Welcome to Cheng Du 23, your premier destination in Taiwan for authentic Szechuan cuisine. While our original restaurant is located at 6 Willowbrook Blvd, Wayne, NJ 07470, USA, we are excited to bring the bold and vibrant flavors of Szechuan to the local community in Taiwan.
Based on reviews from our US customers, Cheng Du 23 is considered one of the best Szechuan restaurants in the area. Our food is praised for its perfect blend of spicy and flavorful profiles. Signature dishes like the Dan Dan noodles and triple pepper chicken are particularly popular, noted for being rich in flavor yet surprisingly "leaner" in terms of oil compared to other establishments.
The aesthetic of Cheng Du 23 is described as a "huge Chinese restaurant with standard Chinese design," often bustling with activity. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a large and impressive fish tank, and the restaurant features a well-decorated ceiling, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere.
Our service is consistently highlighted as "very good" and "top-notch," with staff attentive to diners' needs and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. Customers have noted that food is served remarkably fast, minimizing wait times.

The beef noodles are also lauded for their tender beef and quality noodles.
Please be aware that our original US location advises customers that paying with cash is preferable due to a 3% processing fee for credit card transactions. We will inform our Taiwan customers about our local payment policies upon opening.

Came here two weeks ago to get dinner with some friends. One of the best Szechuan places in the area. Food: I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and triple pepper chicken. They were the perfect blend of spicy and flavorful. I like how even though the dishes are cooked in chili oil, they seem "leaner" with the oil compared to other places. Aesthetic: huge Chinese restaurant with standard Chinese design. Place was busy! Service: our service was very good, staying on top of everything and always asking if we needed anything.
We picked this for lunch as part of our Willowbrook mall day trip. It’s only couple minutes from the mall, can even walk, about 10 minutes on foot. The restaurant looks very nice with a huge fish tank right at the entrance, and a well decorated ceiling. They have a large menu with all sorts of Szechuan dishes. We got the ox tripe and tongue, nicely made cold appetizer. Shrimp dumplings were average, didn’t seem like it was freshly made. But pecking duck was such a good dish. Really tender duck with crispy skin outside. Came with some baos, and delicious pecking sauce. We consumed the whole duck just making our own baos. The beef noodles dish was also excellent, with tender beef and good noodles. The service was top notch. Food came put real fast, didn’t have to wait too long. Better to pay via cash cause credit cards have a 3% processing fee. Overall it’s a really good Szechuan style Asian restaurant.
Stopped in because it was rated the highest 4.3 of food options in the area, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered shrimp fry rice with scallions, onions and eggs ($13 WORTH IT). The rice is 100/10. The best Chinese rice I ever had. General tso’s chicken ($17 NOT WORTH IT, 5/10) lacked sauce and just wasn’t crispy. Plain pork lo mein ($13 NOT WORTH IT, 3/10) VERY DRY AND HARD. And broccoli in garlic sauce ($15 NOT WORTH IT, LACKED FLAVOR, my broccoli was swimming in sauce/oil, NO FLAVOR, 5/10). Overall they were nice, service was nice, but the dishes aren’t worth the price!
Had the braised beef in hot chili oil, excellent! Also try the fish fillet and Chinese vegetable lunch special, Tasty and Fresh..
The food was excellent. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees for the group and nothing disappointed. The prices were good, especially for the portions. Staff were very friendly, specifically the servers! Can't wait to go back!
