Kaleyard
Very bummed out with everything! Disgusting and a waste of $80 bucks. I was actually afraid keep eating it because it looks questionable in quality. I sadly had to throw it out. I was really craving Chop Suey and Egg Foo Young for New Year’s because it reminded me of my dad. We used to eat Chinese food together, and I thought it would be a nice way to honor those memories. Unfortunately, this experience was a huge letdown. The Egg Foo Young was more like scrambled eggs and a watery soy sauce and the Chop Suey barely had any vegetables—and the ones that were there were old, soggy, and brown. The brown sauce tasted like nothing more than soy sauce and salt, which wasn’t appetizing at all. To make matters worse, I found hard pieces in the food that almost broke my tooth. The spring rolls arrived soggy but were okay after baking them to crisp them up. Overall, the quality didn’t match the $80 I spent. It left me wondering if this restaurant is going out of business because the care and quality just weren’t there. Next time, I’ll stick with China Moon or Asian Kitchen in Laguna Niguel, they’ve never disappointed me. This is the Response from the owner 38 minutes ago lol We didn’t sell any house special egg foo Young today ( New Year Eve). My DoorDash says I paid for chicken egg foo young. You should be ashamed of yourself for lying. See the receipt and all the money I side on your disgusting food and customer service.
Unexpected great food, very unassuming place. They don’t serve alcohol, but we got a beer at Ambers to go and enjoyed it with our meal. They didn’t have music playing but since we were the only ones there at the time, we played our own. Hot and sour soup and Szechuan Beef were 👌👌👌
Rice Bowl Express
After a fun day at Capistrano Beach, my family and I dined at Rice Bowl Express nearby. We ordered two bowls with three items each. The pork BBQ was exceptionally tasty. The other items were great too, but the fried rice could use some improvement. Overall, a delightful experience with quick service.
Good quality! We were enthusiastic to try a new place after finding it had good reviews and was a short drive away. The food was good and the servers were nice. I enjoyed the orange chicken and the sweet and sour pork the most. The bbq pork was a tad dry and the pork chop bites were good dipped in sweet and sour sauce. Will definitely go back to try the Mongolian beef.
Peony Chinese Kitchen
Peony Chinese Kitchen is a gem! The food was flavorful, fresh, and served in generous portions. Every dish had a balanced, authentic taste that really stood out. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, making the dining experience even better. I truly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere—everything was tasteful and satisfying. I’ll definitely be coming back!
It had been about 18 months since our first visit. Have to say, ever since then, sometimes a craving for this place hits, but we live too far away to visit. BUT! This past weekend we were able to visit the Winter Sawdust Festival, so obviously we had to come back for lunch. And what a feast it was! Portions are still hearty, and the food is still a superb quality. This time we got the dumplings and egg rolls again, the chicken fried rice, the General Tao’s chicken, the Pad Thai, the House Garlic Chicken, the Black Peppered Beef, and some lovely hot tea. The Black Pepper Beef dish was my favorite again. The honey sauce on the General Tao dish was perfectly sticky sweet. All the chicken dishes were cooked perfectly. It certainly was a feast for 2 people, and we finished off the majority of everything. Service was kind and quick. Epic meal. Seating outside was cool and beachy, a perfect So Cal winter day.
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
Visited this location for a quick lunch. Location was clean and the service was friendly and quick. She was pressed with a large carry-out order, but still found the ability to serve her guest dining in. The Hot Honey was good, not great. Had a “heat” to it, but seemed to lack a real flavor profile that made my mouth happy. Plenty of sauce and a decent amount of chicken atop a mound of white rice. Not sure if I feel that the small lunch size portion and a drink are worth $14… But most food items are being price hiked during this business economic turmoil. Overall, not amazing, but not too bad, so no stars deducted. Just wasn’t wowed like I was hoping.
Food takes a little while sometimes (orderong ahead online solves that issue), but it's one of my kids favorites. They don't agree on much but they all love the food here.
Mandarin King
Food was exceptional and the owners were so incredibly friendly. While I was waiting for my takeout order there were at least 4 different people that came in the owners knew by name. Great people and great food!
Their service is really good and very kind. Foods are quite good as well. By the way, there's no desert menu.
Peking Dragon Restaurant
We came to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and we were glad we chose this spot. The interior is very nice and well-designed. They have a very extensive menu, which can accommodate anyone’s taste, and we really appreciated them having the Peking duck, which was delicious. The waiters are a bit detached. Overall, we enjoyed our visit.
March 2024 update-delightful! Wasn’t sure the new management/ownership was going to get it right, but I believe they have! A few additions to the menu, wonderful, attentive staff, good prices, huge portions, and absolutely delicious Chinese food. /// previous Review: Good food, reasonable prices, same ownership and location for 30 years 💕💕💕
The Little Kitchen Asian Cafe
Very tasty Asian food. I am typically drawn to sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice, and their versions of these dishes did not disappoint. Yum! The interior of the restaurant is very clean and nice—among the nicest that I have seen for this type of food, and the staff was very friendly. Notwithstanding the excellent dining area, because you are so close to Dana Point Harbor, I recommend getting the food to go, and go eat outside with a view. The prices reflect the impact of our beloved inflation, but they are relatively fair. Check the photos for a better understanding of the view. It’ll make the experience even better.
Our family had dinner here during our vacation to the Carlsbad, CA area and it was just a random restaurant we selected, but we are so glad we found this spot. The food at this restaurant is amazing and so delicious! The service was outstanding and we received all of our menu orders very shortly after making our selection. The portions were so large and we ended up taking enough leftovers to our hotel room that was enough for dinner the next night. The honey walnut shrimp was amazing! Also, while we eating dinner, a gentleman I believe was possibly the business owner, came by our table to check to see how our meal was. He was very kind and friendly and we let him know how much we loved the food at the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I would love to visit this restaurant more often, but unfortunately we live in Oregon. We will definitely visit again when we return on another trip to Southern California.
Long's Noodles 湘味面馆
I was shocked to find Chinese food this legit in San Clemente. The food was really really good and authentic. Somebody can really cook back there. Portions were large and pricing very reasonable. The service was friendly and efficient. I would 10/10 go back.
Authentic and good Chinese food. We had beef noodles, hot and spicy wonton and beef rolls. All were surprisingly good.the house hot sauce was good also. I'm looking forward to going back to try other dishes.
New Mandarin Garden
We had dinner here tonight after kids requested Panda Express. Lol. We told them we have much better option and boy they're glad we came here. The sweet and sour chicken is really good. I love the Beef with string beans. They're both flavorful. The guy server is nice and our food came in quick. I wish the parking situation is better but the food makes up for it.
Glad I didn't listen to some of the reviews. I was impressed by the flavor and quality of the food as well as the quantity. Being from Los Angeles where Chinese food is king, this place rates among the top 3 in my favorites. I highly recommend this place if vacationing you will not be disappointed
Hong Kong House Chinese Restaurant
Friendly staff and the food is great. Only a couple of tables for dining in so this is more of a takeout spot more than anything. Food is excellent no matter what I order. The prices are great also. They even have online ordering which is really convenient and there's no up charging like most places that have online ordering.
Tried a variety of items, and were pleasantly surprised by Everything! Doughnuts outstanding, sweet and sour sauce balanced perfectly. Sesame chicken and the house fried rice very tasty. Coconut shrimp made with coconut milk and extremely tasty. Courteous and friendly service and good food will have me returning on the regular. Large portions, good prices, and they take care of you.
Lin's Garden
Practically no chicken in my Kung Pao Chicken. It was mostly fried bread disguised as chicken. It was not spicy at all like Kung Pao should be. Our Chrispy Hot Beef was also suppose to be spicy but was actually sweet. The asians running this place need to do a better job of teaching their latino cooks how to make good Chinese food. Will not be back.
The food was plentiful and the restaurant was clean. Our server was a bit annoyed and we could see it (I suppose everyone can have an off day). Other than that I would recommend them.
Great Wall Restaurant
I love this place! I really like coming for the lunch buffet. It’s yummy and they have the best hot and sour soup around in the area.
Its a decent, small town Chinese place that has friendly staff, and large to-go portions that will easily make 2 meals. On the grand scheme of things, it's probably not the best Chinese food I have ever had, but they are way better than the competitor in town, and it is good enough to keep me from having to drive elsewhere.
