Sweet Basil
Rock shrimp and Lychee Martini are my go-to. Service is prompt, plenty of parking, and they have happy hour every day! Great spot for a fun and tasty experience. Highly recommend! Can't wait to return!
Local spot we enjoy. Food is great, kid friendly, quick dinner and food happy hour menu. Don’t love the mandatory 20% service charge added But overall positive experience.
San Jiang
We ordered food in this Chinese place and the chicken with broccoli, came with a big fly so disgusting!! I called them complaining to the regards, and they did not want to return my money. I argue with the girl , but she did not agreed to return the money. this place is horrible! they are dirty and they are not a clean restaurant. please don't buy food there there are better places and clean. This will be my last time buying food in the horrible and disgusting place. I tell you this took away my hunger and my family's as well. I have a headache, all I know I the flies give you diseases. OMG I don't know if I ate one in the food I was too hungry!!! I think I will go to the doctor to check myself what a horrible day!! I don't understand how this Chinese place is still in business!!
order the chicken broccoli and rice combo. while eating this I found this bug on the food. I thought it was a plant or something. i had wash it and pick on it with a spoon to check what the hell it was. Its some bug. I will never order from this place again. We did not even get our money back.
Oriental - Chinese Restaurant
First time ordering and food was fantastic! The service was on time, so friendly and efficient! I placed my order online and got a phone call IMMEDIATELY that they were out of a certain vegetable; I substituted it with no problems. First of all, the respect to call and tell me so fast is not something you come across these days. Much respect and appreciation for that and to me its those little things that count. BONUS* included this AMAZING ❤️ wall calendar for the new year! 🙂 They surely won me over as a new customer will definitely order again!
I hate that I have to write this review. I do so to alert restaurants and other consumer supported businesses to STEP UP their game. Miserable sleep with some of this food heavy in my stomach. I was very hungry from working all day. I do not endorse this restaurant. Periodt!! Overly Pleasant women at the counter knew I was going to get old food. Chicken wings were tough. The shrimp roll was also tough, barely any shrimp in it, overly challenging to chew. The rice was not properly mixed AT ALL. A little mushy, some flavor was more prominent at the top of the container. Amateur cooks, serving old untasty food, UP Charging like every other business since Covid. I actually would like a FULL REFUND! I stopped eating this sort of food because of the poor quality during Covid and skimping with shrimp, etc. I wanted to give the so-called "best in town" a try. Well, I did, and the RESULT IS HERE. 🤮😠 Waste of gas, money, and discomfort to my stomach! NEVER AGAIN!
Hungry Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot
Service was excellent. You can do hot pot only or bbq only or both ($5 extra). As soon as you place your order on the iPad the dishes magically appear. It’s all you can eat, but only order what you can finish! You can also order soft drinks and cocktails, but just stick with water. And if it’s your birthday, let them know!
Great place for Korean BBQ! Everything came out quickly and the servers switch out the grill plates between marinaded meats. They’re very efficient, servers are always around to help. We will be back for hotpot!
Border Grill
The STEAK BOWL is my new go to post workout meal. Border Grill, though tiny in size, offers HUGE flavor across a variety of classic Mexican dishes. They are open for dine-in, takeout, or delivery via the usual apps. In an area with so many great spots to fill your belly, Border Grill MUST be in your rotation.
Great food, prices and the portions are above generous. Service by Luis is OUTSTANDING so are the lovely Chiquitas! They do an awesome job preparing everything fast and accurately. 1st time there spent $50 had enough food for almost 2 days! Great sauces. Everything you would want from a Mexican restaurant is there. Forget Rio Bravo, Puerto Vallarta and all those overpriced Mexican foo foo places. Border Grill is the BOMB!
LC Chen's
Food was pretty good, the staff were nice and the booths are well spaced. For me, I had the curry and I thought the flavor was good, but the size of the meat and shrimp could be a little smaller. The Singapore rice noodle is, according to my mom “the best deal in Fairfield county”. We also had the spring rolls, I forgot to get a picture but they were pretty solid and standard. Overall, 3.75/5 🫡
A Hidden Gem in Fairfield County! We had an unforgettable dining experience at LC Chen in Fairfield, CT! From start to finish, every dish was absolutely delicious. Appetizers: We began with a crunchy Napa cabbage salad and crispy soft-shell crabs. Both were incredibly flavorful, setting the tone for an amazing meal. Soup: The hot and sour soup was a standout! It was packed with tender mushrooms and a perfect balance of tangy and spicy flavors. Main Dishes: The Peking duck was perfection! It felt like an authentic dish straight from Peking itself. The skin was so crisp it crackled with every bite, while the tender, juicy meat melted in our mouths. Paired with hoisin sauce, fresh cucumber, scallions, and soft bun wraps, it was a true taste and textural masterpiece. The owner, Lin Ma, graciously demonstrated how to assemble the wraps, making the experience even more enjoyable. We also ordered the General Tsao's chicken and Singapore shrimp curry noodles, and every plate was emptied quickly--it was that good! LC Chen offers incredibly reasonable prices for such high-quality Chinese cuisine, making it a true treasure in Fairfield County.
LOS POBLANOS MEXICAN GRILL FOOD TRUCK
Read very carefully! If you really like Mexican food, this is the place to come. I ordered fajitas on Grubhub almost a year ago, and I still remember why I decided to come try the place in person. Today I went with a small Chicken Tortilla Soup (amazing size, flavors, and served perfectly) and 2 chicken tostadas. The seasoning is perfect, the food is fresh and the flavors will stay in your mouth for quite some time.
Chili cheese fries were amazing. Fast service too.
Pearl East
Food was ok...service was poor..had a young guy wait on us...seemed to not want to..my friend asked if they had a certain item and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know"..not like it was busy..no one in there at the time.
I got together with a group of friends for the holidays and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The service was excellent , and the food was fantastic, just as I remembered it from my last time here.
China Garden
A yo let me tell your something righ, I’ve been through many parts of America and have tried boneless spare ribs and this is the best spot to go to, Ya heard! Truck drivers bring your tractor for there’s spots out here to park at night to cop and go
We got: shrimp egg roll, crab rangoons, hot&sour soup, beef & broccoli, shrimp in garlic sauce, moo goo gai pan, shrimp lo mien, and general Tso’s chicken. It was all way WAY too sweet and otherwise flavorless. They used way too much cornstarch to thicken all the sauces; everything felt “goopy” The crab Rangoons were sweet enough to be desserts. The hot&sour soup was neither hot nor sour; it was cool&bland. My two teenage sons tried the beef & broccoli and said it wasn’t very good. Then they wouldn’t eat the shrimp&garlic sauce at all! We ate the moo goo gai pan, which was exactly as bland as it was supposed to be. That’s the dish hot sauce was made for. I ate the shrimp egg rolls, which were also bland but I wasn’t expecting much flavor to begin with. Everyone ate the General Tso’s chicken, but it too sweet and simultaneously bland. The place was clean and the service was pleasant
Zheng's Chinese Restaurant
Since Covid Zhengs is a takeout only restaurant. The food is tasty and is ready quickly. The service is good. My favorite is Moo Goo Gai Pan combination plate. I also love their Lo Mein and spring rolls
Just finished up our meal from Zheng’s. We got several dishes and they were all delicious - chow mai fun, lo mein, moo goo gai pan, orange chicken, Gen Tso’s chicken, and vegetable eggrolls. My husband’s only gripe was that the spicy dishes we ordered were too spicy. They are quite spicy, but I loved it! Next time I’d just ask if they could go easy on the chili peppers.
Basil Restaurant
This Howe Street spot sports a "former ice cream parlor goes Asian fusion" aesthetic with all the charm of a dental office waiting room but don't let the utilitarian vibes fool you. The food arrives more quicker than a freshman's meal plan depletes, and the portions could feed the Yale men's football team. That beef and broccoli ($11.25) comes loaded with enough fiber to make your nutritionist cry out with joy (8-10g), while the seaweed salad ($7) sports more sesame seeds than a bagel convention. The veggies snap with freshness, though the brown sauce plays it safer than a non tenured professor around them coeds. The space, bathed in fluorescent glory and vintage turquoise walls, won't win any design awards, but it nails the clinical essentials: swift service, big big portions, and prices that remember what "reasonable" means. Plus, you're getting like 15-20g of fiber, practically a wellness influencer's fever dream. Bottom line: Come for the surprisingly fresh veggies, stay for the efficient service, and embrace the charming lack of pretense. Just don't expect mood lighting to hide that mountain of brown rice or seal the deal on a third date. Not happening, lady. Price: $ (Your wallet will send a thank-you note) Vibe: Functional meets flagrant fluorescent Best for: When substance triumphantly trumps style
I was looking for a simple place with good food. This place is it. Good food, with wide selection which can get overwhelming, waitress was extremely helpful and I got exactly what I was craving. Even though it’s called something different at their place, but it was Laksa, filled with generous amounts of seafood. Tap water tasted good. Bathroom was clean. I can’t wait to go back and eat there again. Highly recommend.
Thai Smile
It’s hard to find a winner for taste, service and price. Thai Smile checks off all 3. We enjoyed pad see ew, appetizer and bubble tea. It was all tasty and served promptly. The place is small but clean and bright, and lunch ranges from $8-$10. Will definitely return next time in that area.
We've ordered from here several times already. Every time we try something new. The food is top notch quality. You can tell someone who knows what they're doing is running the kitchen. Delicious and authentic!
