Yummy Yummy
I have tried several Chinese takeout spots in the area and I will always come back to Yummy Yummy. The ingredients always taste fresh and the service is always friendly. It is a delight and a rare gem. You can taste that the food is made with love.
Ordered the egg drop soup as I wasn't feeling well. Service was fast and the woman behind the counter was nice. Got the soup hone and knew something was wrong when I opened it. It was bright orange! I put my spoon in it and it was congelaed. It was so thick it was more like jello. And it taste awful. one spoonful and I threw it away. I called and they offered my money back. Worst soup ever and it's hard to screw up something that simple.
Xiang Chinese Kitchen
I absolutely love this place. I used to go a lot about 7 years ago and happened to be back in the area and it still is the best food in area.
The food was terrible, the fried rice had no flavor whatsoever and the fried chicken was horrible as well, I didn’t realize that you could get Chinese food that didn’t taste good this was the first for me. I’m not usually a critic but this food was really terrible and I’ve never seen rice quite that color.
Moon Star Chinese Kitchen
Moon Star is by far the best Chinese takeout in the Brookfield/Danbury area. Please follow @fairfieldfooddude Immediately upon entering you will notice the typical faded backlit menu seen in so many New York spots we love and enjoy. As you walk by the fish tank you are greeted with some of the most friendly service you will ever get. All the food here is prepared fresh, never frozen, and always has the perfect crisp to juiciness ratio. Compared to other Chinese spots in the area this place is not only better service and better quality, but better prices as well. Our recent order was over ten items and it was still under 80 bucks. Unfortunately they do not deliver but are always open for takeout. Trust me. Moon Star is worth the trip!
My favorite takeout place in the area. Moved away to DC a few years ago and always request it when I'm back in town - there's nothing comparable where I live! Very friendly & helpful service, fair prices, clean kitchen. My personal recommendations are any of their chicken dishes (sesame & general tsaos are the best i think) and any of their fried rice options. their lo mein is also excellent, with a good ratio of noodle and meat; you get a free egg roll with every meal (which is fine, nothing special), and a donut (which i really enjoy). I also really appreciate the size of their portions - always leftovers for the next day with anything I order. moon star gets my highest recommendation for takeout in the danbury area.
Casa Lu Mexican Restaurant
We are new to CT. Have been looking for the best restaurants in our neighborhood. Casa Lu has definitely met our expectations. It was an amazing experience. The atmosphere is beautiful. The staff is very attentive and reactive to your concerns. The food tastes great. They have the best mango mojito, I’ve ever have had. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who enjoys Mexican food. @casaluridgefield We enjoyed: ✨Appetizer- Shrimp Ceviche. ✨Drinks- Blue Hawaiian, Pina Colada, Mango Mojito. ✨Main Dishes- Chicken Fajitas, Steak burritos, Paella. ✨Dessert- Homemade Fried Ice Cream, Flan. ✨✨Everything tasted Amazing 🤩🤩
Awesome decor. They did a great job with the buildout. It’s really gorgeous. The management and entertainment are great, always coming around to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. The happy hour is great and tasty food. Recommend for sure. Nice add to the town.
New Main Moon
I’m originally from Florida. Walking in we were welcomed. Thats always a plus for me. The food was really good and ready in a timely manner. This was my first time trying yellow rice from a Chinese please but I enjoyed it.
Went for a meal to eat after a long day at work. Was looking for a simple, stomach filling place to eat for a decent price. This place was just that. The girl at the front who seems to be the daughter saw me and stood up to take my order. The food was ready in just a few minutes but they still tasted amazing. They're not world-changing, but you get what you pay for. I also had a nice conversation with the owner, making the space really comfortable. I've been to several Chinese takeout restaurants around states (I travel a lot), but this place gave me such a hearty experience I just had to rate it.
Empire of the Incas
First time trying this restaurant about a week ago. I saw all of the great reviews and was truly excited to try. Service and atmosphere was 10/10. The food was not and the only reason for 2 stars. I'm not sure if we went on an off night for the chefs, but it was not what we expected it to be. The bandeja paisa was definitely under salted. The meat was cooked all the way, but in all honesty, we weren't sure if it was possibly boiled first. The beans were not tasty, the eggs had so much oil and again under salted. The only good thing were the plantains. The lomo could have been way better if it had salt and less fries. You can't really tell from my picture, but I promise it was alot of fries. I filled up the small appetizer dish of fries I couldn't eat. I did have an empanada that I enjoyed, though. Unfortunately, I don't think I can give it a second try. There were too many things that didn't taste good. I am happy that others feel the opposite!
Stopped in for lunch on our way north. The restaurant had a few people inside and outside. Located on the Main Street of downtown it was easy to find. Beautiful mural on the back wall with other interesting art on the side walls. The food was good and filling. Service was acceptable, water could have been refilled sooner. All the portions were filling and we left full.
Housaku Asian Fusion
We ordered 3 sushi rolls. They were good. But eggrolls were burnt. And no longer free with order over certain amount. New main moon on route 25 is our go to for Chinese. Will order sushi from here but nothing else.
We ordered delivery through Seamless. My review actually changed as I thought more about it. It went from a 4 to a 5. The food was still hot long after it was delivered. I got a General Tso combination with Wonton Soup. At first I thought it was overpriced. The more I thought about it, it was a good deal because it included the soup. The pork fried rice was delicious. It had red onion and green peppers. No giant chunks of onions or bean sprouts. The General Tso was very good. Not very spicy, but lots of flavor. The chicken was cut into small fork size pieces which didn’t have to be cut. First time I’ve had it like that. I will definitely be ordering here again.
Le's Kitchen
Excellent fun in a cozy environment. We ordered the egg rolls and pho. Egg rolls were served hot and crispy, and were delicious. The pho with meatballs was excellent. Savoury broth full of flavor. They served the pho with a heaping dish of fresh vegetables, and were very generous with portion sizes. There were about 8 or 10 tables inside. Kid friendly.
Right off of 84 heading home to Boston from Atlantic City which made this location convenient. With a 4.6 rating we had to taste. We got pho special soup which was very bland. Definitely not comparable to a Vietnamese place you would find in NY or Boston. Was expecting to come here feeling like you just had a nice homemade food but it was the complete opposite. The pork rice dish was good but only BBQ option. Typically Vietnamese places would have regular pork chop as well. Overall this place is okay.
New Wok
The food was excellent! It is so hard to find a decent sit down Chinese restaurant. They are either take out only OR really fancy and expensive. Here was just right. I got General Tso chicken lunch in and it was delicious. Chicken was crispy and breaded and the sauce was excellent. Price was very reasonable. I do wish that there was a bit of soft music just to break up the silence. Service was also very good. We will be back!
Picked up soup, egg drop mixed wonton. So hot, flavorful and they make their own fried wontons for the crispy noodles for your soup, delicious.
Panda Garden
We stopped in here for takeout while on the way home. Very unassuming from the outside. The staff was friendly and the food was ready in about 10 minutes as promised. Not as expensive for combination plates as sone other places have been recently. Overall the food was good. The dumplings were amazing. I would go back just for them. I also liked how the chicken was cut into smaller pieces for the General Tso. It allows for more of the sauce to seep into the chicken. Will definitely be getting food here again.
THE BEST Chinese anywhere in the area. We have tried place after place until we hit on this one. Consistently excellent food, friendly staff, awesome portions. This is our go-to spot.
Fin Japanese Restaurant
This is THE place to get sushi! I’ve been eating here for years and have never had a bad meal. The sushi is always fresh & the staff is always kind and very accommodating. Recently I ordered take out. On the way to pickup my meal I experienced car trouble. I want able to make it by closing time. A member of the Fin team actually took the time to bring me the meal, really going above and beyond. I was blown away by the generosity shown, it really meant a lot. I am a Fin patron for life.
My all time sushi favorite in Fairfield. If I am in or near Fairfield, I am stopping in to satisfy my appetite. Absolutely love the Kimchi soup before hand. Sushi is always fresh and delicious.
Mẹcha Noodle Bar
Since my college days, Mecha has been one of my all-time favorite spots in CT. You really can’t go wrong with any of their menu items. I recently stopped in to try some of their new dishes which I was very impressed by! Creative choices like the Japanese curry poutine and curry latksa were great, and I liked the new super pho sizzle with the beef on the side more than their typical phos. Without getting cooked more in the broth, the beef stayed rare and was flavorful with the chimichurri on top. Their spicy tan tan seasonal special is always a must for me - I don’t usually like spicy food but I’m always addicted to this one! Food always arrives to the table in a timely manner. They have a good system here! In my opinion, Fairfield is the best of the Mecha locations.
They were packed tonight and a line out the door for takeout but somehow got seated immediately. The parking situation here was much better than I expected. We had the sweet and sour spare ribs, crab hand roll and ground pork egg rolls as appetizers. Simply delicious. Then for cocktails we had the Japanese Gin and lemon with lavender bitters and a Sifu Lee (best cocktail on the menu). And for the main course we had the classic 24-hour ramen bowl which is amazing as-is but with an little Sriracha sauce it really comes to life. Would absolutely come to this part of Connecticut again for a great date night!!
