Blue Fire Restaurant
Came here for a birthday celebration and I only gave two stars because their cocktails weren’t too bad but seriously the food here is trash. I ordered the lamb chops with INSTANT mashed potatoes because that’s what they tasted like. My friends ordered the Alfredo pasta and some other type of pasta (I’ll attach photo below) which were okay as they stated. Atmosphere here is intimate and cozy but sadly the food isn’t good. I won’t be back.
I definitely recommend and will return as a customer (bring some new friends along). The ambiance and atmosphere here is so cozy. Chic yet subtle. Walking in to a fire pit, the lighting, decor, everything was well thought out to create a space that's welcoming and relaxed (nice music too!) The food was absolutely delicious! And they have an extensive beverage menu including a variety of gourmet teas! Definitely the place you want to be for a bite with friends, casual conversation, business meetings, romantic night out, it's all encompassing. You won't regret it. And a huge compliment to our host Natia, she was Amazing!
Broccoli Restaurant
Food here is amazing that it will make you keep coming back for more! I had the curry soup and it was so flavorful, I'm salivating while thinking about it :). I've had other dishes also and did not disappoint. The place is super clean and the decor is trendy. Staff is very nice and friendly.
Delicious! Very worth the prices charged. We got 5 different dishes and each were so wonderful. The portions were good too. 5 out of 5 great food. The server was accurate with our order. I normally don't have this type of food yet I would say that my soul was fed when I ate here. Sighs of satisfaction pulsed from my chest uncontrollably. Try this place. Disregard price. It's worth it.
Sushi Junki
Very good food and service. The folks here helped us on time and were nice about it too. They have an excellent hot sauce that has dried chilies steeped in oil, and is available upon request. It was the perfect thing to mix with fried rice.
While they are kinda rude when answering the phone, the food is fast, fresh, and delicious. I stopped by and tried the California sushi roll. Uploaded are the rolls with spicy mayo (HIGHLY recommend but they are extra $$) Will be coming back but I recommend asking about the daily specials before ordering for best bang for your buck.
Al's Drive In
Got here to grab a bite so it's a cash-only joint but they have an ATM on location that charges $3 to get some bread. I went with an Italian Beef w/ nacho cheese, dipped w/ hot peppers. Two chicken egg rolls and small beef fried rice. Started with egg rolls they were cool 7.2 decent flavor but just okay. Next, the beef fried rice again was alright tbh not great but mid not sure they using a wok back there cuz some was a little off with the rice 7.3. The star of the show was the Italian Beef which is a certified banger 🔥🔥🔥🔥 9.7. It was a juicy mess and loved it... the beef with nacho cheese plus peppers was delicious. Wish they put a little more beef on the sandwich but minus that it was on point. Overall the spot is an 8.5, I'll only come back for the Italian Beef and can get better Chinese food elsewhere in the city.
If you read any of the reviews for Al's Drive In online, people have a ton of nostalgia for this place. I find nostalgia for a restaurant can play a negative role for those who don't have the association, but that wasn't the case for me who only ate here for the first time today. The Chicago dog and super taco were solid but the combination fried rice was the hero for me. Never thought l'd find this kind of wok hei flavor from a Chicago Red Hots institution in Maywood, IL that would remind me so much of the fried rice I grew up with at my Chinese immigrant family's restaurant in Arizona. Honestly just throw in some bean sprouts and you'd have a 1:1 copy. I may not have the same nostalgia that a lot of the usuals have with Al's, but that familiar taste of home is so present in every bite of this fried rice. I'm immediately transported to teenage me devouring a large combination fried rice at my own family's restaurant after working a full day's 12hr shift in the summer and immediately passing out in my bed when I got home. I wish I had started coming here sooner.
New Pot Restaurant
Good experience. It was busy, but we got our order fairly quickly. The food was hot and delicious. Pot stickers were perfectly crisp, the fried rice actually had flavor. Will be back for sure.
I came here with my mom today for lunch, and we were both pleasantly surprised. We liked the cute atmosphere ,the cleanliness, and most importantly, the food!!! We got the lunch specials! It includes an appetizer/soup/main meal. It was a great price for great food!!! We will definitely be back here again soon.
MORA Oak Park
you can come in solo and sit at the bar. it’s very slow in the midday afternoon. cocktail menu is nice, although a little pricey for the location. the gyoza come from frozen and are deep fried. their most popular roll has 3 or 4 types of fish on it, and it’s tasty but could use something crunchy (like cucumber or something) to help the texture. the service staff were friendly.
My co-workers and I popped in for happy hour and we were NOT disappointed!!! The fuji apple sake, mora Mai Tai, ichimi margarita, Jazmin, and Zodiac drinks were GREAT!! Ask to have the Jazmin smoked! Took it to a whole other level. As far as happy hour bites... we ordered gyoza, lumpia, loaded fries (that yum yum sauce, OOOO WHEEEE 😋) crunchy brussels n kale. All were fabulous. We also got the wings, which were meaty, and some jasmine rice. A couple of us ordered the adobo fried rice to go... delicious and reheats well. We also got their 2 dessert offerings to round everything out. Tony, the manager, and our bartender, Caroline were phenomenal!! Make sure to check in with them and tell them the Buzz Cafe crew sent you. You will not be disappointed. We spent about $200 for 5 people. It was worth every penny and then some!!
Penny's Oak Park
I will never come back here. I was very disappointed with the food I ordered today. I got a small fried rice with added roasted pork for $13. Additionally, I ordered Pad Thai, which cost $15 without any protein. Adding chicken or tofu cost an extra $2, while beef and shrimp were an additional $3. The Pad Thai didn't taste traditional; it had too much soy sauce and included red cabbage, which I've never seen in Pad Thai before.
Do not order delivery from them. I ordered from their website and never received the food. The person who took my order was someone who told me their name was “Ann”. I told her my food was never delivered, even though I ordered from their website. She told me I had to contact Grubhub since they were the third party used for delivery. How is that my problem? Anyways, she’s clearly wasting my time bc she’s too lazy to help the customer. I call Grubhub and tell them what happened. Their rep told me that they will contact their store to tell them I want the order replaced or if I want a refund. I tell her yes, I’d love the food but I would love it now than later. She puts me on hold and tells me that she spoke to the store and told them to remake and redeliver my order. Afterwards, I call Penny’s to make sure they get the order and she told me that they couldn’t make the order until GrubHub send it to them. That makes no sense at all when I originally placed the order through PENNY’S website. I tell her at this point I need to speak with the manager. She puts me on hold for 10 minutes then hangs up. I call GrubHub and tell them I need a refund now. The GrubHub rep called Penny’s and then told me that after telling them they needed to refund me that they get hung up, too. I call Penny’s and “Ann” said they never did that. Penny’s has disgraceful and dishonest people working for them to take orders and dealing with customers. This was the worst food delivery experience I had to deal with. Then I finally got a call from Penny’s saying they have refunded my money back to my credit card, but don’t know how long it will take to process. Today my bank notified me that they never posted a refund. They only took the money out of my account. I can upload my call logs and bank details, if necessary. This location is such a joke and should not be supported.
Fong's Chinese Restaurant
I really enjoyed my basil chow fun with chicken. The price was fair for the amount of food I received. Please give them a try if you are in the area. If I travel to the region again I would go back.
Road tripping and looking for vegan food. This place has options. If you are staying by the Comfort Inn and Suites Chicago airport then take a 2minute walk over here to eat. Great food, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Betty's Bistro
Have been going to Betty's - Elmwood Park since it opened. Today my wife and I went 2:30pm to 5 pm and felt like we were treated bad. The clerk Linda? was rude and didn't offer us anything. In the past, Evelyn and all the other folks working there, were friendly and offered us drinks etc. The Lady today was awful! Made us feel like we weren't wanted in there. We've spent our fair share of $ herein the past, and today was terrible. If she's a rep of your Store's, she was an awful one. We'll take our business elsewhere. We will tell our friends who go here to avoid it and go elsewhere too.
Excellent
China Gold Restaurant
The lady working the counter was nice and the food was very good. I had shrimp egg foo yo and crab Rangoon. Everything was very fresh.
The food is delicious! And they give you a lot for the price
Leu's Oriental Chop Suey
I have been ordering from Leus for 15 years now. I realized today that I have never reviewed and wow, do they deserve it. The owners are the absolute sweetest and most gracious couple. Their selection- from their orange chicken, chicken sticks, to their sushi rolls, to my favorite staple of fried rice and egg rolls, ALL of it is unmatched. Seriously, I could eat just their egg rolls and be thrilled. I order from them every single time I am in the area. They are the only place I have no doubt whatever I try, it will be super tasty and be made with love. Sometimes waits are longer, so it’s good to order ahead — but believe me, be patient, they are worth it!!!
Was so fast, and really hit the spot!
New China Wok
The food was amazing, with a delicious taste and texture. I would gladly come here again. Service was good we got our good fast and employees were nice. The bathroom was very clean some tables were dirty but they cleaned it when we asked 10/10 recommend. By Wally IV
Ordered takeout. Dishes with sauces were soupy. Mu Shu Shrimp (which we knew was rice not pancake) was basically a stew. The sweet & sour sauce that came with the fried chicken pieces of sweet and sour chicken was very thin. Preferred using the sweet sauce from the packets that came with the egg rolls.
