Cathay Imperial
We have dined here multiple times in the past. However today when we went we noticed that the aquarium was separated by like 80/20. On the small side was the biggest fish by itself. On the other side were 5 additional fish. It was not always like this because you cannot miss a big fish without enough room to turn around as you try and eat. I asked the waitress about this and she told me that the bigger fish was a bully. If that’s the case give it away or buy an additional aquarium so the poor fish can move around. It must be very lonely because it used to be with all the other fish. Seeing this ruined my appetite and I will never be back here.
You don’t get as much food on your plate as some Asian restaurants but it was very good . Lately , we’ve been comparing shrimp with lobster sauce around town at different Asian restaurants . This number 1 for flavor so far , however not number one in the amount or size of shrimp they give you . Personally , I’m into the size , amount , and quality of shrimp on my plate , Very tasty , however . (Didn’t care for the tiny shrimp in my rice or the pink color on my rice. )Atmosphere was lovely but could have been friendlier . Also , feed your fish so it doesn’t want to eat my hair . I asked the name of the fish , the girl said he didn’t have a name . They call it red devil . Gee, how nice . Name your fish for God’s sake . How rude .
China Palace Restaurant
Can't say enough good things about this place. It's a hole in the wall and doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's some of the best Chinese food we've had in town. So much that we ended up coming back again and again. The prices are amazing and the food is so flavorful, especially the mandarin chicken and the sweet and sour pork. We also loved that the default rice is shrimp fried rice, rather than just steamed rice. Highly recommend if you want simple, delicious food.
I go here because it’s right across the street from where I live, but I’m kind of just pleased with the food quality lately because I ordered chicken and broccoli. It’s fried rice but I must’ve paid for fried rice and broccoli because there’s hardly any chicken. The people are always really nice and I’ve never really eaten inside so I can’t tell you how the atmosphere is, but it’s always quiet when I go in there.
Grand Buffet
The food is okay for the price but make sure you go after 3:30 for the seafood. The setting change after that. More options but the lunch menu I didn’t like had very few things to eat and the food was cold. The drinks are watered down so I would suggest water. And very few dessert options.
I am late writing my review, but it has to be done no matter how late, because our visit was phenomenal. My husband, our three toddlers, my mother, and I arrived with a half an hour to eat on a Sunday. Irene was so welcoming, helpful, sweet, and made sure that we were satisfied the entire time. I appreciate them wholeheartedly for giving us a great experience. We left happy with the selection, and taste of the food! The service was everything that you would need to have your expectations exceeded. We will definitely be back!
Red Apple Chinese Restaurant
Order thru UberEATS. Food was hot & delicious! Everything we asked for came in the bag. Portions were generous & at a good price. Egg drop soup could use some flavor.
I got the sweet&sour shrimp with shrimp fried rice it was so good.My boyfriend had shrimp toast it was also delicious. Thanks you made my night.
Little Chinese Kitchen
The food is made fast, taste delicious and it’s good portions for the price. I also like how I can order and pay online. I got egg drop soup with wontons in it, Szechuan beef, chicken, shrimp, and scallops in garlic sauce, shrimp egg rolls, and sweet and sour chicken. All for only $31 and some change although I did get the pint on sweet and sour chicken for free since my order was over $25. I hope these pictures and this review helps. Thank you to these folks for taking care of dinner for my family.
Horrible 2 order in 1 week both wrong and missing food then they tell you they. were not wrong , That I didn't know what I have been ordering for the last 10 years! Thats it they lost a 10 year customer. Even though in the past we have gotten bad food from time to time we never got horrible service like this both time this week. Im done
Taste of Canton
First of all, the place has been just taken over by a former chef of 10 years from 5 Haphineses Chinese restaurant in New Orleans. This is basically a takeout establishment, though there are a few tables to eat on from take out boxes only. No waitresses. This is a family-run establishment, using the same recipes from the former owner, according to the new owner. There’s no A/C at present, and according to the daughter, whom works counter, it’s been broken for a year. She told me that the renters are liable for such repairs. I sat alone at one of the tables to eat my order with only a fan running and the entrance door opened. It wasn’t that bad, however, but had I known ahead of time I would have taken it to go. Anyways, I ordered the shrimp and lobster sauce combo which includes combo fried rice and egg roll. The egg roll was large and filled with noticeable shrimp and other fillings, and it was above average. Freshly prepared, not sitting under heat lamp, evidenced by its crispy outside casing. The fried rice looked better than it tasted, but a little soy sauce and sesame seed oil and it would be a hit. The the shrimp and lobster sauce is one of the best I have ever had, very flavorful with enough shrimp to top it off. Both the owner and his wife are very pleasant, and I met the younger children who seemed well mannered.
The service was very poor! $2 up charge to remove pork from rice. $2 up charge for sweet and sour sauce. The temperature in side was 84 degrees, when asked if they could turn on the air on, it was met with an “no”. Will never go back
Hot Wok
Best egg foo young I've ever tasted! Really good food and generous portions. Very pleased and will go out of my way to eat there. Best in new Orleans area!
They nail everything. My easy go-to for Chinese takeout. Also it's super consistent, never had any bad dishes
Oriental Triangle Chinese Restaurant & Lounge
The restaurant may not seem all that great from the outside, but it’s good on the inside! It’s very nostalgic and the food is so good!
The son is a very nice person (make sure to leave a big tip for him fr) and the food is amazing. The sweet and sour chicken is the most exquisite thing ever and I will say try again. I would recommend 100% 5 star experience.
China House
I've been eating here for 30 years!! Still delicious and the same family owns and operates. I love it!! I love the combination lo mein!!
It is a family ran, local establishment. I have eaten here for over 15 years and live in a different part of the state. Everytime I am back in the area, this is the only Chinese place I eat at. The brothers welcome you when you walk in and they are very friendly. If you opt to stay eat, they pay attention when you need a refill on your drink or if you need anything while you wait for your order. Everything is freshly made so it always comes out really hot. Since the owners and their daughter in law are the chefs, the food is consistant no matter how long its been since you last visited. The prices are great for the portions you are served. All around a wonderful place! They do not have a website. I have posted a picture of their menu for you. :)
Hong Kong Kitchen
Chicken was immaculate best fried rice I’ve had in years will be going back. Customer service is very well. Lady at the front desk very respectful, very quick, very helpful and is always helping customers with recommendations. 1000/10 🔥
I mostly eat at Little China's kitchen on David drive, but it was closed on Tuesday so I tried Hong Kong kitchen. Big disappointment, number one I ordered the lunch special just like I do at little China kitchen, but it was nothing like it the portions were less, no egg roll and the food just didn't taste the same. I was very disappointed.
China Woks
Nicest people on earth, I've been going here for over 15 years. Same genuine nice family all these years. Good for you can trust.
Pull up to the slightly ducked off restaurant it was completely unoccupied. (Which could leave one sketch) kids studying in the front area. One gets up takes order..as a teenager he doesn't seem interested lol...not mad at that. The inside gave off old-fashioned stuffy small corner store vibe. STR8 TO THE POINT its simple ...your basic Chinese takeout. It was FRESH. HOT. YUMMY. HAD GREAT PORTIONS. 3.4-5!
Chongqing Restaurant
The food is always delivered quickly and comes piping hot. The portions are good sized and the food is always delicious. We've ordered from here numerous times and everything has been spot on every single time. One of our favorites!
I've lived in the area for almost 10 years and didn't want to get food from my regular Chinese restaurant and didn't want to drive to my 2nd choice. So, I searched my area and found Chong Qing. The food was great! I ordered something simple to try it out (pint of shrimp fried rice and veggie rolls). It was quick, exactly as I ordered it and GOOD! I like a darker fried rice and theirs was perfect. There were only 2 cons. I spoke and said thank you many times and wasn't acknowledged (there was no language barrier) the other was the portion size, cost ratio was was slightly more than what I normally get and pay for. Overall, I'll be going back!.. soon.
