Mapo Restaurant
Really high quality food and the portions were massive. I was so surprised and the service was fast! Staff was nice and came to check up on us often.
We ordered sesame chicken and general tso's chicken, hot tea, and sweet and sour soup. The chicken was perfectly fried - the crunch was PERFECT. Sauces here are on point. The duck sauce had a sweet orange flavor, and the tea had a slight herbal flavor. The kimchi was delicious! Slightly spicy with a hint of sweet, and a great crunch. We will definitely be back! Pictured is the spring roll, kimchi, and general tso's chicken.
On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina
For those who love Tex-Mex or want to enjoy live guacamole, this is a great place. It's casual and offers Mexican flavors. The food was decent, the ambiance was just okay, and the service was relatively slow. Normally, the chips and salsa served at the beginning aren't very savory, but we found them, especially the chips, quite appetizing. It's a good way to pass the time while waiting for the food, especially when paired with fresh salsa and chips along with draft beer. The food was a bit slow to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait. Whether we ordered the border bowl, grande taco salad, or the quesadilla and fries combo from the kids' menu, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Finally, the brownie sundae was the perfect way to end the meal!
Have liked this place for a long time but don't go very often. I appreciate that the chips are nice and hot. The service was great, although there were only a couple other tables since we were there at 2:30 pm. I enjoyed the margarita flight. I was surprised to like the strawberry. I was expecting it to be overly sweet but it was not.
Biryani Pot
Chicken tandoori was mostly uncooked. On calling to explain the problem, we were told some people prefer partially cooked chicken (isn't uncooked chicken a health hazard?). They would not refund. Only willing to put a credit on my name for next time. No plans of ever going there again.
I recently visited Biryani Pot in Gurnee Mills and had a mixed experience. The ambiance was pleasant, but the food left something to be desired. I ordered the Chicken Biryani, and while it was good, it didn’t live up to my expectations, especially given the restaurant’s biryani-themed name. There is definitely room for improvement in the flavor and overall preparation. The second dish I ordered was the Mutton Curry, which was quite disappointing. It was overly oily, and some of the goat meat had very little meat on the bones. This made the dish less enjoyable and not up to the standard I was hoping for. While there were some positives, I think there’s significant potential for improvement, particularly with the dishes that are supposed to be their specialties. I hope to see better quality in the future.
Wu's House Naperville
This place was beautiful. We went for New Year's and were waited by Jacky. He was incredibly nice and looked very happy to be helping us. He was apart of the reason why the experience was great. The atmosphere was incredible. It was very unique and unlike anything I've been to before. It was a huge open area, with many different spots to sit at. Very pretty and atmospheric. The food was incredible. It wasn't cheap, probably 20-60 dollars a person depending on the meal and whether or not you get hibachi. The drinks were incredibly refreshing, I would recommend the Passion fruit or Mango tea. The sushi rolls, although expensive, are very filling (unlike most sushi rolls) and we're incredibly well prepared and made. The Happy roll was amazing, the mix with the flavors of the mango and shrimp as well as the sauce on top was incredible. I would recommend this place for any special occasion. It has a wide variety of food and offers many different choices of fish and meats. The atmosphere was incredible, and the hibachi was a very unique experience that you can't get from any other grills I've been to.
The ambiance at this restaurant is amazing— it's a beautiful place. However, I found the food to be a mixed bag. Some dishes, like the tempura, were quite bland and lacked a bit of salt, while others, like certain sushi rolls, had overly heavy sauces that masked the flavor of the fish. The Kani Salad was delicious, though! Their milk tea was great, too. I ordered the taro milk tea and it was really nice.
MingHin Cuisine
If you live in the area of Naperville, there is no need to hike to Chicago for excellent Hong Kong cuisine and Dim Sum. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating and it beautifully decorated. The servers were quick and friendly. The food is authentic and with many good flavors. Next time I shall take pictures of the food.
Ming Hin is great. We go all the time and have had good experiences in Chicago on Archer and here in Naperville. It's a great place for groups or date night. A single dinner entree and a couple of dim sum offerings covers dinner for two nicely. Favorites include Mongolian beef w/ extra veggies, su Mai, crispy pork belly, and their egg rolls are really good. Service is usually quick even when you order a bunch of stuff and staff is attentive. Tables and dining area was nice and clean 👍 Ming Hin is on my list of favorites for taste and value combined.
Xi’an Cuisine
This Xi’an cuisine is much better than the ones on downtown area. The food is authentic. We ordered lamb skewers which is super tender. The cold chicken dish is perfect in flavor, it has a little bit sour and spicy taste in it. The Bianbian noodle is the best of all dishes, it has three different sauce in it, one is tomato eggs, one is minced meat and another is stewed beef, with hand made thick noodles, it is just perfect combination.
This place is always great, especially if you love spicy. Their main menu and specials are really good, but they also have lunch specials if you’re looking for some more standard American Chinese food. Their mapo tofu fish is always a highlight!
New Wok
My family has been eating here for years. My favorite place to order from for a night in. I was so scared they were shutting down for good after Covid but I am happy to see them back. Food is incredible and I even buy the sweet and sour sauce by the jar. Always recommend :)
This place has the best Chinese food but they still don't have delivery drivers. You can only order online through their website and it doesn't give the option to add extra sweet and sour sauce or write anything in. You can't call and ask to add it since they use doordash drivers to deliver. They need to add sweet and sour sauce to their menu and it will be perfect!
House of Emperor
Our server, Amy, was so gracious. We love the soup, in the winter-time especially. Today we tried the pepper and salt fish. They use Sole and it’s an indulgent treat.
Haven't been in a while because I don't live around the area but every year for New Year's Eve my family would go there for dinner and then drive around town looking at all the Christmas lights. House of emperor was always wonderful, excellent food, we loved the fish tanks and looking at the lobsters. Very family friendly, I always had a nice Shirley Temple. If I remember correctly you could draw on the paper tablecloth, The placemats had the Chinese zodiac on it, but they also had fabric napkins. Would also be good for a date night. Good to see they're still in business
Joy Yee
the service was out of this world the worse service i had. our waiter was on their phone watching tiktoks on full volume infront of guests and eating infront of us ontop of that. not only that the noodles tasted like they were cooked in old water and there was something off. i decided to not tip and the waiter confronts me on why i didn’t tip, clearly he didn’t deserve one, yet he argues with me saying it’s an excuse. never coming again and neither should you
The food was amazing. I got the stone bowl pork and shrimp fried rice with egg and it gave me all kinds of good mouth feels. It was delicious! Their boba is also to die for. If you go, make sure to get some of their boba. Their service was also great. The staff was attentive and nice. The area around it seemed a little desolate, but it was a great experience inside. It is a little bit on the pricey side, with around 18 dollars for my fried rice, but the portion was huge, and the stone bowl it was served in was still hot when I got it. A good restaurant if you have a little bit of extra money to spend
China Kitchen
I really wanted honey walnut shrimp so decided to make a stop here and wasn't disappointed! Everyone was friendly and the presentation of the food was beautiful!! The place is more for "to go" orders they have 2 tables but we decided to eat there 💗
I ordered the salt & pepper shrimp and had to throw the whole order away. The shrimp looked old and disgusting. I typically order from the Joliet location but went through Uber eats and it selected the Naperville location instead. The egg rolls were soggy and salty as well.
BIBIBOP Asian Grill
Went on a Wednesday night but it still was crazy busy - line out the door. This place is still fairly new so that’s understandable. Tip: Get the small bowl. It’s more than enough for a meal. Original size will be too big. Surprisingly most people were taking it to go and only a few sat in the restaurant and ate even though their seating area is pretty appealing including tables for large parties and nice private booths. Tasty and fresh food. I would recommend going with à la cart and getting the original bowl with lots of vegetable toppings and your choice of meat. Basically the same concept as Chipotle. The sauces I would recommend are: Yum Yum and Gochujang. They are even better when you get them both together on your dish. A bonus surprise you’ll find at this place: Free miso soup. They have a container of the soup sitting by the drinks with the sign saying that it’s complementary. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and our time there - since we did take advantage of the seating at one of the private booths 😊. You will enjoy as well for sure. Try it 👍
First time here. BiBiBop just recently opened in our area. Went in and the place was spotless, a big plus! The gal behind the counter explained everything to me and then I built my bowl. I ordered a small bowl and that was still huge. Everything was delicious and I plan on bringing my daughter back for meatless Mondays. This could easily end up being one of my favorite eats.
Yen Ching Chinese Restaurant
We get takeaway from Yen Ching ALL THE TIME, it’s our favorite Chinese restaurant!! Portion sizes are great & we usually have enough for two meals! The Salt & Pepper Eggplant is DELICIOUS, if you haven’t tried it, give it a shot!
The restaurant is quaint. Hole in the wall cute. Highly recommend. Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in the area. Very fresh, great veggies, lots of bok choy, which I absolutely love and the smoothies were top-notch. I wish I had a photo, but I ate it too fast and forgot to take one. It was amazing. Again, highly recommend!
