Namaste India
First time ever ordering from this restaurant and I used doordash. I ordered through doordash on a Monday night, delivered around 8:00-8:30 p.m. 1-my mango lassi was missing. I'm not sure if it was the driver that made the mistake or if it was the restaurant??? Then when I opened the bag there was no sesame sauce for the vegetable samosas, something every other Indian restaurant serves with samosas. Doordash is very expensive and when I spent the amount I spent I did not expect to get what I got. I think I have the ability to edit my review.... in the case that I'm blown away by the taste of the food. But uh we're not off to a good start.
My daughter loves Namaste India, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the lamb, goat, and chicken dishes. While the chicken and lamb were flavorful and well-prepared, I was particularly looking forward to the goat. Unfortunately, the goat dish was a letdown—mostly bones with very little meat, which made it less enjoyable than I had hoped. On a positive note, the sides complemented the main dishes nicely, adding some balance to the meal. However, the experience left me wishing for more consistency in the quality of the dishes, especially given how much I was looking forward to trying the goat. Overall, Namaste India has potential, but there's definitely room for improvement. Cheers
Prai Kitchen
Very good food. We especially loved their duck dish! We tried the spicy lemongrass soup, green curry, and spicy duck. The mango juice was good and very sweet, as expected. The Thai coffee wasn't too sweet, which was a good thing. Overall the food was good with a good price range. I look forward to coming here again.
Such a great place to eat! I’ve gone there countless times, and have also gotten takeout/door dash. Their white and green curry is the best I’ve ever had, and other friends stand by this as well. Their pad Thai lunch specials make appetizers and drinks super affordable, so be sure to take advantage when you can. I love love love Prai.
Friendly's
More a kids place salads are great not the same as used to be but ok. They charge extra for dressing tiny cups. Everything cooked frozen hard as a rock 70.00$ for three adults super melts and waffle fries and one fribble. Never again. Waited ten mins to b seated and still attitude from the waitress.
I love ordering Friendly's online. It's quick and easy. The food is always ready so quickly! Their ice cream is so good, and their prices are very fair.
Noble Japanese Steak House
Nestled in the heart of the city, this restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience that stands out from the rest. The establishment is impeccably clean, setting a welcoming tone as soon as you step inside. The service is nothing short of stellar, with servers who are not only attentive but also exude friendliness, making every guest feel valued. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Hibachi, which was not only delectable but also a source of entertainment, providing a delightful and interactive experience. Complementing the meal were the expertly crafted drinks, adding a flavorful touch to the dining experience. The presence of the manager, who actively checked in on guests, added a refreshing and personal touch, ensuring that every aspect of the visit was up to par. Overall, this restaurant is a gem for those seeking delicious food, outstanding service, and a memorable night out.
Excellent family place, we loved the service, and the way the chef treated us, we all ordered havachi! in different ways!shrimp chicken salmon, all very delicious and above all with excellent flavor. We loved the high quality. We were a group of 11, we called with a reservation within 30 minutes. Before, as soon as we arrived, they took care of us and gave us an excellent welcome since they didn't make us wait for anything.I recommend not arriving too late as it seems to get very busy.
Hen House BBQ
I really want to continue love Hen House their chicken is still very delicious after it switched owner. But ever since then the portion is not acceptable. I ordered a 2 pieces dark chicken dinner, the size of the thigh is good but the drumstick is smaller than a chicken wing. The roll is even bigger than the drumstick. I also ordered rib with 2 pieces of dark meat not pictured. The size of the thigh is much smaller than the one in the pictured one.
Since I first moved to Southington in 2004, this has been a favorite spot of mine! The cuisine is consistently delicious and expertly prepared! I adore the coleslaw, deviled eggs, and ribs. That's all I ever receive, so to be honest, I can't say much more about it. I hope to return soon and was happy to return!
Tavern on 3
Was a good experience. Brought a large work group here. Started off with appetizers, Bang Bang Shrimp, Nachos, and Fried Pickles. The shrimp and nachos were good. The pickles were overcooked. Drinks were free flowing and mostly timely. Cocktails were just right. Dinners ranged from Fish to Calamari to Burnt Ends and more. My burnt ends were a little too literal. I ate everything. They were over overcooked though. I have been here for lunch and both times were good for the most part, although Id suggest being mindful of cook time on some of the foods.
My fiancé and I came for a laid back lunch on Sunday, and were impressed to find such delicious food here! Everything was high-quality and flavorful. The steak salad was very fresh and tasty, and we absolutely loved the lemon sauce on our grilled chicken with fresh green beans. The shepherd’s pie chowder was a really unique option, and the variety on the menu is fantastic. You could come here for weeks and still have new menu items to try! We caught them during brunch, so we tried the Oreo bash pancakes which are perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The apple crumble and pretzels with dipping sauces made for great desserts too. Loved the vibe, and have to say it’s one of our new favorites in Rocky Hill!
Piolin Restaurant
I've ordered twice. Both times I was amazed with the rice. The most favorite of the order. So fresh. I gave four star because the chicken tasted like it was on the way out of circulation. It was flavorful but dry. But the second time I ordered the poor man steak with the rice and I'll stick with that from now on. The rice is phenomenal. Honestly. They should have more variety on soda though. I like Inca, but would have preferred other options available on the doordash app.
The taste was good, but some of the pieces weren't cooked properly. I needed to cook them again at home. I called and gave them the feedback, they were not too helpful.
Nina's Desi Kitchen
We spoke with one of the employees there who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The food he recommended did not disappoint. It was really great. We ate it there and the restaurant is cozy with a nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again.
If I could rate this more than 5 stars, I would. 1st of all, the mango lassi has a thick yet smooth, satisfying texture that soothes down one's throat while serving a sweet but not an overly sugary drink. I highly recommend this drink for anyone new to Nina's, but I also highly recommend getting the chicken handi alongside the mango lassi. If you're looking for chicken handi with the most tender, aromatic pieces of chicken bursting with flavor, then this place is perfect for you. 1000000+/10, would 100% go again.
Ruth's Chris Steak House
This is a high-end dining experience. The steaks cost between $60 and $100 each (though there is a 40 oz tomahawk that costs $150). You really get what you pay for though, the steaks are incredible. The steaks come "a la carte", which means nothing comes with them so you have to order sides separately. Which is a bit of a bummer considering how expensive the steaks are. The sides are expensive too, they're quite large but I wasn't wowed by them. My pictures aren't great, trust me you won't be disappointed by the quality of the steaks.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had in Connecticut. I’ve been trying to go here for at least 10 years and finally made it happen. If it’s your first time, I highly suggest doing the prix fixe menu. It’ll save you a few bucks and you’ll get to try a couple of different things. The steaks are cooked Peter Luger style: just salt and pepper on the steak, cooked, then put in a blazing hot broiler with clarified butter poured over the top. I upgraded my prix fixe steak to the boneless ribeye and was not disappointed. Sprinkled just a little salt on it and after a few cuts, all the flavors melded together and it was heavenly. The creamed spinach was sole of the best creamed spinach I’ve ever had and I don’t know if anything goes better with a steak in my opinion. For the starter, I got a seafood gumbo which was bigger than I thought it would be and pretty damn close to some of the ones I had in New Orleans. My gf got the filet prix fixe with a Caesar salad starter. I will say that the Caesar salad was the only thing I “didn’t like” but I didn’t like it because she had gotten anchovies on it. Do yourself a favor and if you do get the prix fixe, spend the extra $4 to upgrade your dessert from a small little piece of cheesecake to anything else. I got the bread pudding and it blew me away. It was almost like a Rice Krispies treats bread pudding. Absolutely astounding. I can’t wait til I go back.
Nicolas Pizza & Mexican Eatery
Went there for lunch and dinner because we were in the area both times. Such a good place. Passed it so many times the past 9 years, wish I had stopped. Burritos are huge, tacos are tasty and the empanadas are incredible. Definitely a must try if your in the area.
My experience here was not the greatest and it is sad because the food was so good. (One of the best tacos ive had) The customer service in the other hand was HORRIBLE. When you first walk in nobody greets you, they dont ask if you need anything, sit etc. The girl at the front desk is NOT a people person and honestly that could hurt a business immensely. I would never dine in again because it is soooo cold and you can tell they dont care about their customers. Hopefully they can change that and im sure their business will thrive.
SHU Express
I came here with no expectations. But the food reminded me what happiness felt like. True balance in ingredients. Texture, flavors, and the temperature were on point. If I ever find myself craving for some Chinese food, and if i’m not too far, I will come here.
I want to thank the gentleman at Shu , I went in picking up an order for a customer. The gentleman behind the counter handed me the order and asked me if I had eaten yet, I said no and he motioned me not to leave yet, he went in back and filled a plastic container with dumplings and some sauce and gave them to me. I thought that was a very nice gesture and want to acknowledge his kindness.
PolishPlate
The Polish Plate serves up pretty good Polish comfort food, and the “Heaven on a Bun” sandwich absolutely lives up to its name—pure bliss in every bite. The pierogi? Usually on point! The owners are super friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home. However, service can be a bit hit or miss if the owner isn’t the one taking orders, but the food more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit for some hearty, authentic eats!
Best Polish food up and down the east Coast. Stuffed cabbage is amazing , the taco and quesadilla are also a favorite. they have different varieties of pierogi from traditional polish pierogies to specialty pierogies like steak and cheese or apple filling.
