I heard about this place and now i got to experience it. Excellent decor, great service and food that meets the standard of anyone with love for Uzbek or Asian food. I was very impressed with the way they present their dishes… gold fish was a nice touch (see my video) Place is big enough to host a private party or even an event and has a small stage for live music. They have 3 rooms as well so you can still have a private event and not have to book the entire restaurant. Certainly will be back. Some seating is available outside as well and plenty of free parking.

Hidden Gem Halal restaurant. Food was very good and reasonably priced. We did the assorted hot appetizers, the four skewer comb, and the plov rice. Was more than even enough for my family of four. What's nice is that you get to choose the meat you want for the skewer combo. We went with wings, kofta, chicken, and the short ribs. All the meat was cooked perfectly and the wings were very juicy. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something different than our regular indian or middle eastern food.

9/3/24 We decided to try something new and ventured into the world of Uzbek cuisine. The restaurant was surprisingly spacious with beautifully decorated walls showcasing local art and culture. Cher, our server, was incredibly friendly and helpful, which was a huge plus given our unfamiliarity with Uzbek cuisine. We started with a pot of Green tea, served in a charming tea set. Herring with Potatoes - decent appetizer, though a bit salty for our taste. Angry Papa (Grilled Eggplant puree) - a standout dish, with a delicious flavor. The only downside was the pita bread, which was a bit too crispy for our preference. It would have gone better with a soft fluffy pita. Uzbek Style Lamb Short Ribs - flavorful and not gamey at all. They were served with three sauces: spicy, tzatziki, and red. Be warned, the spicy sauce is comparable to Indian spice levels. The tzatziki complemented the lamb well and was also delicious with the fish. The red sauce was a simple tomato-based sauce that wasn't particularly memorable. Fried Sazan - which turned out to be carp. Should have google it... so many tiny bones. We won't be ordering that again and will stick to familiar fish like dorado or bronzino. Overall, our experience with Uzbek cuisine was enjoyable. The restaurant's atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food made it a memorable dining adventure.

📍 Old Bukhara in River Edge, NJ. Have you ever had Uzbek cuisine? I’ve never had it until I went to here! Very authentic, beautifully decorated and you feel totally transported. Uzbekistan's signature dish is Plov-a combo of pilaf, meat, raisins and fresh herbs. There’s live music on Friday and Saturday nights and it’s BYOB! The service is amazing! Insta: @thehungrysw 🌀Tandoori crispy samsa (Signature Uzbek puff pastry stuffed with veal, lamb, onions, and traditional spice blend) 🌀Toki Dolma (Uzbek grape leaves, stuffed with rice, lamb and beef, served with a side of sour cream) 🌀Achik chuchuk (Tomato, chili, onions and basil) 🌀Shepherd bag (Fillet mignon cut into small pieces, fried with bell peppers, tomato, onions, garlic baked into wrap) 🌀Mantu (Steamed Uzbek dumplings filled with choice of veal or pumpkin) 🌀Samarkand plov (The Uzbek national entrée made with short grain rice topped with a succulent blend of slow-roasted lamb and beef, complemented with savory steamed carrots, chickpeas, raisins, and fresh herbs) 🌀Shish Kebab (Lamb and Kufta) 🌀Homemade fruit compote
