Tom's Lotus Garden
Every visit is for weekend brunch dim sum. Solid lineup and good quality. Consistently meets my expectations. I’ve had better dim sum and service but at least up to standards. I don’t go to any place in town for dim sum.
The dim sum was awesome but the restaurant was really dirty. It's in a bad area of town but it has gotten great reviews.
Fried Rice
This is a little hole in the wall place . 1st time I have ever been here, the shrimp fried rice is really good and the egg rolls are little greasy but very good. Only take out, cash only .
Chicken, pork, shrimp, or combination of all three fried rice served with two egg rolls and one generic brand soda can for $6 Fried rice didn't have much flavor but the egg rolls were truly fantastic! Overall it's perfect if you're looking for cheap eats, otherwise it's not worth the visit.
Shanghai Chinese Restaurant
If you’re looking for a place that brings back memories of classic Chinese buffets from 2000s era, then this place is worth a visit. While the food itself is just okay for typical Chinese restaurants —nothing too extraordinary— but it’s made up for the atmosphere and the people that truly make the experience special that you don’t get from modern restaurant nowadays. The restaurant has that familiar, slightly retro charm and packed with family outings, kids or casual dinners from different backgrounds after a long day. It’s cozy, the lighting is warm, and there’s something comforting about the hum of conversation , background soft music and clinking of plates. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time and just enjoy the moment. The staff are genuinely friendly, always greeting customers with a smile and making sure you’re comfortable. Overall, if you’re after a five-star culinary experience, this might not be the place. But if you appreciate a nostalgic, laid-back buffet , casual Chinese food , with kind people and a welcoming vibe, it’s definitely worth a visit. I will come back at least once a month.
Went there for mothers day yesterday and was completely shocked. Place was completely packed busy with people but we didn't even have to wait to be seated. 👌Food was completely full and fresh in the buffet lines. Waitress checked on us often with a big smile. Price was about 47 bucks for two of us with sodas but honestly I think it was money well spent. Great food and great service. Owner came and talked to us at our table and she was very nice. Will return. 👌👍
China Town
We love this place! We were sad when Fuji's closed but this place has been an excellent replacement. Always good cheap food and fast delivery. Portion sizes on the combos are easily good for 2+ meals as well. Don't expect some fancy food but if you want good classic homemade Chinese food for a good price, this is it.
We ordered general tsos and some wonton dumplings. The food doesn't taste homemade, it tastes like just some frozen breaded chicken chunks were used. which is okay. But the chicken and rice had no flavor. What stood out was black pepper in the breading. We used soy sauce and it didn't even taste salty. Just very bland food. The tso sauce is not bad, they said it was spicy but there is no spice whatsoever, it's just sweet. The rice tastes mushy but is not overcooked, I think just unwashed. The wontons were very strange. They were overcooked and very hard. They were supposed to be pork, and when I bit into it I couldn't tell what I was eating. It is incredibly bland, no flavor whatsoever and incredibly greasy. I didn't hate the chicken and rice but I did not like the wonton. Overall I would say it wasnt horrible. My partner felt like the general tso was 6 out of 10, and the wonton 0 out of 10. The most flavorful thing was the sweet and sour sauce. Not bad prices but usually when food is very bland like this it is old, that's my fear. But it could just be absolutely no seasoning. I cannot tell honestly. The front desk person was polite. We may try some other time and see if it's any better and if we do I will update my review.
Ah-So Oriental Restaurant
Their crab rangoon is so good! Pic is general chicken and soft noodle. Their rice is also good.
I've eaten here on several occasions. The food is very tasty. The food is out and fresh in less than 10 minutes. They have the best Mongolian beef I've had in a long time. The veggies are perfectly cooked, and the sauces are never overpowering. Don't skip on the wonton soup or the mandu, some of the best appetizers on their menu.
China Go Grill
I love China Go and will often drive all the way across town to get it. They have recently remodeled everything in the store. It looks great. The problem. The quality of their food went down. Their dishes are not as tasty as they used to be. To the point when I want Chinese, this is not the first place I think of anymore. They used to have the best rice and their food tasted so fresh. Not that way currently. Which makes me sad. The spring rolls also have a weird almost chemical taste to them. Maybe try a different place until they get back to being good.
I love this place. They offer very good food for very good prices. Their portions are huge. I really like the orange chicken and the fried rice. I drive into Wichita once or twice a month and I make sure to stop by here and grab some take-out. I can get 2 to 3 good meals out of one order when other Chinese take-out I only get 1. The people are always nice and it is super fast. Give it a shot!
Panda Express
Some of the food was really good, while some of the food was less than that. The temperature inside was on the warmer humid side. I was hoping for a nice cool place to sit and eat but it was on the hotter side in the building.
This is to let everyone know that it is located in the Rhatigan Student Center. There is free parking to the south. You do not have to park in the parking garage. Parking in the Visitor spots is free. You do not have to be a WSU student to eat here.
China Inn Restaurant
Went in for lunch. Everything came out hot and was plated beautifully. Staff were all very friendly and on top of service. Bathroom was also clean. I would return and try something else from the menu. We had sesame chicken and sweet sour chicken along with some egg drop soup that was well flavored and had chicken chunks.
Hadn't eaten here in quite some time and was honestly very disappointed in the food. Ordered hot and sour soup which was ok. Entrees were Happy Family and Hong Sue Har Kew. Happy family was so salty and the broccoli was still raw. The Hong Sue Har Kew was sickeningly sweet. The only thing that we enjoyed was the fried calamari appetizer. Service, however, was excellent. Doubtful we will ever return.
Dragon City
Moo Goo Gai Pan from Dragon City on S. Webb Rd.. The last time I was here, I kinda had a bad experience. But it's been over a year since my last visit, and the people who work there are wonderful and deserve my business. But this time around, the food was better than expected. Flavors were basic but still came together well. There was yellow fried rice in the bottom of the bowl, which I'm a sucker for. Vegetables were cooked perfectly, and made this dish even better. I've never ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan before, and it's something I plan on getting again in the future.
Ordered Buddha Delight and found myself very delighted! It's hard to find delicious vegetarian food when I'm traveling, and this was better than average.
Yum Mi Express
Absolutely amazing lil restaurant! The place is family run and friendly - the server was patient with our questions and made awesome recommendations. All the food we ordered was delicious! Had me dancing in my seat🤤 best crab rangoons I've ever had, the vegetables were fresh with the two Vietnamese dishes I got and my soul and body felt clean and happy after eating there. Highly recommend!
I was very pleased with my dining experience today! The General Tso’s chicken was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the environment was pleasant. Thank you!
Tianluo Bistro
Having a late lunch... The food was great came out hot and fresh. Chicken and mixed vegetables with a fried egg roll & general tso's chicken fried rice. Proportions were more than we could eat for lunch will make great for microwaving.
First time trying Tianluo Bistro. Food was good. The sweet and sour pork ribs threw us off though, with the sauce looking like gravy, not your typical sweet and sour sauce. Kung pao chicken and the dumplings were our favorite. Overall, food was 4/5. Service however was mediocre. The waitresses didn’t really seem to know the menu well. Weren’t very attentive.
China Go
Came in to grab a quick lunch. Love supporting a family business! Service was friendly, fast and got food quickly. The portion size was great (enough for lunch and dinner), was hot and good (a little “bland” but I didn’t ask for any heat). Will definitely be coming back! Supplemental: Would recommend coming in and not ordering online cause it is cheaper to order in person. Owners and staff were friendly as usual and portions are still huge!
China Go more like china NO ! Went to get some great food and everything went down hill from entering the establishment not realy ment for siting and eating to the quality and food issues... and the cost was 60 with tip for 3 people. Egg rolls taste like a dirty mop meat was slightly undercooked but no new news there. Nothing much to choose from besides what they want you to eat... We came in for dinner at 7:30 ... leaving at 8 they just closed.
