Customer reviews for House of Hunan Chicago - Lincoln Park present mixed opinions. One recent review expresses significant dissatisfaction, stating it is "quite literally the worst Chinese food in Chicago." This customer described several dishes negatively, including the Mongolian chicken (flavorless with gritty meat), shrimp chop suey (disgusting), and steamed potstickers (globs of dough with lukewarm filling). They also reported that the eggrolls and chicken wings tasted like they were fried in old oil and strongly recommended avoiding the restaurant, citing an $80 loss.

In contrast, another customer shared a positive experience, mentioning that they "enjoyed Country Tofu and Korean Chicken," describing both as "very good" with "generous portions." This reviewer also noted that the "Avocado was great too."

Given the conflicting recent reviews, it is advisable for potential customers to consider these varying experiences when making a decision. While one reviewer had a highly negative experience across multiple dishes, another found specific dishes to be enjoyable with good portion sizes.

This is quite literally the worst Chinese food in Chicago! The sad thing is I used to order from them years ago and they were actually quite good. The Mongolian chicken was absolutely horrible with no flavor except for the gritty meat. The shrimp chop Suey was disgusting, and the steamed potstickers were literally globs of glutenous dough around lukewarm pork filling. The eggrolls and chicken wings tasted like they were fried in month old rancid cooking oil. I would avoid it all cost! $80 flushed down the toilet.

I order a lot from this resturant and it's always hit or miss. The most recent order was a miss. The crab ragoon did not come with Sweet and Sour sauce. The mango soothie was off in color and taste. Wish it more consistent.

The Moo Shu shrimp was very good, but it unexpectedly had pork in it. Yuk!! The shrimp spring rolls were also very good. The strawberry fruit smoothie is pictured..nothing smoothie about it. It tested like syrup in water. Threw the whole thing out. Super sweet and awful.
