The straws were badly bent on the kids' drinks. Otherwise, everything at Carol's was straight-up wonderful. We were greeted by a smiling face as we entered, and seated at a comfortable booth. The kids' menu has some cute activities on one side, and an extensive menu on the other; my little one opted for silver dollar pancakes and a sausage patty, along with an apple juice (the latter of which came with that straw that was bent in no time). The regular menu is extensive, but it took no time for my not-so-little one to pick a Belgian waffle with strawberries, which was offered with whipped cream upon ordering, to which a jubilant yes rang out. Luckily the silver dollar plate also arrived with a bowl of whipped cream, so no one felt left out (nice touch!). I ordered the spinach crepes, which were wonderful, and came with shredded hash browns just like I like them. After much eating and coffee consumption, we decided to commemorate our meal, and asked the same employee who greeted us with a smile to take a photo of us, which he kindly obliged. I didn't include those photos, so unfortunately I'm only posting pics of those wacky straws, mainly in hopes of getting a funny reply from the owner. 😆

Asked for Fresh Crispy Bacon. Not Reheated!!! Waitress asked if I don't mind waiting, I said No, I don't mind. She came out minutes later, with Reheated Bacon. She stated the Cook told her to take it, that it was Fresh. Even though she knew, confidentiality, it was Reheated. She didn't want to get into an Argument with the cook, so she brought it out to the table. She didn't want to Argue with the Cook. The OWNER said it was cooked just over an hour ago and was Fresh. The Waitress has a job to do but can't do it to her BEST ability, but can't, because of a LAZY COOK and a CHEAP OWNER. It's a Shame. Been going there since it was a Golden Bear, over 50 years!!! This was my 3rd problem there in less than 6 months. Things are different these days, Covid-19 certainly didn't make things better, but for My $14.99, plus tax and tip. It's definitely time to find a different place for Me. P.S. I have over 40years in the Restaurant & Hotel Industry. Normally for me, the little guy is my choice, unfortunately today, it was a Bad One.

Terrible customer service. Stood there for almost 10 min with no acknowledgement of me being there because they were filling a couple online orders. Understandable that those need to be caught up on but both employees didn’t need to be working on those especially when I was the only one in line smh. And this was 2:00p, not even a lunch rush.

Came in-store to get something to eat, when i go inside there’s no greeting just hard stares at you from employees. The girl who made my sandwich seemed weird and awkward. I could tell she didn’t wanna be there and do her job by the way she was constantly having a bad expression, i could barely hear her when her asking what kind of bread or chicken i wanted. As soon as she charged me for my order she never said at least “have a good day” just a blank stare. As soon as i got home my whole sandwich toppings fell out
Overall poor customer service no acknowledgment at all and not a friendly service.

We didn’t make reservations and there were plenty of open tables but still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated (I think the young hostess lacked experience). We had the mussels, they were tasty but had 2 fishy tasting mussels (not bad for a whole plate). The waiter forgot that we ordered drinks and had to ask him about the drinks 10 minutes later. The short rib is tender and the halibut (fresh catch special) was very good.

You guys! This place was INCREDIBLE! I've heard rumors that it was worth a try, but we were blown away! First, the atmosphere, both inside and out of this place is so cool! Built in 1913, the building has such a vibe to it! Sitting outside felt like we were taken back in time. Don't be surprised by the trains going by (they are loud), if you do sit outside, it's still so worth it. Now the food? Oh man...I can't say enough about the food! Fantastic presentation, perfect portions, and worth the prices. We had the short rib and the duck, SO, so, good! Lastly, the service is great! Kim was our server and she was a pleasure to chat with about the history of the restaurant, bourbon, you name it! I love that we finally able to check this place out. Even better when celebrating something! If you're looking for a new place to go and want to try something great, this is the place! Bring the kids, take the girls, or even better, bring a date! We will be back!

Authentic! Delicious! Great little spot for grabbing a meal out. It’s not expensive or fancy, but it is LOVELY and feels spacious inside with high ceilings. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good Indian food or just to try something different. I had the vegetable samosas, garlic naan bread and chicken korma. Good for someone who doesn’t like a lot of spice/heat.

Tried their Tandoori prawns and Beef fry to be honest one of the best beef fry and apollo fish is perfectly cooked fully loaded with flavors amazing experience with everything. Yeah little bit expensive but worth trying it

The experience was pk. They ran out of 3 of the popular soup choices. I tried the Sante fe chkin and veg soups. I liked them. I tried the Cuban sandwich. It was very salty. I didn't finish it. Customer service was very good.. I read many of the reviews. Pay attention to the common theme .....

Clean establishment, wonderful staff, and great food! We arrived 8 minutes before closing and the staff were super friendly; did not make us feel rushed at all. They allowed us to sample the soups and took the time to provide soup combination suggestions with explanations of soup flavor profiles. Friendly and professional
not at all pretentious. I’m so glad to have this near home! Thank you đŸ„°

Ordered Pad See Ew, Thai basil, Tom Yum, and Crying Tiger. The food was flavorful, but the portions were small for the price point. Owner (who brought out the food was nice though).

I've been eating here for years and I recommend it to everyone! Everything I've tried here is amazing, especially the Tom Yum Soup with Chicken and the Pad See Ew Noodles (see pic). They make it exactly how you want from not spicy to your mouth is on fire spicy! Definitely a must try!

Went here for a birthday dinner with family- got seated quickly as always. Gobi 65 dish was great, cauliflower was crispy and well seasoned. Dosas are fresh made & pair well with chutneys. The chole bhatura was impressive looking, but needed more chole in comparison to amount of bhatura. Paneer butter masala was good in taste as well, spiced well, just took 30+ minutes to arrive as multiple similar orders had been placed. Tomato soup was average. Overall service was quick apart for one dish, food was great. It’s rare to find a restaurant that does so many varieties so well, definitely a strong suit for A2B. Be prepared for fast good quality food, but also slightly on the more expensive side.

Of all the A2B branches we have been to across the U.S. this one by far lived up to the franchise’s standards the most. We had a great experience and devoured the ghee podi dosa with their wide variety of chutneys and more than anything their kuzhambu (sambar) was so flavorsome and authentic to our Tamil cuisine. We also tried their mushroom pepper fries and were pleasantly surprised to witness such a different flavor when most restaurants just go heavy on the ketchup-based sauces when they say Indo-Chinese dishes. If there was one thing that we would like for them to switch up is their Chota Samosas. We were hoping it would be the onion filled Chota Samosas that most people from Andhra and South Indian can relate to, but unfortunately it was just the same potato filling but made smaller. So definitely some room for improvement with those. But even though they didn’t hit the spot for nostalgia, they were still tasty. Overall great food with great service by the staff, Mufti in particular was very kind and made sure to fulfill all our requests with our unlimited supply for chutney haha 😄 Definitely a must try if you’re in and around Chicago and are craving a good South Indian food experience.

Oh wow talk about flavor! This local family owned restaurant makes some amazing traditional dishes. Perfect for a quick bite or for something fast and casual. The location is perfect, just minutes away from the highway exit and in a quiet little plaza. Let’s talk about the food though. The meats are amazing. Chicken, beef, lamb. All absolutely delicious. Juicy, cooked perfectly with the flame and taste filled with flavor and spices. The lentil soup is great and fresh and lemony. This place is as authentic as a fast food Middle Eastern restaurant can be, and you’re seriously missing out if you don’t swing by here!

Had the chicken shawarma Q and it was delicious. Tasted almost exactly like the shawarma I would get in Kuwait. Service was quick and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.

This place needs more staff they always take forever to take your order and sometimes lady doesn’t notice customers, theres only one person cooking and its not enough for demand, the food is good but if you in a rush just know that if theres more than 3 customers you might take 45 minutes to get your order.

Called the restaurant number and ordered some rice. Informed if they could have it ready by 12 since last time I waited 15 mts. A man answered and transferred me to deli. A woman answered taking the order and confirming the order. I'm pretty sure it's the lady up front because I've been here a few times. I went to pick up my order and she said no order. Called the man back who even knew the order and said he would inform her. Barbaric service and rude waitress. Never coming here again Ordered myself some good old BK

I came with my class, it was busy but they served the food quickly. The lunch special came with a variety of delicious and juicy meat, and plenty of rice and fresh veggies in the salad. Their fries are the perfect combination of crisp outside and soft, fluffy inside. The Sweet Dream smoothie was very good, I could taste the fresh fruit clearly and it was refreshing! The staff are kind as well, I recommend this restaurant for everyone :)

We were a group of five and accidentally ordered a half tray combination from the catering menu. However, the owner overheard us and kindly served the same delicious dishes for dining, which was a wonderful surprise. The steak, chicken, and hummus were all exceptional, and the service was top notch in a lovely, relaxed ambiance. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning for more fantastic food and service!

We ordered the chicken fajita pizza with white sauce, and it was very tasty and filling. We called in advance for pickup and they had it ready earlier than expected. We also tried their fries, and they weren't bad.

This was a fantastic find. Most importantly to me- The service was impeccable. This family owned shop makes you feel like a family friend. They smiled easily and genuinely want each visitor to feel welcome. Interesting note- This shop is halal and does not serve pork products, but don't let that stop you. My go-to order includes sausage, so I was curious how it would be. Obviously, seasoned beef does not taste the same as sausage, but they are generous with their toppings and the beef sausage was pretty solid. They also have beef pepperoni. The four states test: 1Fresh- Really good. Great cheese pull. Crispy bottom and crust. You can fold across the slice but the tip doesn't buckle. 2Room temp- maintained soft chew and crisp edges. These slices will fill you up... and you'll still want to keep eating. 3Cold- Next morning pizza was thick. Moderate chew ensures it's going to help with last night's outing or the mornings workout. Not greasy. I kept thinking about heating it up and then deciding that I would just take a couple more bites. 4Microwave- I failed you on this one. I ate it all before I could test this one :) This pizza is solid. The rating stands. Enjoy!
