King's Wok
If I could leave a 0 I would. The sweet and sour sauce has random specks in it. The chicken looks like it’s been cooked in months old oil and the actual SO CALLED CHICKEN is PINK AND STRINGY! I don’t even want to waste my time calling because I don’t want a thing from em but to be closed the HECK DOWN!!!
First time trying this place. The crab rangoon and egg rolls were excellent! The shrimp egg foo yung was great. The spare ribs were good, but could use additional sauce. The orange chicken was ok. The shrimp fried rice was very bland, containing only rice and onion. The teriyaki chicken was strange: the sauce was dried and crunchy, and the chicken was very stringy. It tasted ok, just very different from my perception of teriyaki chicken. The service was quick and the staff were courteous. Next time, we will try other dishes.
Hong Kong Kitchen Chinese Restaurant
This is my go-to Chinese place and I adore them. I’ve never had a bad experience and I order take out frequently. Everything is always really good. They are fast and affordable. I do recommend them and I honestly don’t understand any of the negative reviews.
I've always liked it here. This was the first time in a long time. Only because I lived in Florida for 10 years. The food was not as good as it once was. But it was still pretty good. I'd go again. Probably will soon. I did order the lunch general tso chicken platter. It did not come with an egg roll. I was surprised. Egg rolls are my fav. I was already driving away before I noticed. So I can't say what the quality is for them.
New China Dragon
If you left a bad review for this place, you probably microwave your rice. This is exactly what good Chinese takeout should be—flavorful, filling, and made fresh. Yes, you might wait a little—it’s because they’re actually busy doing things right in a real kitchen, not some reheated chain nonsense. Super well-run operation
Amazing spot for cheap classic Chinese takeout. Super efficient and nice despite being very busy. Food is fantastic for the price and portions are generous. They even threw in a free orange chicken last time I ordered. Love these guys.
Hong Kong King Buffet
I will definitely NOT be returning here. First problem that didnt make since was that you gotta pay before u eat. Most of the food bar looked like it had been sitting there for a few hrs. Rice was dry and hard, chicken cuts were not fully done, NO CRAB LEGS (false advertising) but there were some small dry looking crabs, and some other foods were cold. If it wasnt for my mother saying she was HUNGRY i was leaving this place. Also the staff was not very inviting. Sometimes you can feel the vibe and there definitely wasnt one here. CHOOSE ANOTHER BUFFET.
They come up to you when you are serving your food to tell you that you have to pay extra, and they demand more tip when it has already been paid at the entrance. They especially approach the Hispanic community when clients do not know the language. If u come here check out ur receipt don't get scammed.
Great Wall
Ordered shrimp lomein and orange chicken, halfway through my dinner I pulled a piece of metal scrubber out of my throat, I almost swallowed it! I would hate to know what would have happened if I had accidentally eaten it... It literally could have either caused serious bodily harm or worse. This is ridiculous. Informed the owner who blew me off and ended up offering a $5 credit for something that could have literally killed me. $29 bill...
Good food. Has all the typical take out chinese food. All cooked well and fresh. Buffet is no longer running tho.
Good Taste
Another classic Chinese takeout near the VCU campus. I got a combination General Tso Chicken and friend dumplings. For these smaller Chinese takeouts, the combination orders ~$10 are usually the main order if you want a filling food for a dinner or lunch. As someone biased to mediocre Chinese takeout, this does hit the spot without being too expensive and supporting a family-owned business.
This place has AMAZING food. Probably the best in Lynchburg. But, if I am the ONLY PERSON IN THE RESTAURANT, I should not have to wait 5 minutes before being greeted and taken care of.

Lin's Garden
My first and last time ordering at Lin's Garden... Ordered by Door Dash, which as usual did their job. Lin's did not. I requested fried rice with my entrees, but I received white rice. Although, I cant see that I was charged for the Fried Rice. Egg drop is great just needed a bit of salt, Sweet and Sour Chicken is heavily breaded w/little pieces of chicken, however you do get alot so its basically Sweet and Sour fried dough. Cashew Chicken, well let's just say I hope you like celery, bc that is all ya get with a few cashews as a garnish. We should have heeded the review on the Spring Rolls, no flavor, or filling. Also ordered the General Tso's, but my son hasn't eaten yet.... cant rate that entree. $70.00 and very disappointed.
I found a staple in my fried rice. The rice was mushy, not fresh! This wasn’t my first time ordering from here but it will definitely be my last. So disappointed ☹️
