Cao's Hot Pot
Food is fresh, soup bases are super flavorful. They have a wide variety of vegetables, meat and noodles. The owners are so sweet and very accommodating & attentive!! They have a nice little selection of fresh fruit and desserts.
Excellent food in a friendly, family-like atmosphere!! The food was fresh and served with care. The broths were delicious! Awesome flavors! You can tell they take pride in their business! One of the best hot pot restaurants I’ve been to in Central Illinois!
Mid Summer Lounge
Every time I eat here I like it even more, which is saying something because I loved it the first time. The food is delicious, perfectly spiced, and prepared quickly. Definitely the best Asian spot in Green Street
Great food, very fresh, friendly service. Clean, comfy atmosphere for very small groups. Loved the roasted pork over rice, squid skewers, and dumplings. Personally, I didn't like the cold gizzards. I prefer them breaded and warm. Food was super fast!! $47 for 2 with appetizers, drinks, tip.
Golden Harbor Authentic Chinese Cuisine
Well if you want Chinese food you will definitely get it. I would not say it is the best Chinese food I’ve had… or even the most decent. Everything is self-service which is completely fine if not more streamlined (ordering, getting water, getting menus). But food is delivered by a waiter so that is good! Server was very nice and service was very quick even when busy, our food came out in less than 15 minutes (and we ordered a lot). I will say to use the ‘Americanized’ menu if you are not familiar with Chinese cuisine, then the Taiwanese menu, and lastly if you are adventurous try the attempt the read the 1000 item Authentic menu. RECOMMEND FOR BIG PARTIES: Order $120+ (pretax) for a free entree The food were all mostly meh, with a few outliers: the king mushroom dish, triple chicken dish, and the sweet pork-chop. Everything else was quite oily, lacking in salt, or flavorless. DO NOT order the wonton soup, unless you want a bowl of hot water.
decent option for authentic chinese food. felt that the dishes were a bit overpriced but they didn’t require any tip. just a $1.75/person cleaning fee, and utensils/napkins/water were all self-serve. we had the kung-pao chicken, green beans w/ bean curd paste, prawns, and beef belly w/ mala sauce. the kung-pao chicken was definitely my favorite.
Northern Cuisine
We recently visited Northern Cuisine for lunch over the weekend. Despite the crowd, the waiting time was relatively short, around 5-10 minutes, even though we hadn’t made a reservation. Once seated, we were impressed by the flavorful dishes, each bursting with rich, authentic tastes. The portions were generous, ensuring we left feeling fully satisfied. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, both in terms of taste and value.
Pricier option for Chinese food but you pay for the environment and service. Food was good but I wouldn't say it's superior to other places nearby, and all the chillies in the dish didn't provide the heat.
Kung Fu BBQ
Heard good reviews about their lunch special, but I cannot recommend it. $11 for 2 entrees with rice, and a drink. Not sure if it was an off day but the chicken tasted old/stale and the flavors weren't great either. Evo Cafe around the block is a better alternative for $2 less
Great food. We had hot pot, both spicey and regular broth. Tried beef, lamb, pork, fish, quail eggs. Many vegetables to choose from, a few of which I could not identify. The woman helping us was great since it was our first hot pot experience. She mixed up some sauce for us too, which was perfect. One price for all the veggies and protein you want. And a soda included. Delicious! The day we went it was almost 100 degrees outside. Winter would definitely be better for hot pot.
Chopstix
I love them. They work hard and get orders made quickly, even when they're super busy they're still very fast. They're open until 3AM too. This is a great spot for some quick Chinese takeout or delivery. They're good people who I will gladly give my business to. No complaints.
The delivery driver couldn’t find our location due to me just moving into a new house and getting the address number wrong and the delivery driver called me stupid and sped off and then when i opened my order which i ordered chicken lo mein i realized it was beef, which i am allergic too. So i called and told them they got my order wrong and i was allergic the lady yelled over the phone that they recorded my call and that i had ordered chicken lo mein & i said yes correct i did order chicken & you sent me beef! She proceeded to yell at me saying no you ordered beef, after just saying herself she had me on recording ordering chicken lo mein! Absolutely ridiculous and terrible customer service! I will never spend my money at this establishment again! They really could learn and thing or two about politeness & how to treat customers as well as learning how to respect their customers who are spending money there. I hope the next person has a better experience than i did myself.
China King
Ordered delivery on grubhub got Gen Tso's chicken......chicken breading was soggy, sauce was watery and lacked flavor, it's labeled as spicy but there was 0 heat, the rice was good and the crab Rangoon was good
Always great deals on their meals, dont ever get fortune cookies or eggs rolls with my orders though sadly /:
C-U La La Noodle
This Chinese restaurant exceeded all of my expectations. The food is bursting with authentic flavors and prepared to perfection with a very affordable price.l. The ingredients were fresh, and the balance of spices was just right. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall wonderful experience. If you’re looking for incredible Chinese food, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!
Just so so (一般般). The lady up front taking doesn't speak Chinese. That makes you wonder how authentic the cooks are 🤔. Ordered the cumin lamb which I've had a thousand times in China (孜然羊肉), and it's never breaded over there. That makes me wonder if it's really lamb? 🤔 Ordered the dry fries four season beans 干煸四季豆. I've had them a million times in China. This place cuts them up into 1" pieces, and they're not cooked in with the spices and chili's like they do in China. I'll sum up my review in 3 simple words: 不好吃. The pics on the wall look nice but it's not 正宗的. And for the subpar Chinese that you get, it's certainly 太贵了
Sushi Ichiban
I went here for my birthday dinner yesterday. The food was delicious and amazing. I got some sushi! Upon paying, me and my friends paid for drinks. We didn’t know we had paid for a canned drink over a bottled drink and the owner/manager was yelling at us and being aggressive that we grabbed a bottled drink (that was 20 cents more expensive) and we had offered to pay the difference and he just continued causing a scene. I’d go back for the food, 100% but the manager needs therapy. (Check his reply for a sorry excuse over pocket change and a fault ON HIM)
The tempura was good, the build and presentation of the sushi looked good, but the taste wasn't there. For some reason, this area likes to keep the fish at room temperature and it affects the texture and flavor of the fish. There were also quite a few flies, most of them babies so there is breeding happening on site or near enough to be considered the same. The gentleman at the counter was plenty nice and courteous. The ayce aspect of this restaurant is more when they want to/can not something to plan on going into the restaurant.
Moki Sushi
Absolutely worth it! They have an all you can eat for 30$ (plus 18% service tax included in the bill) and its amazing. But there is a catch you gotta finish everything you order in your sitting or they charge 1$ per piece you waste and you can't take a box. But the Sushis are really worth it.
This place was really good. We got the all you can eat sushi for three people at a very reasonable price. There is a fee if you do not eat everything, so don't order too much! It also included appetizers and desserts, making this one of the best value dinners in Chambana. The service was decent. Clearly they're still getting organized, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. No liquor license as of yet is the only major downside.
