China Taste
You’re going here for pick up (dining in reminds me of a lonely tired old Chinese restaurant in the middle of the mall strip.) So the foods decent but the soup lacks a lot of depth in the broth. ESP if you’re only eating noodles and soup you’d expect it to be decently good but I’ll skip it next time. Boneless ribs are really fatty in their choice of meat to use. I love their PFR. Someone’s doing the rice dishes justice here. I wish they would have steamed pork buns. I asked for chili oil and was looked at with disgusted distain by the woman checking me out while giving me my food. Like I broke her brain asking for something so easy. She looked at me like I was not worthy of even asking for Lai Yu. It wasn’t pleasant. Will I go back for food sure. Just expect some moods from the chick up front. Sometimes she’s cool and other times she’s busy with the phone and you’re annoying her with your presence just to order.
This is the best Chinese Food in the Brewster/ Carmel area. The owners are very friendly and nice. The prices are very economical and the food is delicious. The General Tsos is excellent.
Chinatown Restaurant
I called asking about food allergies and I was planning on ordering food from here. But the lady sighed aggressively into the phone and then hung up. They don’t take allergies seriously and they don’t deserve a 4.3 star rating.
Best chinese food outside the city. I've been going for years. Packed with flavor.
Foo Kan Chinese Restaurant
One of the best hole in the wall takeout places. Helpful staff and tasty cheap food. It is a takeout place but I ate in quickly after leaving the hospital.
I just ordered pork chow mein it was absolutely so fresh and delicious 😃highly recommend Foo Kan
Toro
I eat here every visit to Carmel. It's easily among the best Chinese food and sushi I've ever experienced in the U.S. There are not many dining options of this quality in the region. And they are open on Christmas Eve.
I’ve been a customer of Toros for many years. We’ve been very satisfied with everything. The food is really good, service is great and the atmosphere is nice. I ordered take out last night and the food was better than before! The wonton soup was amazing. The dough was very tender and the soup was tasty. The chicken and broccoli was great the sauce very tasty but not overpowering! And I can always count on the house fried rice which was amazing.
Thai Golden
Friendly service and bright, authentic flavors at this lovely Thai restaurant. It is surely the best Thai food you will find north of New York City. We had a great dinner and I would definitely come back recommended!
The best Thai food you can get in these area. Spacious with indoor and outdoor dining. Service is a breeze and the food is as authentic as you can have.
Jaipore Royal Indian Cuisine
For the past four years, Jaipore has been our go-to spot for authentic Indian cuisine, whether we’re dining in or ordering out. This family-run gem stands out not only for its warm, elegant atmosphere but also for the consistently fresh, flavorful dishes that keep us coming back twice a month, without fail. Our host, Arun, is always a highlight of our visit. His friendly demeanor and insightful suggestions help broaden our culinary horizons, introducing us to new flavors and combinations we might not have otherwise tried. Some of our tried-and-true favorites include: -Cochin Lamb Chops: These two succulent racks of lamb are perfectly cooked, with a beautiful blend of aromatic spices like coconut, ginger, and curry leaves. It's a dish we keep coming back to for its tender meat and vibrant flavor. -Sabji Saag Malai: A delightful vegetable dish featuring a spinach puree base, this dish includes eggplants, potatoes, and cauliflower. It’s the perfect side to balance out the heat from other spicier dishes. -Chicken Madras: Not on the menu but you can request it! This curry is rich and complex, with the warming flavors of curry leaves and coconut milk. It’s flavorful but not overwhelmingly spicy, making it an excellent choice for anyone who loves a well-rounded dish. -Naan: Jaipore’s naan is consistently excellent, available in a variety of flavors. my recent favorite is the cheese and coconut. - Fried Poori: A fun and delicious treat, these golden, puffy poori are like little balloons of joy, light and crisp with each bite. -Masala Dosa: This giant, crispy lentil pancake stuffed with spiced potatoes is a must-try. It’s hearty and satisfying, offering a savory flavor profile that pairs wonderfully with the chutneys served on the side. Ask for a large one! (just kidding) From the food to the service, everything at Jaipore is simply delightful. If you're craving authentic, flavorful Indian dishes, this family-run restaurant is a treasure that we can’t recommend enough.
Been coming here forever, always a lovely and delicious experience! The staff is so very friendly and, although the prices are up a bit lately the food is spectacular and 100% worth it! Edit: Beautiful new renovation and delicious food and excellent service, as always!! Here's to a happy 2025 and many many more, Jaipore!!
Tony's Golden House Chinese Take-Out Restaurant
SOOOO GOOD! I ordered the fried dumplings, shrimp fried rice, vegetable lo mein and lemon chicken. The fried dumplings were perfect and the sauce was on point. The shrimp lo mein was fresh and the lo mein and chicken were also excellent. The service was super friendly and they gave me a free lemonade.
Place has been 5 times better since new owners took over, every dish Ive ordered has been good, a little pricey but who isn’t these days ??
New Grace
We’ve ordered from here a handful of times now and this is one of the best I’ve had. It doesn’t make me feel sick after, it’s always super fresh and great quality!
Want expecting much from here other than your typical Chinese food, but we were so wrong. Prices are good for the size of the meal and you can taste the high quality ingredients. I ordered the Ramen and really expected cup of soup noodles with some pork strips. Was pleasantly surprised by what I received which is pictured. There egg roll even though was the size of a spring roll was very tasty!
Izumi Japanese Restaurant
I have only dined in once with my family. Every other occasion, we had picked our food up. The food is always good, the prices are fair and the service is nice! I have yet to eat at the Hibachi stations, but I look forward to that. The atmosphere is on the quiet side of dining. Enjoyed my time here!
Great food, fresh sushi. Highly recommend. Love the ramen too. He hot tea is really good too. Will be coming back!
George's Place
We have breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was all the church people letting out they're still rooms available the service was A little labor because of the crowd. We receded right away, food was very good. And if you get to sit in the front of the restaurant to look out over the lake. Nice view. I would go again
I really recommend The Irish Eggs Benedict it was so good that I feel it’s the best Egg Benedict ever. I came back today after 6 years and it’s still as amazing as I remember. It was a busy Sunday morning and I was shocked of how quick our food came out. Really a great experience.
Pueblo Viejo
Every time we are in the area - this is our spot. Their margaritas, chips, salsa and guacamole are consistently on point. Hubby always gets the tres amigos and is happy with portion and taste. I switch it up and am always happy with my order. Service is fast and staff is welcoming.
Surprisingly nice Mexican restaurant. Good ambience, very good service, good variety of food. You’ll love the freshly made guac at your table, the shrimp ceviche was very tasty and recommended. While the food is good, my first impression is that it wasn’t fantastic, but nonetheless, I was satisfied. The one issue I had that night is that they couldn’t make a mule. 2 of 3 where nit good at all. I had to send back. The one I kept was fine, not perfect. However, I should’ve tried the drinks they are known for. We had a nice time there. Very friendly staff and very good service. We’ll be back.
Kobu Asian Bistro
Consistently great food. Good service but wish they put noodles on the table like other Chinese restaurants. It is loud however because the chefs are banging their tools on grill during hibachi show.
This is our local go-to sushi place. We have been there many times and we will go there many more times in the future. My favorite role is the sweet potato roll. Although everything else tastes incredibly delicious.
