Qiao Lin Hotpot - Chicago Chinatown

910reviews

The hot pot at Qiao Lin Hotpot is hands down the best I’ve had yet! The experience was so much fun, but I’d highly recommend bringing someone who’s familiar with hot pot if it’s your first time—the menu can feel a little overwhelming at first. One of the highlights for me was the sauce bar, where you can customize your own dipping sauce to match your taste—it really adds to the experience. They also had a great selection of desserts, which was a nice bonus. As for the food itself, everything was so fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the beef, shrimp, and mushrooms—they were absolute standouts. If you’re looking for a flavorful and interactive dining experience, Qiao Lin Hotpot is a must-try. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Qiao Lin Hotpot is the perfect spot for cold weather comfort! The pepper pork soup is an absolute must-try—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. Everything else we ordered was also delicious, making it a go-to place for a cozy and fulfilling meal. Highly recommend!

the best teas, and best pot stickers EVER. great price, and so delicious. pretty atmosphere and very nice employees!

Always stop here for their teas and they are so good. A bit disappointed I just stopped there for some drinks and ordered crab Rangoon and some beef sticks. The crab Rangoon barely had anything inside of them. They looked like they did but I took a bit into emptiness smh. Other than that the food is always good but a bit disappointed about the quick crab Rangoons I was looking forward too.

Overall pretty decent place with close to authentic Dongbei Cuisine if you know what to order, would try more dishes next time, highly recommend the 锅包肉/皮冻,the service and place was just ok

The food was awesome! Service was fast, they came with dishes as they were made as opposed to waiting until everything was ready. The eggplant was the best thing we ordered, soft and gushy on the inside but crispy on the outside! Lamb and carrot dumplings were lip smacking good, pork in a pancake had a slight hint of smokiness, and the duck was fatty, crispy and delicious. My only complaint was the belt fish was extremely overcooked and dry so much so it was not eaten at all. It was the most expensive dish so I was expecting more care and delicacy. I'd go back and try everything on the menu though 😅

I was looking for a tasty place to eat by myself on Christmas and walked a bit before I found this place! I was seated very quickly, and the ordering is by tablet which is great and it has pictures! The food came out quickly and the potstickers and orange chicken were delicious! I would definitely go back!!

We were celebrating a special occasion and were looking for places to eat. Since all of the places we wanted to eat at were packed, we decided to try something new. Which I’m super glad that we stumbled upon here! The servers were all so friendly and nice, making sure everything was okay for us. The food was also pretty good here too! We will definitely be coming back for the fish!

Love this place. Food is hot , fresh , delicious!! Customer service 10 stars and delivery add another 50 stars! Quick AF if you live within 2 miles. They always say food will be delivered in 45 min but 15 min later ding dong, foods here. And they swipe your card in person so no need to share your credit card 💳 over the phone. 📞 Give them a chance good people with great tasting food. Let’s not confuse great tasting with exceptional but if your in a pinch and hungry as heck then order from them.

The damn delivery guy kept my change without asking if I needed it back. Over four dollars. I'm literally across the street and he was late. Next time I'll walk over. Update I got a response from the owners. I am happy they are taking measures to keep local customers happy

Wasn’t very worth it, for $60. We got to go and we were a bit late, there were about 3 people in front of us when we got there. Friday Night. I got 3 bubble tea. 2 smoothies w tapioca, and one specialty strawberry milk. The tapioca was not cooked bad but it wasn’t perfect and squishy. The specialty one was super sweet, it was milk with strawberry jam popping bobas. I also got sweet and sour chicken with shrimp fried rice. The rice was slightly over cooked and greasy. I also got 2 orders of Crab Rangoon it comes with 5. I love Crab Rangoon and these were not the best, they had a lot of crab which others in my household appreciated, they were golden brown but still a bit under done.

It was good first time I came to this restaurant years ago about 4years good service also good food. The soup use to taste good as well not salty rice w chicken. But now the soup was salty chicken hard The Rice smell burned also very small amount of Rice 🍚 More chicken less rice. We spend 30.00 wasn't happy at all with the taste of food.

I have been wanting to try this for a while and I finally was able to. There are a few options for for food, one option for bubble tea and a few other businesses as well. I went on a weekday so most of the places were closed. I ended up getting dumplings from gourmet duck and it was delicious!!

This is a review for Gourmet Duck, the dumpling place on the back wall you may see other reviews for. These are absolutely the best dumplings and potstickers i’ve had and you can see the two ladies working really take their time and make everything fresh! If you come here please be patient, the food may take a few minutes but is well worth the wait. Each time I come to Chinatown I make sure to stop here for food. Avoid on really busy days such as lunar new year parade for example. Really great north eastern cuisine and done with care 🥟

This is one of my go-to's. I love it here. Their signature soups, especially the sour vegetable fatty beef soup, desserts, appetizers, and fried rice, are all delicious!!! Unique stuff and great space.

I went here with a couple friends, one of which is from China and was excited to try some Chinese seafood in Chicago. We had good expectations and they were satisfied. The fish seemed fresh and the broth was flavorful and spicy. My friend really loved the Dry Chilly Chicken dish we got over the fish. The dessert we tried was delicious and refreshing. My other friends who doesn’t really like fish also noted that the fish was tender and she enjoyed it. I’d say if you’re someone who doesn’t love sour food; I’d recommend trying something other than the fish. The service was good and nothing bad to note about. Our server was helpful in explaining the menu to us. Overall, a good spot in Chinatown to visit again to try some of their other authentic dishes.

When I walked in, I should have followed my first mind and walked out. Looks like a hole in the wall with poor lighting. I ordered veg. egg foo young very little veg. Also ordered the tomato pepper steak. Steak was mystery meat, bell pepper and tomato had been thrown in there with it so it was hard. Everything was Salty. No more for me.

Bad experience got home, shrimp egg fo young was overcooked, Pepper steak was tough in big chunks & so wee vegetables. Won't Patronize again, for Tne 💰💰💰 it cost me Expected Much better food Use to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in South Shore. Seems the quality of the food is Lacking in preparation & cooking . Very Disappointed ❗😑

Don't base your order from the pictures they provide. Does not look anything like the examples nor does it include everything advertised. The food was okay. Nothing special nor flavorful. Would not give it above a 3 star. Only food item that was tasty was the bone marrow soup. The servings for the other food options were large but thats because its mainly noodles. The noodles were over cooked as well so it was difficult to eat.

Tucked away into the new Chinatown of Chicago, you find the pan-Asian restaurant M with a mixed menu from China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. Great place when you can’t make up your mind, or want to mix several Asian kitchens. Food very well tasting and reasonably priced. Service limited, and atmosphere ok. But a nice place you won’t walk out hungry from. - Value for money? Yes - Worth a detour? No - Best for (occasion)? A full variety of Asian food - Would I go back? Yes
