About Big Wong

Big Wong is a Chinese restaurant situated at 683 9th Avenue in the bustling city of New York, NY. Operating within the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," Big Wong aims to offer a variety of Chinese culinary options to the local community and visitors. As a Chinese restaurant, it is expected to provide a menu featuring popular dishes and potentially regional specialties that are characteristic of Chinese cuisine.

Based on the available customer reviews, it is important for potential patrons to be aware of some reported issues concerning food quality and service at Big Wong. Several reviewers have expressed significant dissatisfaction with their experiences. One customer who purchased a combination of soy chicken and roast pork with rice described the meal as "very disappointing." Specifically, they found the roast pork to be "very tough and inedible," suggesting it may not have been freshly prepared. Additionally, the rice was reported as being "hard," further detracting from the dining experience.

Another reviewer shared a negative experience regarding a three-meat rice dish, highlighting that the "crispy roasted pork belly was super salty" to the point of being inedible. This indicates a potential inconsistency in the preparation and seasoning of their dishes, which could impact the overall enjoyment of the meal for customers.

In terms of service, one customer reported a considerable delay in receiving their order, stating that "the food preparation and delivery took nearly an hour just for one dish." This suggests potential inefficiencies in their order processing or delivery system, which could be a concern for customers looking for a quick meal or relying on timely delivery.

Furthermore, a reviewer who ordered a three-meat rice dish specifically requested utensils but did not receive any. This oversight forced them to use a "coffee stirrer from the hotel to eat," indicating a lack of attention to detail in fulfilling order requirements, particularly for takeout or delivery customers. The same reviewer concluded that "the business is run so poorly," advising others to avoid the establishment.

The collective feedback from these reviews paints a concerning picture regarding the consistency and quality of food and the reliability of service at Big Wong. While these are individual experiences and may not represent every customer's interaction with the restaurant, they should be taken into consideration by those contemplating ordering from or dining at this establishment.

Just back from buying 2 packets of rice. One of which consists of the soy chicken and roast pork. Very disappointing as the Roast pork was very tough and inedible, seemed like it was from days ago! And the rice is also hard! Hoping the other fried rice is OK.

Avoid this place!!! Because it was nearby (0.3 miles) and I decided to order from here, but the food preparation and delivery took nearly an hour just for one dish. I ordered a three-meat rice dish, but the crispy roasted pork belly was super salty that I couldn’t even eat it. I specifically selected and noted that I needed utensils, but nothing was provided, I had to use the coffee stirrer from the hotel to eat. The business is run so poorly, avoid it!!!

I’ve only done takeouts, and quality has been consistently great! My go to spot for Cantonese food! The atmosphere of the store is not very nice, but it’s at least clean. Most of the time when I go pickup my food the store is empty, which is surprising to see considering how great the food taste… When I went during soft opening a year or two ago, the food tasted not so good. However, I’m glad I decided to give them a second try. Since then the quality has been consistent, I hope this place stays open as I now go almost every week.

Terrible service and terrible food. The waitress was extremely rude. I asked another table what they had ordered because their food looked delicious. The waitress yelled me for talking to them and told me to “look at my own menu.” A gentleman from that table later came over and told me what they had ordered. While the food looked appetizing, it was WAY too salty. It was almost inedible. Other reviews have also complained about overly salted food. The fried rice was also lackluster. It was unbelievable how rude the waitress was. She rushed us to order as soon as we sat down. Avoid this place at all cost.

Ya all tripping! This food is delicious just as good as the one on Mott st. My family has been going to the Mott st location for over 20 years. So glad there is now one closer to home. We got the wonton soup, appetizer pork, house fried rice and Chinese broccoli AMAZING and enough to take home left overs. Don’t forget their amazing scallion ginger sauce to top it off. All food prices are reasonable priced in comparison to the neighborhood. Zero complaints
