Imperial Buffet
Horrible food, almost threw up ngl. Also service was not good and there was a dead fish in thier little pond. Friend almost threw up as well. DO NOT GET THE MAC AND CHEESE. Someone threw up in the bathroom and the stalls were nasty. Food inspection needed. Please call food inspection moldy chicken and sushi is horrific. Buffet is not worth it if you want your food to come right back out. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
I don’t know what all the bad reviews are about..especially when looking at some of them when 3 of them are from way out of state and the only review for a CT place, is here…so being a foody, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, plus I had things to do in Berlin..so figured to go check this place out firsthand. Food…lots of chicken and then some other stuff. The Korean Chicken was delicious..the Italian chicken was a bit on the dry side..but it wasn’t so dry that it couldn’t be eaten. The pepper steak however…was cold. The rice was on the dry side..and the lo mein..that’s where the star disappeared..wasn’t edible. I mentioned it to the girl, she brought out the cook and manager and it was because the burner or warmer underneath wasn’t on. Simple mistake..it happens. There were no signs of food being in plastic as others have mentioned..there were no signs of food being recooked as you see in other restaurants. Parking…it’s in the corner of a strip mall, so there was plenty of parking. Busy? I went around 12:30 and there were prolly around 15-20 other people in the buffet; families, and casual diners. I don’t go out dinner…just because by that time, I’ve already ate at 4 places and generally stuffed. Price…this was the one that got me. People talking about how they charge and watch you eat. Lunch was 13.99 (as advertised on the door) and soda was 3.00 with free refills. They don’t give you the mug (think the size of a 28 oz soda)..instead it comes in a smaller cup (think the size of a 12 oz cup) so for lunch, after tip..it came to $21. For buffets, that’s about the normal. Would I go back again? IF I’m back out that way in Berlin again…sure, I’d make it a return visit. Overall on the 5* system, I’d give them a 3.9. They don’t hover around you as others have suggested, but they are attentive, meaning..if you need something, they’ll get it to you quick. They don’t rush you out as others have said..but again, I can’t speak on dinner service because I went for lunch.
Hong Kong Kitchen
Absolutely the best food I've had in this state for the last 40 years. The people are so so friendly and helpful and kind it's a pleasure coming here, I'll go nowhere else for Chinese food. And the place is absolutely spotless it's so clean I tell all my friends and family to go there they won't regret it and you should too.
Best Chinese food in town. You'll never be disappointed. Good portions, and variety. Delicious and always gets delivered quickly even if they say there's a long wait!!!
Applebee's Grill + Bar
We decided to do a Applebees on a date night, and yes, my honey got the Oreo shake. Our server, Tim, was amazing. The place was slammed and he didn’t miss a beat. We started with the classic combo appetizer, it was good… though the spinach dip seemed different than before. I had the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich, and my honey had the bacon cheddar chicken sandwich. Both were great, but be warned, they are huge. Like really huge. Overall, a great night.
I came here a few weeks ago with my friend. It was my first time ever going to an Applebees. It was a Saturday night so the restaurant was packed. However we waited no more than 10 minutes for a table. Our server was nice, no complaints about her. But, our utensils were dirty. It was so disgusting. Thankfully our server didn’t give us a hard time and went and got clean ones for us. We got waters for our drinks and it tasted so bad. It tasted like sink water. I’ve been to other restaurants and their water didn’t taste like that. Our food took awhile to come out since it was busy. My friend got chicken, shrimp and mushrooms and I just got a steak. My steak was alright but my friend wasn’t the biggest fan of her food. It was bland. Chain restaurants are often a hit or miss. I feel like this place is a miss. The fact that the utensils were dirty was just a huge turn off. At a restaurant you should expect the utensils to be clean. I definitely wouldn’t come here again.
Taste of China
I ordered general tso chicken on DoorDash, and the food was decent until I seen a hair in the chicken. I pulled out the long hair and the other half got stuck in the chicken🤢
This place is great. General tsos and sesame chicken are my faves here. Ribs are pretty good
Lee PO Chinese Kitchen
If you're searching for a Chinese restaurant that serves exceptional food, look no further than Lee PO Chinese Kitchen. This family-run establishment, led by a grandmother and her loved ones, offers a dining experience that feels both personal and extraordinary. The food? Simply fantastic. I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken (non-spicy), and they packed the container so generously it was practically overflowing with tender, flavorful chicken. Their Crab Rangoon was unlike any I’ve had before—richly stuffed with crab meat. The Pork Egg Rolls were thick, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. The Spring Rolls were a standout, loaded with 3-4 full-sized shrimp per roll—yes, you read that right. And the Dumplings? Massive, packed with savory, handmade filling, and clearly crafted with care. Service here is impressively quick. Despite the restaurant being busy, our order was prepared in no time without any compromise on quality. On top of all that, it’s remarkably affordable. It’s heartwarming to support a local business like Lee PO Chinese Kitchen, where the passion for great food and community shines through every dish. If you haven’t tried this spot yet, you’re missing out on one of the best Chinese meals in town! Highly recommended.
I was not able to dine-in and instead ordered takeout. My boyfriend and I ordered a boneless spare rib combo with no vegetables and a spicy chicken and broccoli combo. It was extremely good as it is my first time trying out the food and I will definitely start ordering here more often!
Fortune Chinese Restaurant
This is a whole in the wall take-out with excellent food. Excellent quality and cuts of meats and seafood. If you like spicy food, just ask them to turn up the heat for your dish. Their spicy dishes are medium spicy, not hot. The service is efficient and courteous.
I usually order from this place. This place has serious issues when it comes to customer service. Today when I called in to place an order the lady that answered the phone was very rude on the phone. However, as a human being I understand that some people won't be as positive as others or everytime they answer the phone. My husband just purchased this meal chicken wings with French fries. The chicken wings are miniature as if for a toddler. I brought the food back into the establishment and the lady at the register was extremely rude. I asked her "excuse me my husband just purchased this and the chicken wings are extremely small ". She then stated that there was nothing she can do about it some come small and others don't. I then told her I wanted a refund and she then said no, because I touched the food. I then told her she was extremely rude from answering the phone to even her customer service. She treats customers as if they are less then her. Then gentlemen in the back of the restaurant that was cooking told her just to refund me back the food. She then snatched the card out of my hand and gave me back the refund. I then told her that she was extremely rude and ignorant. She then stated she was going to call the police on me. Beware of this establishment she has a major attitude problem. I told her to be blessed and then I left.
Xian Noodle Factory
I had tried hand pulled noodles in New York for the first time. I liked them so much that I was eager to try a place here in Connecticut. I found this place and just wanted to try. Unfortunately I have to say, if you want good hand pulled noodles, stick with going to New York. I tried the chicken noodle and I was not impressed. The noodles were gummy and stuck together. The chicken pieces were flavored well, but the broth it was in was sour for some reason, and the broccoli looked like they were microwaved. The chicken dumplings were not great (I think they microwaved the food in the back) very gummy, and the crispy burger was okay. Would I go back for noodles? Definitely no. I think that if they just made the crispy beef burgers, there would be more people there. I hope that they can improve on their recipe. Inside was a bit messy, but I think because the chef was there by themselves. I hope things get better for them, CT needs more noodle places. This was just not it.
Wah Lung / Nice Restaurant
I used to frequent this restaurant when I was younger. After Covid they never fully re-opened the restaurant but decided to do take-out only. I ordered and received okay food a couple of times, but the service was not the best as wait times were longer than I was told. I ordered some food for my girlfriend and I last night, two won ton soups two egg rolls, a small pork fried rice, and an order of sweet and sour chicken. Very basic and should have been fresh and easy. The soup was pretty good, but the rest was terrible. The egg rolls were all cabbage inside and so greasy the cabbage may have been rotten (not edible), the rice and chicken were both over cooked and again not edible. We both had upset stomachs last night and diarrhea this morning. Very sad that the owner would sell such inferior food. We will never order from here again.
The food tasted like perfume. Also asked for no veggies and it was loaded with broccoli which I can’t eat so $75.00 down the drain.
Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant
Ordered chicken and broccoli and got slimey pink uncooked pieces of ‘meat’ also ordered broccoli with garlic sauce and there was almost no sauce at all on the broccoli. Everything was so bland. Called and asked about the uncooked chicken and was offered a ‘credit’ (no thank you) but when asked about the broccoli and was told I should’ve asked for extra sauce if I wanted sauce included with the broccoli. I order this dish from other places all the time and have never had to ask for extra sauce in order to sauce to be included when I literally ordered ‘broccoli with garlic sauce’. Will never order here again. See pics.
Ordered chicken and broccoli and wings. Hardly any chicken in the chicken and broccoli and wings were extremely tiny. Never again. Prices are too high to recieve this quality of food.
Great TSO
I’ve ordered a few times from them (delivery) and the food is fresh, delicious and perfectly seasoned. Last night I ordered the House chow mei fun and fried calamari and they were both so tasty. Portions are generous and there was a lot more protein and mushrooms under the noodles. I kept finding more pork, chicken and shrimp, so they are not stingy when it comes to that. They’re also accommodating to my ingredient allergy, so I can enjoy my food without fear. I’d eat from there every day if I could. (2022) Update: I’ve eaten here more times than I can count, but at some point I stopped because they must have changed the cook or something. I used to love the chow mei fun and the fried calamari (in my photos), but the last few times, I was disappointed. The food was not prepared the same, and the calamari had no veggies or lettuce. I have not eaten there in over a year because the food was extremely underwhelming the last few times I went. Very sad, this used to be one of my favorites.
This place should be ashamed of their self to have such a great store front and be wasted with rude , nasty , scary aggressive owners. I ordered WELL done chicken wings and house rice no pork for pick up and when getting their I asked there was no pork in the rice she got aggravated I apologized and when getting home I cracked open my ONE chicken wing and rest were unappetizing giant drum sticks… (we all know what I’m talking about) pink to the bone … fried. Outside but raw as can be inside . Called to let her know my concern she in English and gibberish argued she fried for 20 mins. Then I let her know I’ll bring back the food for a refund. she dissected the bag like we had sprayed Covid fluid on it only to make sure all items were there not to make right or address the concern about well done wings being RAW. Her husband (I assume) argued it was okay to eat. She BANNER me from ever back eating Chinese … i assume from there hahaha I wasn’t rude to this establishment simply wanted to give them a try and will always remember how I was treated me and will continue to share not to eat or support their nasty entitlement
China King
Ordered deliver everything we got was good and at a good price even came with a hanging calendar this is for the foodie that hesitate just do it lol
Called to order delivery. Was told the total was $21.50. I had looked at the online menu and that didn't sound right, so I looked again - total should have been $15.85, $16.85 with tax. I called back and said total they gave me was wrong, thinking it was just a math error. Instead I was told that the online menu prices were very old, and not accurate. I told them they need to take down or update the online menu, then, and cancelled my order. Will be reporting this establishment to state consumer affairs. Major rip-off.
