The Original Island Shrimp House
Really great seafood!!! Good friendly welcoming service. Small cozy dining space, more of a small diner no frills feel but not too bad didn't have to wait to be seated. More importantly the food was really good very flavorful and fresh. Had the smoked shrimp and WOW smoked to perfection and packed a powerful smoky flavor. My wife had the stuffed haddock which was yummy too. My son really enjoyed the baked clams. All in all it was a good dining experience.
This place is truly exceptional. From its customer service to its food selection and quality the soups are made from scratch and have such an amazing flavor. Crab cakes were so good along with the peal and eat shrimp. I recommend all the sauces. The baked clams have an amazing compound butter on top with quality parmigiana on top. Definitely will be a regular once or twice a week lunch/dinner spot. Shout out to Tim for the amazing soup sampler and the baked clams. You have gained a forever customer and friend!! Keep doing what you do and appreciate your passion for you business, the passion for fresh great tasting food, and your obsession to please the customer
Joy of Thai
Very fresh and authentic Thai food. Wonderful flavor and great atmosphere. Waitress was a total delight and food was reasonably priced. Highly recommended and we will be back now that we know they are there!
Delicious food. Beautiful interior. Great service. Gorgeous presentation. Not overly seasoned food, just perfect.
House of Chan
I went to this restaurant for the first time this week. It's located on Green Bay Road in downtown Wilmette. I have passed it numerous times, only because it's almost hidden among the storefronts in the area. What a find! As there are only two tables in the place, it appears that most of their business is carryout. The dining area is right out of the 1960's, but the kitchen and food prep area are spotless. It's run by a friendly couple and the food was well prepared and delicious! As good as any Cantonese restaurant that I've been to. Try it, you won't be disappointed!! 👍
An absolute gem! So unexpected. All from scratch, fresh, delicious and economical. Owners are lovely and kind. There aren’t enough places like this anymore. Keep it going Chan!
Grab A Bite BBQ(随便吃点)
After shopping at a nearby supermarket, it was time for dinner, so we searched for a barbecue restaurant nearby and came here directly. I randomly chose a restaurant and didn't expect the taste to be very good. The beef and mutton were very juicy, the chicken was tender and a little sweet, and the grilled leeks were also very fresh. The battered mutton was very special and it was my first time to eat it. I liked the grilled oysters and scallops the most, they were delicious! The dining space in the restaurant is also very large, the waitress is very cute, and the overall experience is great.
The food at this restaurant is excellent, with a great selection of flavorful dishes. Everything we tried was delicious, and the quality was impressive. The service was also very good—friendly and attentive staff made the dining experience enjoyable. However, the serving speed was a bit slow, which could be improved. If they can speed up the food preparation, it would make the experience even better. Overall, a great place for BBQ, and I’d still recommend it
Panda Express

Mr Chop Suey
This place sells rice like I was used to eating when I was little there was a place on east 79th street my mom would buy from and this place took me back to my childhood. Just a warning though. If you buy fried rice, try it out before adding soy sauce! Almost guarantee that you won't need it. It has a lot of flavor!
I've been eating & ordering from this establishment for many many years starting from about 2003. I've never had a problem with my food or the service until recently. For whatever reason they don't have the original woman who worked there answering the phones & taking the orders. She was extremely pleasant & attention oriented. They recently got a new woman to do the job of taking phone orders & she is absolutely the most rude woman I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Yesterday on December 20, 2024 I ordered $88 worth of food online. I ordered my food and in doing that I marked NO TIP I then put into the comments "Will tip in cash." I ordered the food the same as I always do Lrg seafood lo mein spicy, sm shrimp egg foo young spicy amongst other items. If you're not familiar with their process when you order online & you want to pay by card you still have to call in & provide them the card info. So, that is exactly what I did. I called in She answered the phone she didn't say anything the original woman would've said "hold" but the woman from last night didn't I was on hold for so long & didn't hear anything so I hung up & called back. Once I called back she answered again. I stated "Hi, I just placed an online order." She stated "yeah I know" I said ok well I'm calling to pay. She says "what's the card number?" I said "do you even know what I ordered?" She said "yeah what's the card number." I said "can you repeat my order back to me?" She said "I know what you ordered what's the card number?" I knew at this point I should've just canceled the order but my children wanted Chinese & my youngest is a finicky eater & it was already 730pm so I asked again "well can you repeat my order to me?" she again said " I already know what you ordered" well I paid and when I received the food yes it was all there but you can bet IT WAS PREPARED WRONG. Nothing I requested was on the food. And to top it all off I wake up this morning December 21, 2024 to find that my order total had changed and it was now $95.xx. That rude ass thief had added a $7 tip to my card even after I had noted NO TIP WILL TIP IN CASH. I did indeed tip in cash as I said I would. That woman is absolutely horrible and I will never purchase another item from the restaurant Mr Chop Suey. This was actually my 2nd encounter with this woman & the 1st time she was just as awful. Well I finally learned my lesson I will never eat here again. She is rude & a thief. She has horrible customer service skills. I can guarantee she has run many loyal customers away as she did me. I called to speak with the owner and again she answered she told me he wasn't their. After I told her how dissatisfied I was with her attitude & how she essentially stole $7 from me on top of my order being wrong, that awful woman said to me "I can give you a $7 discount the next time you order" I of course declined because I'll never eat here again but that gesture showed that she was guilty. Do not eat here because you will not be treated like a paying customer.
Panda Express
Ordered a plate with orange chicken and walnut shrimp. I got nothing but gamey orange chicken, still payed the premium price. The chow mein smelled like ammonia! Disgusting.
FRIENDLY STAFF - CLEAN - SAVORY FLAVOR - GENEROUS PORTIONS!! I visited this Crestwood IL location about a week ago, and was warmly welcomed... The young lady who waited on me was very customer friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and food prep. The vegetables were perfectly stemmed to perfection! I chose the Buffalo Chicken... Delicious and Savory, with the right amount of spice :) I appreciate the entire staff who appeared to make every customer feel like a welcomed guest. Over-All 10Star Great Service!!!
See Thru Chinese Kitchen
I've been coming here for years. Overall food is good and my go to spot, there's days where you can tell they were short on a few ingredients but 9/10 they are consistent. She definitely has the best egg foo young and kung pao chicken. FYI: Call ahead they cook to order and it's cash only. Update: Not sure what happened, but they have randomly closed. Sucks they had the best egg rolls and egg foo young.
First of all I wanted to give 0-star, but you have to give 1! I order a small 🔥 spicy fried rice, I asked for extra onion, extra bean sprouts, and extra eggs. When I got home there were No extras, but I was charged, and paid for them! I called back and told the person at the front who take all the orders, and I told her I want my money back for the extras that I did not receive. She told me next time she give them and no charge. She said she only charged 3 dollars and she remember next time she add them at no charge. I told her that there will be No next time and I want my 3 dollars back. I asked can I pickup my 3 dollars tomorrow! She said I'm very busy, I give to you next time no charge. I will never purchase anything from Chinese See Through Kitchen on 83rd and Cottage Grove again. The order had the veggies that came with it, but I paid for the extras, because I wanted them in food. Unbelievable, that she will not give me my 3 dollars back. I didn't request the money for the order that I got. Just for what I paid for and didn't Get. Please check your orders at this place before you leave. Which can be hard with this type of food, but once you leave, it's will not be made right. I called as soon as I got home and opened my order, and saw it didn't have what I had paid for. A customer came in after me, placed an order and she gave them the price the customer asked for a receipt, because they stated they always order the same thing and it has never been that high. She went back over the otder and the price was significant lower. Buyer Be Aware!
Seashell Restaurant on 79th
Horrible just sent me a surf and Turf with fried flies in it.. never again . Pissed is an understatement Edit here is receipt from uber
First and foremost, I ordered three meals a double Gyro cheeseburger They only gave me a single with 2 gyro Pieces of meat and a whole bunch of onions that I didn’t ask for Plus, my fries was burnt I ordered a nacho grande that came to me with little to no cheese and a tablespoon of meat and Buffalo wings which they cut up worse experience ever plus I live too far to be going back Flies 🤢all in the restaurant floor was nasty 🤢 shut this place down
Chu's China Bistro
Order from here at least once a month. Food is ready at specified time. Inside looks a little run down but food is always good. My kids love the beef chop suey.
I've been going to this Chinese restaurant for 10+ yrs faithfully, literally the only Chinese restaurant I like in the area, this past yr I've noticed the quality in food and service has fallen significantly, but I figured it's bc they be overwhelmed at times, they keep going up on there prices but I don't mind as long as I'm getting my money worth. The past 3 or more times I've walked into this restaurant and ordered my food and sat and waited on my food inside, my food isn't fresh like the chicken is either old or burnt, I called and spoke to the manager and she told me it's nothing she can do about it. I find that very unprofessional and so dissatisfying to hear seeing as I am a loyal customer that doesn't give them any problems, I spend good money with them on top of the fact that I tip the lady taking my order very well Everytime. Just lost a loyal customer do to bad customer service!
Number 1 Chop Suey
Order the fried shrimp lunch special. Consisted of three fried shrimp, chicken fried rice, an egg roll, and for some reason barbecued pork pieces in a sauce. The fried rice and the shrimp we're decent nothing special. The egg roll was horrible. I have no idea why it had pork with it but it did not look appetizing and the sauce kind of ruined some of the rice. Really wish they didn't put it in there. I would not go back way better food around. Especially since it was 12 bucks for the lunch special.
My family ordered over $70 worth of food which I thought was high for a family of 4 but if it's good that's OK. The problem was instead of egg rolls we got spring rolls and my 18$ large lo mein was only 2/3's full. I see they are under new management so maybe that's the issue . We never had had a problem there before. I suggest going to a different place for Chinese. There are plenty around . I for one will never be going back. they told my wife when she called that they don't have spring rolls, but if you look at the picture they are clearly spring rolls.egg rolls are not smooth .
El Coyote Mexican Restaurant
Service was quick, it was boiling inside to dine in with the heat blasting, but what I’m most disappointed in was the chicken soup. The reviews on mtg facebook said it was a must try. The rice and cilantro/onion were a good add but the soup was reheated - you could tell. Each part of the soup was at inconsistent temperature and the vegetables were cold still and had no flavor.
This was my first time here, I almost didn’t order from here bc of the reviews but I’m glad I did! These were by far the best tacos I have had in this area! The steak is actually flavorful and moist rather than bland and dry like I’ve seen in a lot of other places around here. The red and green sauce is actually full of flavor as well the prices are good and they arnt skimpy with the meat portions. If you’re curious on trying this place I would disregard the other reviews and go for it!
