All of the dishes were generously portioned, hot and DELICIOUS. Sorry, no cardboard here. I’m Chinese, but that doesn’t make me an expert. Kind of like how taking cooking classes at a local chinese restaurant doesn’t make me an expert. If you’re like me and you just enjoy tasty food, come give them a try. Opened in 1983 by Uncle, Lai Lai has stayed in the family but they need your support. Let’s keep them thriving!
This place is a hidden gem, I had lived in Millbrae for like 10 years and have never been here before. The place definitely looks like it's been here a while. Interior is simple and very clean. I love the display of airplanes. Our waiter was super helpful and attentive. All of the items we had were delicious and I highly recommend. 1. Calamari - Crispy and lightly salted. Jalapeños definitely give it that extra kick. 2. Schezuan style fried chicken wings - This is spicy yet once you start eating it you can't get enough. Clears your nose right up. 3. Salt and pepper pork chop - I was blown away by this one, it was boneless and tasty, not greasy. This felt like something I can snack on all day while vegging out in front of the tv. 4. Dry Braised beef chow fun - This was delicious, the noodles were perfectly cooked and didn't give you that greasy kind of slimy after taste. This was a clean and not greasy. Not sure if you understand what I'm trying to say but if you've had your share of chow fun you get what I'm trying to explain. 5. Honey walnut prawns - not going to lie this by far is the best one we've ever had. It was crispy and crunchy. I definitely loved that it wasn't overly drenched in the sauce. Walnuts were addicting to eat at well. 6. Fried rice yang chow style - It's like a house special fried rice but with a perfect mix of meat and veggies. I definitely, can't wait to come back here again. The dishes were simple yet tasty. Portions are huge, which is rare now a days and definitely reasonably priced. Parking can be a challenge depending on the time you come.
Laka
TLDR: some decent food but mostly average food/price We had a few different dishes. The first meal comes with a lotus wrapped rice with chicken (pretty small), plain congee (porridge) and a drink for $12 which is pretty expensive for what it is, especially with plain congee. I ordered the $18 three item plate and though the value is decent, the char-siu was very lean and no fat at all, the chicken was average but the roast pork was my favorite with very crispy skin Milk tea was also average, not great but not amazing
I like to come on weekdays with family not as packed food always good. Fish porridge is my toddlers favorite here and is pretty fresh. I like their breakfast combos . The wife like the sticky rice.
606
We had dinner here and the food & service was great! The staff was friendly and fast. Lots of great variety on the menu. We had Simon’s garlic chicken, crispy egg rolls and honey walnut prawns — all were delicious! The atmosphere is cute and clean! Would definitely be back.
We've been eating at this restaurant since its soft opening. The food is delicious, and ingredients are fresh. Alvin and Eugene treat us well each time we come to dine-in or order take-out. On our most recent visit, we ordered the pot stickers, garlic noodles, beef chow fun, and salt & pepper fish. Very tasty! We consider 606 Restaurant to be one of our go-to destinations.
Dim Sum Bistro
We stopped in based on reviews and tried a few items: pork bun, soup dumplings, fried dumplings and shrimp dim sum. The filling in the pork bun was very sweet and the meat didn’t taste very fresh, so it was just ok. The shrimp dim sum was tasty and so were the fried dumplings😋. The soup dumplings had a good taste but I don’t think any of us were fans of the texture. The place is very small and was crowded when we entered, so we had to find a corner to review the menu. FYI: there is no seating. While standing in line a lady attempted to cut us and place her order. The lady behind the counter promptly informed her that we were next in line and took our order. This was appreciated as she didn’t seem to speak English. I would try this place again if ever in the area.
Very authentic China town dim sum family owned find. Up to 69 different options on the menu to choose from. While you wait you can hear the sounds of the foreign native languages of the family as they speak to one another while preparing our food. So much fun.
China Live
Food overall is good and filling. Cucumber salad, pork dumpling, and the noodles were my favorite. Definitely order less than you think. Atmosphere is a bit loud but it is an open kitchen so that plays a role.
China Live is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. We started with the dim sum appetizer, which was incredible – each bite was bursting with flavor. The scallion bread was another highlight, perfectly crispy and delicious. For our main dishes, we tried the chicken curry and the sauash, both of which were outstanding. Every dish was expertly prepared and full of flavor. China Live truly provides a memorable and delightful dining experience. Highly recommend!
