Happiness
I had the rudest encounter as I had order my rice as usual. I get home findout it had onion green sprouts and called to get the food fixed I had no problem taking it back. I called and they are arguing about the situation in their native language. I explained that my kids won't be eating the rice as it has green sprouts and onion. I waited 6 to 8 minutes and the lady comes back to the phone screaming at me that she would do a one time exception. I told her she had no need to scream as I didn't scream at her nor was I upset of the mistake. She continued to scream and again I told her she is no one to scream at anyone regardless of point. I was very upset as I have been coming for years and never had an issue. Mistakes happen to anyone and they had no right to scream at the customer nor the customer has the right to scream. I told her she was rude and had no right to scream. After returning the food they didn't asked me if I wanted the food to be done correctly but did refunded my money back the girl was nice and asked no questionsand kept it short. I took it and left. I just hope they reflect on how they treat their customers regardless, respect goes a long way. As a former teacher I say it to students and will say it to anyone rude I encounter in life.
I decided to bring my boyfriend here for sweetest day. The reason i picked this restaurant is because this was one of our 1st location for a date years ago. ( Been dating 14 yrs now). We visit this restaurant every few months. We do enjoy the food and have had good experience. However, this day we were unable to enjoy our meal. It seems like the orange chicken is now made of dough and less meat. And one of the ladies began to spray the window with windex as we were eating. It killed the mood and we left because we couldn't eat while smelling that. I feel like my romantic gesture was destroyed by the fumes of the Windex 😔
Happy Lamb Hot Pot (Bridgeport)
This was the first time my sister and I have ever had hot pot so there’s no experience to compare it to. With that being said we absolutely loved the place. We thought all the food was so fresh and delicious. The quality of the meats were great. We ordered the premium package. I’m not exactly sure what’s included because we went with the servers recommendations (she picked all the meats for us) There was a fresh bar for all of our topping to go in the hot pot. There was also a sauce bar where you could make your own flavorful sauce. We both ordered a pineapple smoothie. We really enjoyed it. Unfortunately you can’t take any of the leftovers so we stuffed ourselves while sitting and enjoying the atmosphere and conversation. We went at 11:45am which is pretty near opening so it wasn’t crowded at all. Never felt rush and the service was top tier.
Wow, we’re there around 2 pm and the place was packed! We ordered the original marrow broth, while we waited for the broth to come to the table, we went to the buffet area to get our items (seafood, veggies, noodles and all other varieties), also we mix our own sauce for dipping our meats! My favorite was the glass noodles and the shrimp paste! Beverage was included! After a full stomach, we still had room for the sesame seed balls with red beans on the inside, the fried dough drizzle with condensed milk and the ice cream! It’s free if you go on your birthday, just need to show ID!
Min’s Noodle House 渔家重庆小面
Yum! We split the braised beef noodle soup and thought it was a very good size for us to share. The flavor was incredible! We ordered mild, since it was our first time we didn’t know how spicy it would be. But it was great. I can’t believe how flavorful it was. The noodles had a good chew, and the beef was tender. We loved it so much!
10/10 baos. I stopped in for a little snack and the preserved veggie with spicy pork was amazing!!! Super fast service, too. I have to come back to try the rest of the options.
SzeChuan Alley 成都巷子
I recently dined at Sze Chuan Alley, and it was an amazing experience! This is an authentic Sichuan restaurant, and every dish is full of genuine Sichuan flavor. The owner and his wife were incredibly friendly and even gave us some complimentary side dishes, which made us feel very welcomed. Both the service and the quality of the food were impeccable. Although I saw some reviews saying that the food here wasn’t good, I’d like to clarify that Sichuan cuisine has its unique taste, which may not be representative of all Chinese food. Having lived in Sichuan for many years, I can assure you that this is the closest to the authentic Chengdu flavor I’ve had in Chicago. If you love Sichuan cuisine, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommended!
Good, but just not good enough to come back. Each dish I tried just wasn't special. It was mediocre, everything else was sublimed. The tea was generic. The presentation was great though. Problem-1: Their table layout is horrible. You are inches away from the next table once seated. The server has a horrible time reaching you if are near the windows. Expect to be excused to make waves for the server if you are seated in the middle. Solution-1: Sit near the back, they won't change the layout because more tables = more profit since its a smaller restaurant. Problem-2: When it rains or snows later, prepare to feel very slippery due to the flooring, especially near the back when there's a lot of grease coming back and forth. Problem-2: Just be careful! Update: Just found out we got food poisoning from this restaurant.
Four Seasons Dumplings 四季饺子馆
Overall pretty decent place with close to authentic Dongbei Cuisine if you know what to order, would try more dishes next time, highly recommend the 锅包肉/皮冻,the service and place was just ok
The food was awesome! Service was fast, they came with dishes as they were made as opposed to waiting until everything was ready. The eggplant was the best thing we ordered, soft and gushy on the inside but crispy on the outside! Lamb and carrot dumplings were lip smacking good, pork in a pancake had a slight hint of smokiness, and the duck was fatty, crispy and delicious. My only complaint was the belt fish was extremely overcooked and dry so much so it was not eaten at all. It was the most expensive dish so I was expecting more care and delicacy. I'd go back and try everything on the menu though 😅
Potsticker House
Potsticker house is definitely a hidden gem. Being able to find a reasonably priced Asian restaurant is worth it. PH really has good food and the taste and seasoning really makes a person want to keep eating!
Good food, best Chinese restaurant with feel-like-home service in Chicago.
Long Tung Chinese Restaurant
I ORDERED AD WALKED IN THE FREEZING 🥶 COLD TO PICK UP MY MY SMALL COMBINATION SPICY RICE WHEN I GET HOME TO EAT I TAKE 4 SCOOPS AND I BIT DOWN ON SOMETHING VERY HARD I FEEL LIKE THIS ESTABLISHMENT NEED A FOOD AND HEALTH INSPECTOR TO COME AND SO A CHECK UP THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AS 11-12-22 NEED TO BE CLOSED DOWN OR I WILL TAKE THIS MATTER FURTHER
Not a great place to get food to be honest this does not look like orange chicken at all and it’s cold so sad because I love Chinese food😔 disappointing
