Owner recommended I try their egg rolls and they were delicious! The sesame chicken was one of the best I have had in Chicago - definitely going back soon. Great spot for dine in or takeout/delivery.

Dine-in is OPEN!!! And Lane is giving it his best. Food was just as I remember it from 1993-2020: savory, delectably spicy, and delicious. Service was fantastic. There is no Chinese food like here. If Lane listens to constructive feedback and makes those legitimate tweaks that respectful low-star eaters have made, Mon Lung will be THE BEST CHINESE CUISINE RESTAURANT IN CHICAGO. They are very, very busy, so cut them some slack. They are only human like you and me. Don’t walk in here with an attitude and demanding. Running a business like he is, is tough. Imagine having to put on a smile for 300 people in and out every day. Have some compassion, but also do yourself a favor and give them another chance. You won’t be disappointed.

A nice Chinese cuisine restaurant with a modern sleek interior and great service. We went on a Friday night for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious (it took me a while to choose though - they offer an extensive menu). We had the Classic Fried rice (chicken + tofu, shrimp + tofu) which was very flavorful and not greasy. Loved their Egg rolls with peanut butter. The Tonkotsu Ramen was very well presented and tasty. We’ll be back to try their sashimi! The staff was great. Both, the host and the waiter, were pretty attentive. Highly recommend if in Wicker Park!

Good things first. The decor and the vibe was great! I started with the crab Rangoon. It was good until I bit into a huge chunk of an onion. I know it said onion but I wasn't expecting big chunks. It was gross, I had to open each one up and take out the onion. I had the Ebi tamporia. It was delicious I really liked that. I then ordered the lunch special of the general chicken. It came with white rice and an egg roll . It was good and a good value. They have Coke products. They also have a large outdoor seating area.

Stay away....crooks. I ordered take out to pick up through delivery.com. After ordering and on my way to pick up, I realized the prices were 35-40% higher than on their site and other 3rd party sites. I brought to their attention and their initial response was to blame me. After telling them I would never eat there again and surely will put up a bad review, they offered to pay back the difference. Three days later, they never did refund me so here I am. I would stay away from both these business' since they are all about screwing their clients. Also, the food is just average. I will never order again from them which is a shame since we live very close by.

Ordered take-out. Food was actually delicious, but we found a piece of metal in the eggplant dish we ordered--large and sharp enough to be dangerous if accidentally swallowed (see photo, placed next to quarter for scale). When I called the restaurant to inform someone, the response I received was "I'm not sure what we can do about that. We'll try to be more careful next time." Not a good look

Really cool 😎 Friday night dining experience. The menu is nice and tight. Every dish is special. The burger was amazing, the popcorn chicken delectable, seasoned fries were on point. Very attentive owners and wait staff. DJ was jamming. Decor gave the eyes lots to explore. Got a to go Indonesia Internet. Definitely going back again.

Impressed by this new spot! The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, a rare experience these days. The menu felt very intentional and seems like they put a lot of effort into making something special. And that shown through the food. The egg rolls were a highlight, and the popcorn chicken was unlike the typical breaded bites. The seasoning was unique and memorable. Don't miss the egg rolls and popcorn chicken. The fried rice and lo mein noodles were also delightful. All food is shareable. Drinks were great as well. We got the slushie and the spritz. The vibrant decor was cool, with bright colors. Hoping Jook Sing thrives; it deserves to stay in the neighborhood for a long time!

Great new Asian fusion spot in wicker park! Food was beautifully prepared. Everything full of flavor. Got 3 dishes - the soup dumplings, the bibomen and the ribs and liked all of them. Soup dumplings were A+. Definitely will be back

What a find! I feel like it's so hard to find new exciting places in Wicker but Bigsuda is a new hidden gem. Great food, everything is super fresh, I would recommend the steamed dumplings for sure 😋 Loved that the fried dishes were not greasy like they usually are And the atmosphere was really romantic and cozy Really recommend checking it out!

Very solid Chinese with an extensive menu. Eating in was fairly quiet, dishes were well plated and came fairly quickly. Spices were great, a good blend without going overboard though it may be a bit much if you have low spice tolerances. This location is also BYOB as well.

Chengdu Impression in Wicker Park is a standout for authentic Sichuan cuisine! From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming. The dishes are packed with bold flavors and the perfect balance of spice and depth. Highlights include their mouthwatering spicy hot pot, dim sum, tender mapo tofu, and the addictive dan dan noodles along with dry chengdu chili chicken. The spice level can be adjusted to your preference, but even the mild options deliver incredible flavor. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food arrives fresh and fast. If you’re craving true Sichuan flavors in Chicago, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommended!

Lao Peng You

Lao Peng You is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. The menu is simple but the flavors are incredibly complex. We’ve been going here since they opened but there’s a new House Noodle they debuted this summer that is a fantastic addition to the menu. Their Dan Dan and Cold Noodle are also great. You can’t go wrong with any of the dumplings, but I think Pork and Chive are the favorite in our house. If you want to dine in, make sure you don’t go during rush times. Seating is limited and this is a super hot spot since they were featured on The Bear, so you can expect a decent wait time. The positive spin on that is it’s right off Chicago Ave so there are plenty of bars you could kill time at. Pro move is just ordering it for pick up, trust me it’s still just as good at home. Definitely a must stop when you’re in Chicago!

Lao Peng You is a small family owned business in Ukrainian Village. Opened Thursday-Sunday, the shop is usually filled with people from all over the city. I have been seeing food all over socials so I decided to give it a try. My friends got the beef and onion dumplings, the beef boat noodle soup, the chicken noodle soup and the lamb and cumin bread. Our noodle soups were about $16 each which is good price, however I feel like they skimp on the protein. Especially in the chicken noodle soup. The beef noodle soup was good, although the broth was very very ginger heavy. I’m not allergic to ginger but it was somewhat giving me an allergic reaction, my whole mouth was tingling when I had it. Which was a shame because I enjoyed the dish before it started feeling too weird to eat it. The cucumber salad was amazing, and a huge portion for only $8. The chicken noodle soup was pretty good, I could see that being a great takeout meal during the winter. The dumplings were amazing, honestly the best thing I had during my visit. One thing that I really enjoyed was finding out they give their workers health insurance. I think that should be more of a common practice. I was charged $1.40 to go towards staff health insurance and honestly I wouldn’t have minded if it was $3 per transaction. I respect a business, especially a small business that respects their employees. Overall, good experience. I think i will be back, probably try something new!

Wow! The Sichuan string beans were amazing and the highlight dish. Crispy, salty, and just the right amount of spice. Plenty for two people to share. The dry chili chicken was amazing…spicy, crispy, and not oily or greasy. Noodles were hand pulled and perfectly cooked. Amazing flavors. Super friendly service. Cozy ambiance. I loved our visit. We will definitely return to further explore the menu.

They offer pretty good selection of Sichuan food. And the dishes tasted very similar or most the same with Chengdu Impression (the Lincoln Park one, Wacker Park one was not really good), and it turned out they are the same chain. The only downside is the place is a bit crowed. Will come back to try more dishes.

The food was delicious. The inside is simple sit down. When I ordered 2 lunch specials (includes a side of chicken fried rice or white rice, egg drop soup & an egg roll). So I ordered pad Thai & beef fried rice entree. Both she said were lunch specials & wonton soup. Order came with the 2 lunch specials, one wonton soup, 1 egg drop soup & 1 egg roll. The 2 sides of rice, 1 egg roll & 1 egg drop soup were missing. Now when I order I had the woman repeat the order back due to the language barrier. So when we received the order I brought the missing items to her attention. Now she stated when u order the beef fried rice u don't get a side of rice not even the white rice. Then she states that the pad Thai is not a lunch special, so no rice or egg roll. When I placed the order she stated they offer the pad thai as a special & when I had the order repeated back to me it included 2 sides of rice, 2 egg rolls & 2 egg drop soups. Now the menu clearly states that all lunch specials come with those. Bait & switch... We didn't even get napkins. The food was tasty, the service was deceiving & terrible.

The food was average. Not great. Not awful. Just average. The egg drop soup was good, and the egg roll was a little crispy, but O.K. The problem is the price for average food. Two lunch specials cost close to $30. If this was the best Chinese I've ever had, I wouldn't be so negative.
