Frank's Noodle House
Our first time here was last year, and we loved it, but unfortunately, I do not recall exactly what we ordered. This was our 2nd trip here, and we ordered Pork Belly Stir-Fried Hand-Pulled Noodles, Sesame Chicken, Crab Puffs, and Thai Tea. It is family-style eating. The Sesame Chicken was tasty, and I loved how tender it was. I probably could have gone for another round of crab puffs, 4 was not enough, especially because we were sharing. The Thai Tea took me back to Thailand. It's been a long time since we had decent Thai tea. The noodles seemed to be lacking flavor for some reason. This is the one thing I do recall ordering the last time, and it was so flavorful. We got lucky. We were pretty much the only ones eating in there since we went to eat at a weird time. The waiter was friendly and did a good job. We'll be back again.
It was good!! Yummy food. Very quick and fast service. Git seated very promptly. I just felt that the dumplings didn't have as much flavor as I was expecting and they didn't wow me. The noodles themselves were also very yummy but seemed to be missing something. Idk if I should order them spicier (level 2 was pretty mild to me) and I ordered veggie noodles instead of meat ones so maybe the meat would give it more flavor I was missing? I would definitely go back and give them another try.
Wheat Bay Portland
Really really good Schezwan on the east side! Everything we tried was better than the last dish. The chicken wanton soup stood out, will definitely order that again. I was shocked by the Mapo Tofu, I didn't even realize it was vegetarian and missing the pork! My only complaint is that it was not as spicy as I was hoping. I'll ask them to challenge me next time.
If you love spicy food, must try their “Spicy ground pork with vermicelli” this is definitely the one will make you come back again and again, not even mention the “Braised ground pork over rice” which is children’s favorite bowl! However, I suggest put some veggies on the rice bowl to balance the tastes!
Wong's Garden
Got takeout for dinner. Food was very tasty and felt high quality. They use fresh vegetables which makes all the difference. Service was quick and good Think I just found my new favorite Chinese place
Paid 35$ plus tip to be 40$. General Taos chicken was not that great or crunchy, white rice decent. Crab puffs were meh. The pork fried rice my wife stopped eating a couple bites in. The meat looked off in color and it did not taste good. Definitely not going back. Avoid!
Hoho Restaurant
Good spot to enjoy Chinese food, the duck was not “gamey” and was just cooked right. Salt and pepper squid was not doughy , good coating was perfect, will definitely dine in again when we have the chance.
Lovely place to get lunch at. Calm atmosphere and kind staff that was quick to serve and check on us. Food was great! My partner had the sweetheart chicken and I had the broccoli beef. Both were delicious. This is the second time eating here and I will be coming back.
Jumbo | Restaurant & Lounge
I think the deep fryer needed changed?? The fried shrimp and the rolls were really greasy and not very tasty. It’s been several months from the last time I ordered. I’m not sure I’ll order again. Portions are great. I would’ve given a one, but I’m really hungry so I am giving it a two.
03/14/18: 4.5 out 5 - Jumbo Restaurant is a hole in the wall, tucked away Chinese restaurant off SE Johnson Creek that is surprisingly with tasty food and fast, friendly service to go with it. Jumbo is nestled out of the way from the many food scene and mainstream restaurants. It's in an old brick building next to a laundry mat and heavy equipment rental building. I never thought to give it a second look. Well, to my surprise, my wife wanted to try it. So one day we did. The food portions is plentiful for the price you pay. Everything is made fresh to order, and comes prepared the way you ask for it. Very tasty dishes! The food servers are friendly and quite helpful in making suggestions based on what you are feeling to have. If you ever find yourself near Jumbo stop in or order take out. Either way just try this place out once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!
Wong's Garden
Is Chinese food is good! The staff seems very kind and attentive. It has video poker and that's great if you like it. However and also brings in certain clientele. In particular people experiencing homelessness and it can feel a bit unsafe in the area depending on your time of day. Absolutely wonderful for takeout however!
Food did not taste fresh! Pork Chow Mien had no pork to be found so maybe it pork flavored. Fried shrimp was mostly breading. Pork fried rice was white rice with tiny pieces of pork that was very very very tough. Sweet and Sour pork was lots of breading with small pieces of tough pork. This was absolutely the worst place we have been to.
Chan's Steakery
Best Chinese food, big proportions and great prices! Servers are amazing! They make you feel like family!! Karaoke is always a good time &Karaoke DJ is amazing!
Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Milwaukie! The food is delicious and the owner's attention to detail and authenticity is reflected in not only the dishes but also the atmosphere. Their Lunar New Year celebration with Lion Dance, Firecrackers, Fan and Fire Dance was a so much fun to attend. Kudos to the Chan's crew for putting this together and executing it so well.
Ling Garden Restaurant
Excellent, clean, and comfortable place to get delicious Chinese food at reasonable prices and fast speed in a good neighborhood. It's more on the Americanized side than absolutely authentic, but the food they make is great. I'd definitely recommend the salt and pepper chicken, full of delicious flavor. They have really good pan fried noodles as well, if you're into it. The staff is friendly and tries to help you enjoy your food as best as possible, feel free to ask for recommendations.
The owners are sooooo nice!! We came after work (close to closing) but they were still really friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, I love their twice cooked pork (although slightly different than what I expected but it’s really good!!) 🤤 We ordered 3 dishes for 3, but the portion could feed a village 😆 (jk we were just stuffed lol I also like how their food isn’t douse in salt, so it’s the perfect amount of savory to my personal liking Would recommend!!!! Can’t wait to come back again
28 Tigers
I'd been patiently waiting for my date here, and we were both absolutely blown away by how fantastic the ginger chicken bao was! The vibe of 28 Tigers is special, I love the casual feel, the open kitchen with all it's cluttered glory, the friendly employees, and, wow, the food! I'll be coming back to try hopefully everything else from the menu, as it's a concise menu, not what you might be used to seeing at a typical Chinese restaurant.
A nice little joint with good dishes, but everything was a bit too salty for my taste. It would’ve been great to have something milder to balance things out.
Kuang's Kitchen
At first glance, I had my doubts, but when I saw the prices, I was blown away. Very affordable, and the portion sizes were far beyond my expectations. Must try their shrimp curry an abundance amount shrimp, not like other restaurants that skimp out on the shrimp. All in all, I will highly recommend this whole in the wall restaurant.
Food was delicious and plenty! Shrimp fried rice is so worth it. And they provide water from the water filter jug (Brita water). They also provided complimentary oolong tea and egg flower soup.
Uncle Tsang's Kitchen
We’ve eaten here over a dozen times now and it never disappoints - truly incredible vegan food! The veggie pot stickers (a must!), veggie egg rolls, garlic cabbage, & crispy pumpkin are literal perfection. The kung pao cauliflower/tofu is delicious as well. Super affordable, fresh and fairly quick. Wish they offered a way to order ahead of time, but not a deal breaker. One of the best food trucks in PDX!
So many delicious vegan options, great portions, amazing price, and lovely people 🥰 there's a wait sometimes but it's well worth it!
Kung POW!
Came by for Chinese New Year. Atmosphere: Not the comfiest table seating and a little drafty by the bathroom, but I forgot about that once our food came. Price: The portions were quite fair for the $16 price. I brought someone who typically never has leftovers and they had enough chicken for a snack the next day. Food: I love when a place has both vegan AND meat on the menu so my company is happy. The dishes we ordered both had us happy dancing in our seats. Cons: Hours- The service was lovely, but I did notice that it is not welcomed to arrive at 9:30 despite the closing time being 10pm.
Amazing Chinese Food and Service! I grabbed a delivery order of the vegetable trio - broccoli, shitake mushrooms, snow peas with white rice and spring rolls! It came with huge pieces of freshly cut mushrooms! It was a last minute order and it was 30 min before they closed. I appreciate how kind they were taking my order over the phone and how nicely my food was made inspite of this! They have options for online ordering for pick-up or delivery service. The dining room is super clean, cozy and inviting when you walk in. I will definitely be ordering again and putting this in my top 3 of Chinese restaurants I order from! Thank you for such wonderful food and service!
