Northern King Dumpling 노던 왕만두 北方包子王 - Handmade dumplings

An interesting restaurant. You get to see the dumplings being made in front of you in the dining area. We had their boiled shrimp and chive dumplings, beef knife cut noodles, and a kimchi steamed bun. Everything was tasty and we had a good meal for our first visit.

I usually pick up a few veggie buns here when driving by after work. It’s really good 👍 and at $3.50 each is reasonably priced. The egg pancakes are worth a try also. My only complaint is they tend to sell out of the veggie buns if you come late afternoon. It’s cash only. They also serve noodles here for dine in and other options.

My favorite buns in NYC, cannot even explain how delicious and fresh all the buns are. The kimchi one is my favorite but you really can’t go wrong with anything you order. Hidden gem for sure

In terms of healthy food, this restaurant gets 4 stars. The veggie buns are really good, with a variety of vegetables like you’d make at home. Eating a variety of vegetables is good for the gut microbiome. I don’t get why there aren’t any similar vegetarian dumplings tho? You could use the same filling as the veggie buns and that would be good. Or do the chive w/ egg which is really simple and yummy and filling. Please add a vegetarian dumpling to the menu!

Now these are some solid dumplings. Well worth the delivery fees on Uber eats plus priority. The Cabbage Pork dumplings were excellent and finely minced. Not a single piece of gristle or anything chewy. The Shrimp Chive dumplings were also fantastic. Both nice portions for the price and plenty left over for the next day. Also tried the Kimchi Pork Bun which was huge and absolutely stuffed. This will be my go-to dumpling place from now on. Take notes, Shanghai You Garden!
