Wei West Intro

Wei West is a restaurant located at 235 Murray St, New York, NY 10282, USA, that offers Chinese cuisine along with other options like sushi. This introduction aims to provide local users in Taiwan with insights into this establishment based on online customer reviews, highlighting aspects that might be of interest.

One reviewer expressed a strong positive sentiment, wishing they lived closer to the restaurant. A significant feature they noted was the extensive gluten-free (gf) menu, where all soy-based ingredients are tamari-based. This customer enjoyed a noodle dish and found it difficult to choose from the many appealing options. They also mentioned that their son enjoyed a non-gf Philly steak sandwich and fries. Notably, the restaurant accommodated a vegetarian at their table by adding tofu to a dish at no extra charge, showcasing flexibility and customer service. The staff were described as wonderful, and the location was deemed great.

Another reviewer mentioned having good sushi and great service specifically at the bar. They also noted that the location was a little tough to find but expressed satisfaction with their visit and intention to return.

Based on these reviews, Wei West appears to offer a diverse menu that includes Chinese dishes and sushi. A key feature is its attention to gluten-free diners, with a dedicated menu using tamari for soy-based ingredients. The restaurant also demonstrates a willingness to accommodate dietary needs, as seen with the addition of tofu for a vegetarian. The staff is described as wonderful and the service at the bar as great. The environment seems welcoming, though specific details about the decor are not provided. The location might be slightly challenging to find for some.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. However, the positive feedback regarding the extensive gluten-free options, the quality of both Chinese cuisine and sushi, and the accommodating service could be attractive to potential customers in Taiwan who are interested in these types of dining experiences, should they have the opportunity to visit or order from Wei West through international platforms, if available.

Omg I wish I lived near this restaurant. I couldn't believe what was on the menu for gf. All soy is tamari based. I had a wonderful noodle dish. I was so excited and it was so hard to choose. We wandered over from New Jersey side and it was well worth it. It will be my go-to in NYC from now on. My son had the not gf Philly steak sandwhich and fries and holy cow. Plus we had a veggie at the table and they added tofu to a random dish with no extra charge. Fantastic. Staff were wonderful. Great location!!

I never get to eat Chinese food like sesame chicken because I’m gluten free, I visited Wei west because I saw they offered this. They deserve way more stars than 3.9, it was so delicious. My husband had regular (not gf) and said mine was just as good. I LOVED IT. Gluten free paradise, great food!

Place looked okay on the inside. Came with two other people we were able to order takeaway quickly. Did the lunch bento. Food was barely warm and definitely below average- I got the pork dumplings and beef option. No flavor at all, not worth the price at all. I only finished the miso soup. Disappointing during my lunch rush.

We got the Rainbow Roll and the Shrimp Tempura roll. The fish was fresh, but not the most flavorful. It also wasn't very filling for the price. Both rolls were mediocre, not bad, but not the best either. Also whoever is in charge of the music system needs to turn of discord notifications, since I heard nothing but notifications popping up during the music.
