Food is interesting as it has some modern takes on Hong Kong cafe staples, but it is surprisingly bland... I wonder who the target audience is. The best things were ironically the simplest things: the milk tea, the green beans, and the fried fish. On the other hand, the Hainan chicken noodle soup was lackluster, not really sure what they were going for with the soup broth, and the Portuguese chicken baked rice had no flavor except salt and maybe a touch of coconut. Don't get me wrong, it's all edible, but it's just not going to blow your mind.

We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the HK food here. We ordered the pork chop rice and it was delicious. The beef tendon soup had delicious noodles and succulent beef, even if it had a bit too much chewy tendon for our taste.

I was looking for a good spot to find Bun Rieu and a friend recommended this place. Finally had a chance to try it and I’ll definitely be coming back. The staff was friendly and attentive to us. Each broth was bursting with flavor and we all gave it a 10/10 for first sip.

I am a huge Pho fan, have tried many Pho places in NYC and The Greater Boston area. In my opinion, Pho So 1 ranked # 1 of all the Pho I have tried. The broth is rich, can taste a bit salty at first; it balances out when you mix in the herbs and lime. For #14, Pho Dac Biet the XL bowl, they give A LOT of meat! Get the XL bowl if you LOVE Pho

The restaurant is located on a busy street with street parking and a municipal parking lot across the street. The interior is very nice and cozy. The service was great when we went on a Saturday night, we are surprised it wasn't busy. They seem to getany takeout orders. Our orders came out quickly. Appreciate the extra details using beautiful dishes. The Sugoi Braintree roll is so good, definitely recommend it! The All Day Combo is a great deal that includes a bowl of miso soup. The quality of the sushi is great here and we're satisfied with the overall experience.

We went out for my husband’s birthday tonight and had the most wonderful dinner. All of the sushi was delicious and fresh, the atmosphere was intimate and happy, and they were so kind to our little daughter. The prices were also quite reasonable for the quality and service provided. I really appreciated how special they made the evening feel, and we will definitely be back!

Went here on a Saturday early evening. Wasn't busy, got seated immediately. However by the time we were leaving, more people arrived and were arriving. We grabbed cocktails and dinner. I got the Harvest Manhattan for my cocktail and it was good but a little too sweet for my liking, but that's my fault as I didn't pay close attention to the ingredients. For my entree, I had the stuffed chicken pasta. It was delicious. Just wished the pasta was cooked a bit more longer. Actually I would have preferred a different type of pasta such as regular spaghetti, linguini or a fettuccine. The pasta it came with was a thick spaghetti-like pasta. I believe the correct pasta name is called bucatini. My table also ordered the Salt and Vinegar Fish and Chips and the Pistachio Crusted Salmon which i was told were good. Our apps consisted of fried chicken sliders and Bacon wrapped Squash Bites. The Bacon wrapped Squash Bites were my fave. Bacon was well done, nice and crispy and the squash was prepared well. A nice combination. Our server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cool with TVs. NFL games were on. I would visit here again. We had a great time overall.

The bar is lovely and wide with quite a few seats to have a couple of drinks and a bite to eat, which we did gladly. Service is excellent and the food is very good. Our only grumble is the number of beers on tap. When we went, it looked like there were a number of lines that weren't operational. The lasagna bites and poke tuna rice bowl were very good: tasty and prepared as described. The rice bowl could have used just a little more aioli, but still tasted very good.

The meat and the rice were bone free, well seasoned, and delicious!!! A little dry, but I was doing a “too good to go” bag at the end of the day, so that’s okay. I will have to come back for more! Parking is tricky, because there is one entrance and one exit and they are not obvious, so be aware and careful when pulling in (especially if you’re crossing multiple lanes of traffic to do it), but there is free parking. Also, lots of black ice right now in the lot, which is not the businesses fault, as I’m from of them it’s fine, but just be careful!!!

I love this hidden gem! Extremely upset didn’t find this place sooner! They have awesome delicious fusion menu! Different background Caribbean food, Spanish, and Asian! Definitely coming back to try some of their famous fusion food!!

Had one of the luncheon specials, and it was delicious. The hot and sour soup, chicken wings, and General Tsao’s Chicken were all excellent. My wife had the beef with broccoli, and was very happy with her dish too. Yummy meal at a good price — we’ll definitely be coming back.

We love the whole experience at Mandarin Gourmet! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is comfortable, clean, and classy, and the service is terrific! The appetizers are our favorites around—especially the crab rangoon, scallion pancakes, and chicken wings! Portions are generous, and drinks are great, too! This is our go-to Chinese restaurant!

Horrible food and unsanitary staff! Woman at the front spat a big chunk of her spit on her hands before counting our money! House special calamari was the worst we’ve ever had- thick breading and unpleasant flavor- like old burnt oil. Salt and pepper shrimp were burnt. Literally spat out the pineapple shrimp dish. Veggie dishes had an unpleasant gelatinous sauce with overcooked veggies. Broccoli was cooked to a mushy texture. Shrimp fried rice was the only edible item. This was our first and LAST time trying this place.

A non descript storefront, foyer leads to a small lobby with host counter. Dining/bar area in adjacent room. Friendly woman handled my order. This was our first time calling in since our usual place was closed for vacation. Was only there for take-out. Ordered a small assortment of standard dishes. Scallion pancakes were layered, puffy, crispy and not oily. Under seasoned by design in order to sop up the nice soy dipping sauce. Chicken teriyaki skewers were tender and flavorful. The spring rolls (that were fried) had mushrooms in them-pleasant surprise. We got the veggie lo mein and pork lo mein. Ample portions and the pork was done homestyle strips-not the red dye spareribs style. Overall we liked everything and might now have a new go-to spot for Chinese take out.

I was raised in Changsha so I've been searching for an authentic Hunan restaurant for years and years in both New York and Boston, and I have to say this restaurant is the real deal. They had a great selection of Hunan dishes and a lot of things I've never seen anywhere else in the States. Of the food we ordered, the eggplant with pi dan, the la rou, and the lotus root were all standouts. The flavors were great and really brought me back to Changsha. Can't speak for some of the things on the menu that other reviewers are saying weren't good but would recommend ordering more Hunan specialty dishes at this place. The service wasn't bad for us either- they served our table of 4 pretty quickly and food didn't take long either. Overall would definitely come back and would highly recommend!!

A very nice and flavourful chinese restaurant! The fried chicken was bursting with flavour, almost too much since it was a tiny bit too salty. But it was so so good! Crunchy, umami, and spicy perfection! The noodles were a bit disappointing, the broth didn’t have too much flavour and the peppers didn’t really mesh well with the rest of the dish. They were just interrupting my flow of chewing, if that makes sense. The broth wasn’t too flavorful, it was just spicy for no reason. That being said, the noodles weren’t that flavorful either. Finally, the cauliflower dish was great, no complaints. The cauliflower was crunchy, spicy, and flavorful. Great food overall. The only thing that I’m actually not that happy about was the wait time. But, they did mention that their internet service was down at the moment, so because we didn’t place our order through the online ordering method which is what they usually accept, they probably forgot about our order because I waited about an HOUR for my food. Which is a very very long time. I was starving and other people who sat down after me got their food before me. I just wish they had a server come and help us because the internet being down made our experiences much longer than needed and much more of a hassle. I hope it doesn’t happen again.

The Sushi is the best I have had ! I have had all over the world! I always try something different and I always love it 😀😀😀😀😀

Delicious food, there is usually no wait and the service is excellent. He brought up our appetizer very fast being pork dumplings which were excellent and can’t go wrong with a lychee Martini. I recommend this place 10/10.

A taste of Chinatown in Coolidge Corner I saw this place recently opened and stopped by with some friends for a weeknight dinner. We were welcomed and seated immediately. Everything exceeded our expectations; both the food and service were great! The menu is extensive and filled with regional sichuan dishes as well as more popular Chinese options. We ordered the fish filet with chopped chili, beer braised duck, mapo tofu, and wonton soup. Everything was flavorful and came out quickly. It's tough to pick, but our favorite was the fish, which was served on a sizzling platter and hugely sized. Everything was very reasonably priced. Our waitress and host were both friendly and helpful; we never had to ask for more water or napkins, etc. I recommend ordering things family style as intended due to the portion sizes and variety of options. If you're looking for a comfortable, authentic Chinese restaurant in Brookline, this is the place. I can't think of another like it in the neighborhood; it really felt like we were transported to Chinatown. Highly recommend - we'll be returning customers!

Delicious food and lovely atmosphere! The menu has a great variety of dishes. The staff goes above and beyond to be considerate and kind. Give this place a try — you won’t regret it. Definitely looking to come back to try other items on the menu!

Finally tried this Thai restaurant, and it exceeded our expectations! It’s been a while since we enjoyed a meal where every dish impressed us. We dined in, and while we were the only ones there, it's clear that takeout is popular. The space is small but cozy, with enough room to feel comfortable. The service was prompt and attentive. We ordered the scallion pancakes, pad see ew, and khao moo tod. The scallion pancakes were incredibly crispy and came with a delicious sweet sauce. Both the noodles and the pork with rice were packed with flavor. The pork dish, our favorite, featured crispy fried pork over rice, with some sausage, hard-boiled eggs, and a refreshing cucumber side. The sweet sauce enhanced the dish perfectly. We enjoyed every bite and highly recommend this place. Can’t wait to return!

The best Thai food so far. The taste was authentic with reasonable price/portion. We recommend (we ordered these) Kao Mun Kai, Kao Ka Moo, Beef egg noodles, and Kuay Jub. They were so gooooooooooood. Come try it once. The only downside was that the air condition was a bit warm. We were sweating while eating pur dinner. It is commutable from Boston via the Red Line (45 mins) and about 15 mins via car.

Tried some Boston Chinese food to compare it to Texas Chinese food. Really like the atmosphere. You will need your flashlight to read menu. Got the Sesame Chicken, egg rolls, and wonton soup. Unfortunately, the soup and egg rolls came out pretty much at the same time as the main course, so we had to eat them quickly so the chicken didn't get cold. Egg rolls tasted good and were stuffed much more than Texas egg rolls. Chicken and soup were tasty. Thought it was a bit pricey, but I can't compare it to other area Chinese restaurants.

This is the worst meal I have ever received in my life from an establishment. Not only is the food disgusting the price is outrageous. Take it from me do not order here. The chicken was just in a puddle of oranges for some reason. The noodles look like they just boiled them and put them on the plate. I couldn’t even finish the meal and honestly was super disappointed especially from a place that looked like it should be good. If I could give less stars I would. This place is disgusting.
