Chef Yu

Chef Yu is a fantastic spot for Chinese food in NYC! The hot and sour soup was absolutely delicious, with just the right balance of flavors. I also appreciated that the cocktails were reasonably priced, which is a nice bonus in the city. But the real star here is the food—it was very good, exceeding my expectations in every way. I’m already looking forward to returning the next time I’m in the city. If you’re craving quality Chinese food, Chef Yu is a must-visit!

Stopped in and had an amazing lunch here with some friends. It wasn’t too busy, very nice environment, everyone is very friendly, staff is quick and can be a bit pushy but to as bad as some places I have been to. The Brunch drinks are worth it and the food wow, it was amazing. Overall I would say please stop by and enjoy. This place has been here through a lot and before the pandemic it was very hard to even get in the door. When you come you will understand why.

The presentation for the dishes are not great, but they are yummy and fresh with ingredients from China town daily. It serve house tea, the prices are very reasonable. the restroom is clean and fresh which is a big plus for Chinese restaurant.

Been coming here for years! The food and drinks are amazing. The staff is so sweet they don't rush you out. Very relaxing environment. Looks like an expensive place but the prices are very reasonable especially for the area. Also the portions are perfect.. Not teeny. Great place to have a get together...even a company party.

This is a beautiful restaurant. Service is outstanding. You can find street parking via meters in this area and garage parking nearby on 9th Avenue & 36 Street. Affordable menu with a wide variety of food choices. My only concern was they do not offer an assortment of soft drinks - no Pepsi, Orange, or Grape sodas. Nonetheless, this establishment is clean, friendly service, and the food is delicious!
