About 老友记(粵菜) Bamboo Seafood Restaurant
老友记(粵菜) Bamboo Seafood Restaurant, located at 5108 7th Ave in Brooklyn, New York, offers local users a Cantonese dining experience with a focus on seafood. According to customer reviews, the restaurant serves basic Cantonese-style dishes. One notable dish mentioned was a combination plate featuring small fried fish, pork, pickled radish, and small red squid, artistically decorated with plants and flowers. The house special fried rice and the savory fried lobster were also highlighted as good options.
Meals at 老友记(粵菜) Bamboo Seafood Restaurant typically start with an appetizer of chicken feet and conclude with orange slices. While one reviewer found the fish to be just "ok" and did not recommend the vegetables, they generally considered the food quality to be average, neither the best nor the worst. Canned drinks are priced at around $3, which is typical for a restaurant setting.
In terms of service, most reviewers found the servers to be nice and efficient in their duties. However, one customer mentioned that a mandatory 15% tip was added to their group's bill. For larger gatherings, the restaurant has a large table in the back room that can accommodate up to 18 people, making it suitable for group dining, as experienced by one patron on Father's Day, who also noted the good service despite the busy occasion.
The atmosphere of the restaurant received mixed feedback. One reviewer found the ambiance not particularly "appetite-inducing," citing the noise from the TV and refrigerators as distracting and lacking a real vibe, suggesting that music could improve the experience. Another reviewer described it as a "pretty good for a small restaurant." The placement of the TV was also mentioned as inconvenient for viewing.

Customer Reviews
General: Came with a group of people, total ~ $400. Mandatory 15% tip ~ $60, the fact that waiters/servers have to rely on tips suck but its common practice in US, next time please just put the tip percentages on the receipt otherwise nobody knows your minimum tip. Food: theres a dish I forgot the name of, i don’t see it on the google map “recommend dish to others” list either, but the combination dish with the small fried fish, pork, pickled radish, small red squid, with plant and flower decor in the middle was pretty good. The house special fried rice was also good. The fried lobster was savory and filled with taste. Food came with Appetizer of chicken feet and ended with Orange slices. The fish… was ok i guess, i don’t recommend the veggies but that might be just me. Food is mostly ok, not the best, not the worst. The canned drinks are like ~$3 which is kind-of expected in a restaurant. 4/5 Service: servers were pretty nice. Well, most of them. Did their job. What can i say? 4/5 Atmosphere: tbh the group was kinda awkward, the tv is kinda useless because i would have to snap my neck 180 degrees. Also the ambient wasn’t exactly appetite inducing, the buzz of the tv and refrigerators makes me wanna sleep and i can’t focus on conversations, there is no real vibe. As so, maybe some music would be nice? Anyways 3 stars is average, 3/5
Pretty good for a small restaurant. They had one large table for 18 people in the back room. The food was basic Cantonese style. Service was good for a busy father's Day.
In addition to the variety of authentic Cantonese dishes offered, the pumpkin yolk fries will have you transcending from this planet because of the crunch and unique flavor. Lively energy from the servers. A plus is the private rooms have karaoke!! Definitely worth checking out as they recently opened!
Food was immaculate. Order the entire menu. You will not regret it. This is my 10th time here. They hosted my grandmother’s 73rd birthday and she had an amazing time!!!! Service was amazing and vibes were astonishing.🤤🤤🤤🤤
Excellent food and service. What more needs to be said
