What a great little mom and pop shop in the heart of Old Vista. I ordered the chicken fried steak and was not disappointed. Had a side of home fries which were good but nothing above and beyond. I will mention that the chicken fried steak had a very nice crust on it and I was pleasantly surprised because it was also drenched in their delicious gravy. My partner grabbed the machaca super burrito and the burrito earned the title super due to its amazing size The server. Katy was hustling and she was by herself and always had a smile on her face. From the get go, they lost my order. BUT...The staff was comedic, there was a steady influx of to go orders ahead of me and when I used the extra time to take photos and people watch, I just had an awesome time. For context, I ordered to go at the register... The house manager went into the back and mockingly yelled at the cooks. It was hilarious. They have been open for 3 years, the broth is rich, the ingredients they send home are fresh and FLAVORFUL. Even the noodles were perfect in the end. YOU NEED TO GO HERE.

So incredibly amazing. This spot has been here decades and continues to have amazing, high quality food and tastes. I had a Stromboli, which was incredible! The bread is great, too. All their sauce is home made. They also have pretty decent lunch prices for how large the plates and items are. I would recommend to anyone in North County.

! is exactly the kind of Mom and Pop business I am focusing on patronizing this coming year! We live 40 minutes away so unfortunately we can’t come as often as we would like. The food is amazing. We were seated by a hard-working young man named Ethan (he never stopped moving ALL night!) and our wonderful server was Talia. They have the ability to change the pasta type if you prefer something else. We swapped our noodles with linguine and it was delicious! We had the Penne Amatriciana and the Rigatoni Alla Toscana, both with Rosetta sauce. The chefs accidentally switched the sauces and I got the spicy one. I loved it so I recommend asking for it this way. The salads were fresh and tasty. While we were waiting for our table, a couple of nice patrons recommended the Rigatoni Alla Monte. I will definitely try that next time!

We love coming here after church on Sunday , sadly Griselda that always attends us is not very friendly. We are a family of 7 and she will say, let me know what you guys need I have other tables and can’t be coming here back and forth and it’s just drinks or sauces we ask for not a whole meal :/ as we ask for drinks she’s walking away from us as we talk so unfortunately she does have to go more than one round since she didn’t wait for us to finish talking seems like she’s in charge since she’s training other employees. The food was burned and my kids didn’t want it but we didn’t want her to give us a worst attitude so we didn’t say anything. It’s the second time we get her both times not very pleasant to come after church her unfortunately.

When my friend, her father and I first arrived we asked for a booth. It was about 12:30 in the afternoon. She tried to sit in the first booth but since it was raining the night before the ceiling was coming down. It was wet asbestos everywhere. She actually waited for us to sit down I said no we're not going to sit here. That's when she moved us to another place. It took a while to get us our drinks. Teresita, I think her name was, seated two groups of customers and took their orders before taking ours. When the food finally got to the table, the fries were cold and my classic chicken sandwich looked crazy. It was also cold. My friend dad ordered sourdough toast on the side and got wheat. He also did not get the biscuit that came with the meal. Yes we were charged for both. My friends fries were cold but her burrito she said was tasty. My take away from this place is they make a good breakfast burrito. So if you want to wait long, get overlooked, not be able to chew your chicken sandwich, and be charged for stuff you didn't get, come here. 3/39/2025 I'm still waiting for resolution....

Food was excellent! Ordered Pork Pot Stickers, Orange Chicken,Black Pepper Beef and Walnut Shrimp. Appetizer was Cucumber Salad . Service was great and really friendly. They were quick and attentive. It was slow when we were there but it was nice and clean. Definitely will go again.

They forgot the peanuts in my very very bland kung pao chicken with undercooked bell peppers. Spring rolls like cheap frozen from Walmart. No fork. I did get a spoon but that didn’t help much. Didn't ask if I want rice. It may have specified somewhere on the menu that it’s not included, but it was not obvious to me. Hot and sour soup was hot, but no flavor. $30 for one person. It was edible, but not enjoyable.

I came here with my whole family and we thoroughly enjoyed. The Pad Thai and Egg Rolls were really good and the waiter was super nice. Also there was very little wait time. Would come again.

Stopped here on a whim. This was the best! Nice restaurant, great customer service, and the food is phenomenal! The orange chicken portion was huge and really good and crispy. The Red Curry is delicious! I got the chicken. Spice level 2. You can choose your spice level. I highly recommend this place and look forward to trying a different dish!

Ohana Hawaiian BBQ is a gem! My son is absolutely obsessed with their spam musubi—it’s his favorite food. I personally love the macaroni salad; it’s the best I’ve had anywhere. The place is family-owned, and everyone is so kind. We’ve been coming for years!

I can't sing enough praise for this place. First time here. Best Loco Moco I've had since leaving Hawaii. My wife's Katsu and BBQ beef were also the best since moving away from Oahu. Who I assume is the owner was so friendly despite being sort of slammed, chatting with locals who obviously come often. Even the bathrooms were nicer than expected. Definitely coming back.

Fantastic true Philadelphia Cheese Steak. Excellent quality and Outstanding Prices even without any coupons or "DEAL". I usually take a picture of the food item.... but I ordered the Mushroom Philly Cheese Steak... took the shop interior photo... then the Steak arrived... and it smelled so good... then tasted so good I ate it completely before I remembered to take the photo :-)

We purchased 2 Mushroom steak phillies.The mushroom came out of the can they was very hard. We order twelve piece chicken wings.The first 3 wings was okay the other had a smell like old refried or spoiled. The FF was good. We spent around 60 dollas.12 :15 arrive left at 1:05 she waited a long time. It might not matter to others fresh chicken is important fresh mushrooms also. I wont say don't go to this place, I would say ask if the food is fresh. This happen today Feb 19 2025. Not trying to give a bad review just make sure your food is fresh.I can't recommend anything but fries.

The food tastes delicious the torta Cubana, quesadilla and sopes that I tried were very tasteful and was a good price for the quality of food served. The have special prices for taco Tuesday's I'd recommend trying this mexican food out. Rice and beans were realy good. They have pastor on a trompo.

The owner is a very rude human being. We're returning customers and he complained for taking too many radishes even though I ordered more food. Half of the radishes were rotting which is why I took more after they cut fresh ones. He said he doesn't need a customer like me. I can't believe a business owner would say those kinds of word. How immature and disrespectful. I think he said those words because I'm Asian. I can't support a business when I get racist vibes from the owner.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food spots in Vista! They have delicious food and great service. I've been here on multiple occasions and each time my food has been amazing. The shrimp tacos combo is a go to of mine, never misses.

Fresh and tasty Taco salad which I got with chicken! The chips and salsa were good too. A decent family owned Mexican restaurant, not the most extravagant, but good cuisine. Been here many times (the pics are from different visits) and all their items have been good so far!

Ordered the El Jefe Torta, so good!!! Wow! The bread quality was perfect, tasted freshly baked and not overly bready. Just perfect! This sandwich also had a kick to it with spice which I loved because I love spice. Also ordered the mango sorbet soo good with lots of chia seeds and a strawberry banana smoothie which was delicious! The quality here is top notch, highly recommend!

Great prices combined with great food is a winning combination. All the food that I've gotten there seems to be freshly made. Just finished scrapping every bit of guacamole off of my beef rolled tacos plate, it's that good. Only has outdoor seating are which is okay.

Marvin’s is always on point! Great .99 mini tacos! I also love the pizza too but I usually order the Mexican food.
