Dim Sum House
So glad to have been recommended to this place. Dim Sum house is a tiny shop in a corner of Chinatown under the bridge, on a one way street where most people won't pass by. Yet they hold what many people love, DIM SUM! Now we can have delicious Dim Sum at home and at a fraction of the cost! 20 pork Sui Mai costs only $7.5! Now instead of one tub each, we can have 20 Sui Mai each :D
For 4 type of dim sum 20 each my bill come up to $31 and it taste damn great for the prize. Will definitely come back again to stock up more dimsum
Jook Sing
Really cool 😎 Friday night dining experience. The menu is nice and tight. Every dish is special. The burger was amazing, the popcorn chicken delectable, seasoned fries were on point. Very attentive owners and wait staff. DJ was jamming. Decor gave the eyes lots to explore. Got a to go Indonesia Internet. Definitely going back again.
Impressed by this new spot! The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, a rare experience these days. The menu felt very intentional and seems like they put a lot of effort into making something special. And that shown through the food. The egg rolls were a highlight, and the popcorn chicken was unlike the typical breaded bites. The seasoning was unique and memorable. Don't miss the egg rolls and popcorn chicken. The fried rice and lo mein noodles were also delightful. All food is shareable. Drinks were great as well. We got the slushie and the spritz. The vibrant decor was cool, with bright colors. Hoping Jook Sing thrives; it deserves to stay in the neighborhood for a long time!
Szechuan Bistro 炳哥川菜
Very recommend a Sichuan food, each kind of food taste is different, each has its own taste, the food is served quickly, the meal bowl is very delicate, send a bowl of rice. If you can't finish the meal, you can pack it. Ask the store for a free takeout box. Go ahead and try it. You'll want to eat it again
Had their 沸腾活鱼 and it was delicious! You can definitely taste the freshness of the fish filet plus the whole dish was spicy and flavorful. Do not let the location (basement of the mall) and the appearance of the store fool you, they make some delicious Szechuan dishes.
China Lamp Restaurant
I’ve been eating at this place since my babies were 6 and 8 years old, and they’re now 30 and 32. One of the best Chinese food restaurants on the Southside. I miss the dine in option but it’s fine.
I want to know why this restuarant still have there dining area closed. It's been closed off since covid. I miss eating inside with the food coming out steaming hot on a plate. This is why I don't eat here anymore. I enjoyed sitting inside eating. They literally use the dining area for storage with boxes all on the table now. What happened?
New Furama Restaurant
New Furama and Furama are my favorite go to places for dimsum. The selection is amazing, the quality great. I always leave feeling I made the best decision in dimsum. Prices are fairly reasonable too. It's a 90 minute drive one way, and well worth it.
Service is pretty good! Dim sum is pretty good and better than the broadway location
Northern Taste
This place does a lot more and take out and delivery that it does sit down. So don't let the fact that it doesn't seem like a bunch of people are in there fool you, the place is excellent! This is one of the most reasonably priced places you can get a ton of food! If you haven't had soup dumplings before you've got to! The staff is always in a good mood and ready to help! Everything I've had on the menu has been amazing! If you're looking for a simple noodle dish, or something elaborate, this place has everything! On a budget night when you're not interested in cooking but don't want to break the bank, put this on the list!
Enjoyed the food but every single dish was way too salty! Ordered the sour cabbage and pork belly, spinach with garlic and mala stir fry. Definitely need rice to tone down the salt. Don't think I will be back.
Gourmet Food
This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood for over 35 years. It's not a place for fine dine and wine. You can dine in which is self serves. They are known for ginger scallion chicken over rice, spare rib over rice, salt and pepper pork chop, and recently I have been ordering the Mongolian beef over rice.
10/10 on the food here. The crispy pork is beyond good, and I love the giant whole wings. I’ve tried a few other dishes here and nothing has disappointed. Service is always friendly and quick. The only knock on this place is the ambiance or lack there of. Not the most inviting outside or inside, but grab your food to go and you will be a happy camper. Enjoy!
Asian Cuisine Express
Best combination of asian and mexican we loved the asada tacos 5/5, al pastor 4/5, singapore noodle combination 5/5, small combination fried rice 5/5, egg rolls fresh. All ingredients were fresh, meat taste was quality especally the shrimp in the dishes clean taste. Great customer service kind people tip your servers! I will be spreading the word! Ps: I forgot my card and she ran after us outside to make sure it was returned 🤌
Came for the 1.50 al pastor taco Monday and was not disappointed. These tacos were so delicious and packed with toppings. The number of salsas they had were impressive with my favorite being the dark red one. The pickled cauliflower side dish was strangely addictive to me and I couldn't stop snacking on them. Service was extremely friendly and attentive.
Flat Top Grill
It’s a good place for those who want to customize their stir fry experience by adding your own sauces and flavors and ingredients. The inside is lovely and you are able to choose separate meat or non meat in addition to adding all the Veges and ingredients that you like. You also have an option to choose a pre listed ready made dish by the kitchen. But I would say it’s more fun to add your own stuff and sauces. The food came out cooked well and hot and the server brings it to your table once you leave your bowl and sauces at the counter. The veges in the buffet style area were not very (thus the 4 stars) fresh but the variety was good as well as the sauces. And you have to do a balancing act to put as much as you can into a small bowl. I think for the price of $17.99 per person they should give you much bigger bowls. You can add scrambled eggs or white cheese or extra bread to your dish for an extra $0.75 and they will add it for you when they cook your compilation. One piece of Roti bread comes w the $17.99 per person meal (the one you choose your own stuff). Overall a nice experience. The reason I give it 5/5 is solely because of the elevator that they have for those who are in wheelchairs or in pain (!!! Great job) but as for the food … not all the veges were fresh and the bowl you add your veges to is very small so you can’t fit much in it (so add the sauces separately in plastic containers they give you on the side) and for this it’s $17.99 which I think is a bit pricey but it does include 2 meats which they add at the end separately and it was a decent amount). So enjoy! The wait staff were very nice and sweet. The elevator is inside the restaurant as soon as you enter for about 3-4 steps, which is really fine for people who need assistance with wheelchairs, which I haven’t seen in most restaurants anywhere in the world.
The food was great. You can create your own dish with exactly what you want and they cook it on the grill. Good vegetables and very kind staff.
Dong bei Ren jia
A gem. The food never misses. So good!
Delicious mom and pop place! The egg and chive pancake and dumplings are a must try! They make it from scratch in front of you! Definitely will be back again!
Xiao Mei
An authentic Chinese food court in the heart of Chinatown If you want to enjoy the variety of Chinese food options without breaking your budget, this is a good place. There are 10-12 (depending on when you are there) food stall-type restaurants featuring dishes from all over China. There is also a barber shop and clothing store and a wonderful little snack shop that should not be missed! My friend and I had dumplings. He opted for vegetable dumplings while I went for chicken with mushroom dumplings. Both were served with a simple but wonderful garlic, chilli and black vinegar sauce. The taste was very authentic. I should note that at this, and most of the stands, there are a number of vegetarian options. There are restrooms but you must get the key from a somewhat begrudging staff member. The food court itself features some very simple metal chairs and tables but being surrounded by the food stalls makes up for the rather unsophisticated atmosphere.
Tried the pork pie. Super good! Saw it on a food show and found it here. More than made my expectations. Make sure to use plenty of the chili oil. It's mildly spicy, but the flavor it adds makes the pie perfect!
Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot
Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot in Chicago’s Chinatown offers an authentic and flavorful Sichuan hotpot experience. The broths, especially the spicy house chili and pork bone, are rich and delicious. The ingredients, like A5 wagyu beef and fresh seafood, are top-notch. The sauce bar allows for perfect customization, and the service is attentive and friendly. The lively atmosphere and beautiful decor make it a great spot for any occasion. Highly recommended for hotpot lovers!
The broth was so satisfying and bussin for those who has taste buds for spicy and mala. All the meat and veg were fresh and came in good portions. Me and my friends enjoyed the pork brain a lot at the end. We could brought the leftover soup back too. And funny part is we had to wait 30 mins and they gave us one free premium beef plate. That is for everyone who had to wait for 30 mins to get the table or something more for 1 hr awaiting time, isn’t it kinda a cool service.
