The roasted duck and pork at this establishment are exceptional, reminiscent of authentic Chinese flavors found in Los Angeles. The customer service is outstanding, always ensuring a pleasant visit with minimal wait times. While parking in a nearby lot is convenient, the restaurant itself lacks indoor seating; however, just a short walk away, the bustling market offers ample seating amidst various shops and a vibrant atmosphere.

The well known, popular place next to Sing Cheong closed last year so we've been going here. Prices are a little higher than the one a few blocks away but it's still very good. Friendly service, right across from parking lot too. Best to eat the roast pork and duck right away so the skin is still crispy

Food was delicious, very authentic. Everything was flavorful, they didn't have salt and pepper chicken but we had asked if they could and the chef was able to whip it up for us. It was a tad bit warm in there which is why it's a 4 star but besides that, it's worth trying and that it's open till 6, since a lot of places close early in Chinatown.

Though small with only eight tables, Yong’s Kitchen, a decent family business, offers delicious cuisines in Chinatown, Honolulu. Their house special chicken with ginger and onion sauce is the most popular dish which keeps us returning - chicken, free ranch, is tender and chewy; the ginger onion sauce is aromatic and flavourful, adding an irresistible taste to the chicken.

Lam’s Kitchen – A Traditional Chinese Noodle Shop in the Heart of Honolulu’s Chinatown Lam’s Kitchen is a small, old-fashioned noodle shop nestled in the bustling Chinatown district of Honolulu. The place seats only about 30 people, so even though we came during a regular lunch hour, my family and I had to wait around 20 minutes to get a table. I ordered the fish noodle soup – the broth was clear and light, with a clean, subtle flavor. The fish was not fried but cooked directly in the soup, making the meat firm, fresh, and pleasantly mild. It’s a good choice for those who enjoy traditional, light flavors. My husband and child had the stir-fried beef rice noodles – a more memorable dish. The wide, chewy noodles were stir-fried hot with tender slices of beef, and the dish carried a distinct smoky aroma from the wok – adding a layer of depth and authenticity. Lam’s Kitchen may not offer groundbreaking cuisine, but it delivers an honest, traditional Chinese dining experience. If you have time while visiting Chinatown, it’s worth trying at least once.

We got the chow fun with choysum, fried donuts and beef and tendon look fun in soup. The soup dish was good, comforting but leaning towards too salty for us. The chow fun was lacking smokiness, overpowered by the sauce. Texture of noodle was amazing tho. The donuts were great too. Service was quick. We sat next to a larger group and had to share condiments which was a little awkward.

Update: we’ve came back for its thousand-year egg tarts, unfortunately they only serve them on the weekends. Guess we have to come back this weekend. Instead I ordered the sauerkraut & pork rice noodle (forgot that I’ve had this dish before). It’s still pretty good, except there was very little pork, unlike the last time. We also had the mushroom chicken, which was tasty, except we had to be careful with all the splinters of chicken bones. I think the owner needs to invest in a new cleaver. A typical looking traditional dim sum place. I ordered some basic dim sums to go and they were fine, but nothing special. Each dim sum is about $6. It took a little longer than expected to get my small order ready, but it wasn’t bad. Servers were very friendly.

Excellent selections of dim sum. I come here regularly. Pork hash, beef balls, “guo tie” pan fried chives dumplings are my fav. Parking at cultural plaza is a breeze. Can also park at open market. One hour is free.

Go here!! 8 dollar lunch special with char siu and roast pork, side of rice and gai lan. Food is amazing. Char siu is moist and flavorful. When you are done turn to your left to papa’s cafe and get the lilikoi and calamansi green tea - delicious.

Asked for lunch special for $8.00 that was on display window at 2:00 pm. Didn’t think I was getting the display meal but I did. How long was it sitting there not anywhere by a warmer…is this safe to EAT??? Food poisoning? Health dept should look at how they serve this !!! My fault for accepting this…should have refused it. My wife got the char sui and got fresh hot rice and bbq sitting in the warmer window. That is why they got the 1 rating for the luncheon….

The only place on the island that you can find the layered rice cake and these duck bao buns.....yummmm and let's not forget the customer service she was great handing me things left and right to try all kinds of samples. They also have platter plates so don't miss out and come and get yours in kaliki today. Much Mahalo Island Manapua 🤙🏽

Today I was craving for some local favorites and I was just happen to be in Kalihi area and remembered that the Island Manapua Factory was nearby, so I went to where my temptation was guiding me to. Yes, I got here and bought rice cake, pork hash, half moon, steamed char siu manapua, and peking duck bun with the workers recommendation. And they were all great, my craving was satisfied. Their friendly service was nice also. This place is highly recommended for everyone when you have that craving for the local goodies.

Absolutely disgusting I was really excited to try this place, as I’ve been exploring different spots in the area. Unfortunately, my experience here was a huge letdown. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, and what I received was completely unacceptable. The pork was so dry its beef jerky. It was hard to chew like it feels when you get super old nuggets. Just writing this review and thinking about it makes my stomach turn. I understand that I requested it without sauce, but even so, it shouldn’t have been served in this condition. Food prepared properly should still be moist and flavorful, with or without sauce, and this was far from it. I rarely write reviews, but I honestly feel tricked into picking this place because of its 4-star rating. I’ve never been this disappointed by a meal and truly don’t understand how what I was served made it out of the kitchen. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, and after a few bites, I just couldn’t keep eating. The pork was unbearably dry—like leather or beef jerky—and the sweet and sour sauce couldn’t even save it because it was bland and unappetizing. The entire dish was beyond gross and a huge disappointment. The house rice was the only thing that was okay, but it wasn’t enough to justify the meal. Honestly, I feel like I was robbed—I would’ve been better off buying frozen food from the grocery store. This experience was such a letdown, and I had really high hopes for this place. I'm willing giving it another shot if the restaurant makes things right, otherwise I do not recommend this place at all. This was absolutely unacceptable. The picture says it all

Au’s Garden Chinese Restaurant was 10 out of 10. The food portions are amazing and the food is even better!! Whoever is cooking at this place is doing the damn thing! Highly recommend for families or couples. The service was the best we have ever received and will be back before our trip is over!!

The prices for mini plates are very cheap, and the serving is a lot for a mini plate. 👌

We placed an order for the seaweeds soup and found this worm in the broth. They probably didn’t rinse well on the cabbages. Please pay more attention on your job.

Quick service friendly staff. Food was so dry n oily I should have got a drink . Not hot or fresh . Orange chicken was okay though. Veggies was the best thing !

One of my favorite places to go for takeout orders. Only because they have little room for dine in. My main order is the Extra large plate. So I usually always order the Extra fried rice, Honey walnut shrimp and the new Spicy honey chicken which isn't spicy at all but it beats out the orange chicken any day if you try it. And my side on the Extra large plate is an extra order of the Honey chicken in a box instead of it being put on my plate because I like to eat it later I mix it in with at home. My secret mix?💙 I've pretty much tried most that you can choose from and this is what I buy 99 percent of the time I go there for a take out for dinner. It's Soo Onolisish!!! I never buy a drink from them because it's more expensive than other places and I usually don't drink soda anymore so I buy my drink from somewhere else. I only have eaten inside once and it was because me and my bff were running around shopping in that area that day. I would love to order the family meal or a bunch or large takeout boxes but find that it is very expensive buying that way and the extra large plate is very reasonable to me. I can usually eat the large plate myself but my service dog loves the chicken also. Mahalo and Aloha

Food is good, and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately for me, it's the service. Doesn't feel welcoming, and not as much attentive to service. And then when I paid, the lady looked at the receipt where I signed and wrote tip, reading out loud as if she was checking my homework to make sure it's "good". Felt kind of rude, but I make sure to always tip 18% when dining out, MORE IF THE SERVICE IS GREAT. But it wasn't. Maybe just one of those days? My mom loves this place, I don't see why due to their "customer service" relations. I'll still eat here from time to time but it won't be often and it won't be on the corner of my head. Moreso, when it's convenient.

Golden City Restaurant in Hawaii masterfully blends authentic Cantonese flavor with island charm. Their pepper salty fried chicken wings stand out with their perfect balance of crispness and juiciness, while the seasoning is a spicy, salty delight that tingles the taste buds. The Cantonese-style fried dishes are equally impressive, showcasing traditional cooking techniques that evoke a sense of home and nostalgia. Each dish is a harmonious symphony of textures and flavors, carefully orchestrated to ensure each bite is as satisfying as the last. From their dedicated staff to the pleasing ambiance, Golden City delivers a dining experience that's an exciting journey through the culinary heritage of Canton. I highly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a memorable meal.

A classic chinese restaurant. I've only had dim sum here. There is a 10% discount on cash orders. Lots of older chinese ladies running the restaurant. Theyre not overly friendly but theyre not mean either-just direct. If you need something you have to speak up. The menu is in chinese and english. The dim sum menu also has pictures and you can point to items off the dim sum cart. I had to wait to order, wait to pay and then wait to get my food because it was so steady! Love their shrimp w/ chives! Price is comparable to other dim sum places. Parking lot is tight. I always pay cash.

Came with my friend for dim sum takeout at lunch, it seemed to be quite popular for dining with the local community, particularly kupuna. Takeout was also popular, and most know the routine so that the line goes quickly: Check out the menu with photos while you stand in line, and you can see what’s fresh out of the kitchen by glancing to the side where they keep the takeout orders. Pay for your order and wait at the side for your number to be called. The wait is worth it and despite the difficulty in getting parking during the busy lunch hour, it’s worth it. I’ll have to go again for the dining experience.
