About 86 Noodles

86 Noodles is a Chinese Restaurant located at 8608 4th Ave in Brooklyn, New York, offering meal delivery and takeout services. The restaurant has recently come under new ownership after 28 years under previous management.

Recent customer reviews express significant concerns regarding changes implemented by the new owners. One reviewer noted a doubling of prices, smaller portion sizes, and a decline in food taste. They specifically mentioned a takeout container for a full-sized entree that was not full and a smaller portion of plain white rice.

Another long-time resident of the area who had not visited in a while decided to try 86 Noodles again. Their experience included receiving only five pieces of chicken wings that were described as "2 1/2 wings" and bland despite being fried well. The sesame chicken was also unsatisfactory, leaving a pasty feeling on the tongue. The house rice was described as bland, requiring additional seasoning which the reviewer typically avoids. This customer felt that the $44 spent was not justified by the quality of the food.

Based on these recent reviews, it appears that the transition to new ownership at 86 Noodles has resulted in noticeable changes that have negatively impacted some customers' experiences. Previous owners retired (after 28 years) and new owners have finally opened. They've immediately doubled the prices. The portions are smaller and the food is less tasty. The takeout container for a full-sized entree wasn't full and even the side of plain white rice was a smaller portion

I live in the area for years and haven’t been here in a while so I decided to try them again. The wings were only 2 1/2 wings / 5 pieces in total. It wasn’t a whole wing was bland yet fried well, the sesame chicken, which I usually love from almost anywhere was I had a taste can’t really can’t explain left my tongue pasty. The house rice was bland. I’m not a big user of soy sauce so I try to just eat it as is I don’t like to add salt. If I don’t really have to usually I don’t, so I just tolerated the rice. Not sure what I paid $44 for. Expensive and not worth it

Best sesame chicken around. All white meat. Only comes in 1 order and it's a bit pricey but very worth it. Big enough for 2 people to eat for lunch or 1 hungry person for dinner. Order it extra crispy of you like that crunch. Haven't ate too much else from here although what I have tried was good. If you haven't tried this and love sesame chicken, do yourself the favor.

People please be aware and have your soup bowl ready, if you are making an order - Cantonese style noodles soup for the delivery, if you working in the office. Because you will have to “fishing” in the tall container- for your ordered soup. 🫤 Price, I will tell you - very above for the taste of ordered food! Very badly disappointed! Never again will make any orders from this place!

I have been a long time patron of 86 noodles from back in the day when they were on the corner of 86th St. and 4th Avenue. It WAS MY GO TO PLACE FOR CHINESE FOOD for a very long time. Their best dish was the sesame chicken, it came out the perfect consistency ; nice and crispy while still being savory and just the right amount of sauce. Over the years though, very unfortunately, the QUALITY OF FOOD HAS GONE DOWN significantly. The Sesame chicken now tastes very dry and TASTELESS. If this was 10 years ago I would’ve given it five stars as I was a patron at least once a week. I really hope that sometime soon they will get back to the level that made me one of their best customers. Would recommend skipping this place unfortunately.
