Nine Dragon Chinese Restaurant
Man… the food was shockingly salty. I mean… it verges on inedible. I had the cashew chicken. I order this dish at every new Chinese restaurant I visit. This was the worst example I’ve ever come across. The chicken was cut into thin and small strips which were breaded and fried… before being stir fried with veggies and doused in a sauce. It was not good… this is me being restrained in my dislike for the food. The Rangoon was tasty. One bright spot.
Love this place and the staff is incredibly nice. Go once a week. Love the sesame and General Tso’s and the Pork Fried Rice is great. New renovations has it very clean, too. Great place. My favorite local Chinese spot
Chinese Inn-Nicholson
Had been wanting to try this place for a long time. Would probably give 2.5 stars. Customer service was bad. Food just wasn't that good. Lovely atmosphere. Would be so much better if they played some music though, and if they had fresher food, were faster, and had good customer service.
NO STARS That bad Years ago, I was assaulted by the owners because they were rude and nasty while I was ordering food. I had to call the police. After many years I decided to let bygones go by. But when I order food through DoorDash, the food tastes OLD. The Lo Mein was soggy. The meats were tough. The egg rolls tasted like they were fried in OLD grease. . When I called, she continued to tell me that they cook everything when it’s ordered. That has nothing to do with cooking it in old grease and using soggy noodles. I will NOT ever go back. And I don’t recommend this place.
China One
update: I wrote my review and then went and read all the reviews. You will notice the same thing over and over. They are stingy on the food, and no flavor. That about wraps it up. previous: I just went here last night. The first thing I noticed was the price. The price of my meal was 3.00 higher from where I usually go. When I went to order my daughter the crab ragoon, I was like WoW, they are double the price. Well ok, my daughter wanted them so I ordered 2. I got 2 other meals in case my order wasn't good, because what I get is hit or miss, never know. I ordered a back up in case. I ordered coconut shrimp too to share. While waiting I noticed how tight and greedy they were with their signs. Can not over stuff to go box or they will charge double. How many people go for a to go box and stuff it? All the time. How many times are you charged double? Never, from all the places I went, all over. There was even a sign that said "No refill on drinks". That right there was extremely tight surprising. I was really taken back on that, lol. When do you ever see that? I only saw that one time in a place in Livingston but it didn't stay open that long. Now the food. You would think since it cost top dollar for to go food it would be good. This was the most bland, no flavor food I have ever eaten. The seafood delight was so bland that even after 2 packets of salt, and 2 soy sauces, it still didn't have any flavor. The coconut shrimp was done in a bread batter and not a crispy buttery flour batter like other places. The coconut sauce was good but who can go wrong on that? The double priced rangoons were hard and when I say had nothing in them, they had enough to coat the inside and was hollow. I was furious about that because 8.25 for a wonton is insane. I also go hot and sour soup, and that was actually good and priced around what others price theirs but was still on the higher end of that scale and it was fine because it was actually flavored as it is supposed to be. Most other places forget the sour part and just make it hot. I will not be going back to this place. My husband's singapore was good but not as seasoned and spicy as others we have been to. So if you like spicy, it wasn't. It was pleasant to me because I don't' like spicy more than flavor. Bottom line is, if you are going to charge high prices for your food, please at least make sure it taste good. The people were nice to face but I gave 3 stars because even though nice, they are the ones making the rules and setting the greedy prices of no refill on drinks, even though it wouldn't be costing them much at all and charging "double" and not as just according to weight to where it may come out to be 14-15 for the overage instead of 20.
Have been here 3 times total. First two times were good. Third time I chose to get something different. Mongolian beef. Have had from other places in the past and loved it. To start it was honestly 98 percent onions and peppers. Maybe 3 to 4 little pieces of beef. Besides this the sauce was so horrible I had to just throw it all away. Its not even about a specific taste thing, the smell and taste will not leave me and makes me nauseous. Please take this item off your menu. I had the happy family and four seasons both above average. Did not expect something like this to come from y'all. Nothing but onions as picture shows.
Asian Pearl Chinese Restaurant
I haven't been here since Mimi owned ot, so I thought I would give it a shot. It's still similar, just a little different. I would have liked to have more flavor in the fried rice. The hot and sour soup was light and flavorful. The General Tso's chicken was just as it's always been, crunchy and delicious. Service was prompt and polite. Best Chinese food in the greater Baker/Zachary area.
Had a wonderful Sunday dinner after church at the Asian Pearl! The hot and sour soup is the best I’ve ever tasted. Both my husband and I had delicious entrees that were beautifully presented. And our server, Echo, was personable and fun as well as great at taking care of us. Thanks Asian Pearl, for a great dining experience!
China Wok
This was my second time ordering take out here. Last time was over a year ago and I can't remember why I don't get my food from here. It was the rice for sure. Ordering online was very convenient and easy. My food was ready and hot within the estimated time frame. I entered the store paid for my food and left with my order. My order was correct and pickup was error free. The food is what brings it down to two stars. I ordered the chicken and broccoli combination. I was having something to eat before I went out for the evening. The fried rice was bland and no veggies which made it just colored white rice. It seems like I got the bottom of the rice and it had a big clump in it of hard mushed rice. The icing on the cake was as I was chewing, I discovered a big piece of plastic cooked with the food. It was not appetizing as I pulled it from my mouth. As I was digging, I found more pieces of plastic chopped in my food. Very concerning. I closed the container because my appetite was ruined and I had to head out for the evening. Please beware of the quality of your meal before consumption. I would not recommend.
I believe this is the best Chinese food in Baton Rouge. It’s a takeout place, but the food has always been fantastic, with large portions and a very reasonable price. My favorite Chinese place to go!
Hot Wok
This place has been rock solid in my experience. The food is consistently good no matter what you order. The menu has a ton of variety and the dishes are all properly distinctive. Good fresh veggies. Several types of noodles. Fried stuff is crisp without being greasy, which is not always easy to pull off. Their fried chicken is surprisingly excellent every single time. On top of all that, the staff is always friendly (sometimes rushed but never rude), portion sizes are bigger than average, and their turnaround time is quick even for large orders. I'd recommend them any day of the week.
Haven't been there in years just the food was immaculate
China King
Barely anything on the buffet but you get charge for the buffet. Stay for about an hour and towards the end stuff start to get refilled. But get charge for a full buffet THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE! They was too focus on to go orders instead of refilling the buffet! Never going back again that’s ridiculous. And instead of saying sorry you get a misunderstood person tell you that you pay for what you eat but all you ate was the damn noodles and rice and a few old pieces of chicken they had as strips. AND ASK MANY TIMES ABOUT IT BEING REFILLED AND GOT JUST AN “OKAY”. I wish I would have taken photos since he kept asking where it’s empty at, bring yourself around the register and you will see the empty container with damn crumbs in it
Worst chinese food I've ever had. I have never seen curry shrimp that looked like this. It was not spicy and seemed to be the wrong order. I was told I could return and they would give me some hot mustard. It was very very bland. The shrimp egg rolls were more like oil with shrimp. My first and last time there.
Hot Wok
The food is well worth the time here! You get a large delicious portion and the service is relatively fast. You can save the food for later if you feel like the portion is really large... ☺️😤👍✨
First time we tried to get takeout here they were out of everything. Decided to give them another try tonight and ordered vegetable chow mein. Got home, and their version of chow mein is buttered vegetables and rice for $10.25. When I called and asked if I received the wrong item, I was told that chow mein doesn't have noodles 🙃
China Buffet
So we stopped at the Super China Buffet in Port Allen for lunch today. After eating Caleb got a desert and after eating half of it he discovered green mold! I asked to speak to a manager or boss and was told neither was there nor did she know when they would be there. Then I asked for the phone number but she didn't know that either. She kept telling us it's not their fault due to its ordered from a vendor. Didn't seem to care either until we announced it to the restaurant. So Jimmy grabbed the cake in a napkin to take with us while she proceeded to say we cant take their food!! Seriously!
You know when you come between lunch and dinner most buffets are not well kept. This one is not normal, everything is fresh. Their recipes are a little different, which means they must make some of their sauces. However, the one thing they do better than any buffet in a long time is the hot and sour soup... My favorite, and this one is probably the best tasting for 3 states.
Happy Wok Restaurant
So they remodeled, and vamped up the menu. I went from one star to four stars! My absolute new favorite dish is the tofu and broccoli. I could live in it. Lots to the portion, it's like lunch and dinner in one. I'm very happy with the outcome. I've ordered this about 5 times now in the past 4 months. Thank you for getting a better idea of how a place should be ran. I also ADORE the waitress. Very professional. Previously my review went as: I ordered vegetable fried rice, cream cheese wontons and pot stickers. The wontons were fried twice. The insides were more yellow color than white. The outside was soft not crunchy almost dough like. Super oily. The fried rice was lacking flavor. It looked as if they only added soy sauce and called it a day. The pot stickers literally had oil oozing out of them. It was the worst.. Rated one star
Food is good, consistent, and generous. Service is good and friendly.a favorite of ours at least every two weeks.
China Taste
Haven't been here in about a year. Decided to stop by today and the shrimp fried rice was the worst that I've ever had in any city. I forced myself to eat it because I didn't want to be wasteful, but it even leaves a very nasty after taste. Not sure if they have new owners or a new cook but their food has never been this bad before. Extremely disappointed.
THE best Chinese on Jefferson highway! always on time with my pickups and always deliver on flavor! be sure to try the spicy chili garlic oil! so good!
Lin Garden
Wow, the food here is absolutely fantastic!! The egg rolls especially, some of the best I've ever had!
Food was good, staff was nice, however they don’t help you much with the menu I ordered something that was on the lunch special and the guy charged me like a normal plate which was more expensive and less food than lunch special. The egg rolls are kind of small as well. The area is super ghetto as I was ordering food, a begger walked in to ask me for money so yeah if you’re not used to neighborhoods like that, wouldn’t recommend you to go.
