Minghin Cuisine Intro
Minghin Cuisine, located at 215 E Ohio St in Chicago, is a Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese-style food, including a notable selection of dim sum. Customers describe the restaurant as having a "fancy looking" ambiance.
A key feature of Minghin Cuisine is its availability for late-night dinner, with one reviewer expressing surprise and satisfaction with the quality of food received on a Tuesday night at a later hour. This suggests that Minghin Cuisine caters to diners looking for Chinese options outside of typical dinner hours.
The dim sum offerings at Minghin Cuisine are reported to be reasonably priced, providing an opportunity to sample a variety of small dishes in one sitting, which is appreciated by customers wanting to try a bit of everything. However, some feedback indicates that the flavors of the dim sum may not be particularly outstanding. Specific criticisms include vegetables being "uninspiring" and a shrimp crepe that could benefit from more sauce. Additionally, other dishes, such as noodles, were noted as being somewhat "underwhelming" due to sauce distribution.
Despite these critiques regarding specific dishes, the overall experience seems satisfactory for some, particularly the convenience of enjoying a variety of dim sum and the availability of quality food late at night.
Information regarding additional services such as delivery or specific details about the restaurant's environment beyond its "fancy looking" Cantonese style is not provided in the given reviews. Similarly, no specific promotional information is mentioned.
In summary, Minghin Cuisine offers Cantonese-style food and a variety of reasonably priced dim sum in Chicago, with the added benefit of being open for late-night dining. While some dishes have received mixed reviews regarding flavor and preparation, it remains a spot where diners can enjoy a selection of dim sum. Local users looking for a late-night Chinese option or a place to sample various dim sum might find Minghin Cuisine a suitable choice. This was my second visit here. The experience is, it is what it is. The dim sum offerings are reasonably priced, though the flavors don’t exactly dazzle. The vegetables were rather uninspiring, and the shrimp crepe could benefit from more gooey sauce. Other dishes, such as the noodles, also seemed a bit underwhelming in terms of sauce distribution. Still, I appreciate that this spot allows me to enjoy a variety of dim sum in one sitting—perfect for sampling a bit of everything.
Fancy looking Cantonese style food in the heart of Chicago. We got some delicious dim sum in a random Tuesday night. I was amazed the quality of food for late night dinner so I would say I was happy.
Everything we ordered was delicious - congee didn't get watery even towards the end of the meal, duck, BBQ pork, and pork dumplings tasted excellent. Vegetables were crisp and not soggy. Service was prompt and friendly; would definitely come back.
Everything was perfect, and the price was surprisingly low. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for asain cuisine. Food for 8 hungry people cost me $114, which was during happy hour(20% off), and that price includes the tip. Service was quick and very kind. The tea is good and the guy who pours your water is skilled. You would have to see to know what I mean. Overall, it is an outstanding 5-star restaurant.
The place itself looks beautiful. Very modern with eye-catching architecture and lighting fixtures. The staff were friendly and prompt. We ordered off an iPad once we were seated, and we went with the orange chicken and the shumai. The orange chicken was lacking. A lot of pieces of just batter and no chicken, and the pieces that did have chicken weren’t super seasoned. The sauce itself was doing a lot of carrying taste-wise rather than the chicken itself. The portion was also kind of small for what we paid, while only coming with a single bowl of rice which wasn’t really much for two people. Another bowl costs extra :) The shumai was fantastic though! Striking flavors with the texture that you know and love.
